Did it? I was waiting the entire video for some sort of jab at Nitro, but it never happened. Did I miss it? The only thing that came kinda close was the snob remark near the beginning, but nothing about that part made me think of Rad specially.

The Mario Advance series were very well recieved back then by both fans & critics & it's still looked back very fondly to this day for being solid ports of the classic 2D Mario games. It's the New Super Mario Bros. Series that gets alot of flack for their soulless presentation, formulaic gameplay structures & lack of creative ideas.
I can always call 3D Platformers my home, it was the genre that introduced me to video games.
And seeing 3D Platformers having a renaissance period (especially ones with a 6th gen feel) really puts a warm smile on my face.
I totally agree. 2D & 3D platformers & collectathon platformers are my favorite genre & really the only genre of games that I play because that's all that I'm good at. I sure hope they keep on coming. It has been a great year to be a platformer fan. I hope that New Super Lucky's Tale adds more worlds & levels soon because I absolutely love the game. Have already played through it 4 times & on my 5th.

As bizzare a twist as that sounds, some foxes are known to do that, at least in snow! I LOVE how they used that to make this character something a bit more than just "cute cartoon animal does platforming."

@@Ponaru Yeah I didn't think it was a twist either. I thought foxes lived underground in dens. I just assumed they burrowed to make those dens! Im sure i've heard the term 'fox hole' in the UK before too. Yes I'm too lazy to google for the truth about foxes!

I saw this game on the Nintendo Eshop recently, and I was originally only interested in it because the protagonist is my favorite animal. Hearing such an overwhelmingly positive review about it from one of my favorite Nintendo review channels (love your content, Ant, keep it up!), it makes me want to play it ten billion percent more. Once I save up enough money, you can bet I'll pick up New Super Lucky's Tale!
idk if you know about it but the game actually has a demo on the eshop! tbh I didn't know anything about the game prior to seeing it on the eshop but i'm glad to hear the rest of the game seems like it's pretty fun lol

this and Hat in Time are two absolutely delightful 3D platformers. Oozing with charm, great control, and memorable worlds & characters.
I know this is kinda aimed at younger gamers, but if I grew up playing and enjoying the likes of Banjo and Mario, you think this would still be a good game for a dude?

As someone who has played and completed the original VR Lucky's Tale, it does have one hidden talent in that it is an excellent method to get your VR legs, I started the game thinking I was constantly on a rollercoaster and ended with no discomfort at all
So you just gonna ignore that green fireball attack where the fireballs spell "Lucky Smells!!!"
It's nice to see a studio that cares enough to polish up a game that needs it. I can't wait to see what Playful Studios has in store for us next.

ah no, compared to the perfect run champions road isn’t actually that hard if you know the level, only takes a couple of attempts

Excellent video! The footage was good, your voice was crystal clear, and you described the game very well, pointing out its many charming qualities and its minor problems. And you know what, that's all right. A game doesn't have to be perfect for it to be enjoyed.
In my opinion,*New Super Lucky's Tale* was a very fun game. Yes, it was easy, but it was still a joy to play. The platforming gameplay was fun and interesting, the graphics and design were lovely and comfortable, and Lucky as a character is just charming. And all the outfits you can dress him in was FANTASTIC! I look forward to seeing this cute little fox again! :-)

I played this game back when I had to game pass on my PC, and the game is really nice, I love the art style and the tight controls. And the game feels really nice to play at 60fps. I really hope they bring stuff like the freely controllable camera over to the other versions of the game.
I hope that if they make another game in the lucky’s tale series they just keep adding on to the name.

I'm so glad this character and franchise are still making the rounds. I always saw lots of potential ever since the original VR Lucky's Tale, and watching the series make such steady improvements (as well as coming to a console I actually own) has me feeling hopeful for the future of this funny furry.

Well, yeah, of course it's easy. It's a game aimed at kids. The other night, one of my nephews (5 years old, only plays with her mom's phone) wanted to play with my Switch, so I put him New SMB U Deluxe and it took him like 7 lives to beat the first level and in the second one, he couldn't jump from a slope to a higher platform, he just couldn't. So, having games like Super Lucky's Tale is a blessing.
Ant, I'm pretty sure there were unlockable costumes in the original version. Hell, I got an Achievement for putting Lucky in Swedish clothing. AND IT WAS A RARE ACHIEVEMENT!!!

Played this game on xbox and loved it. I'm seriously considering buying the dlc.
Also, the music in this game is fantastic.
I miss Lucky's original running animation, though. In the original Xbox version, he ran more like an actual fox. It was so cute and gave him more of an identity that separated him from other platformers. In this one though, he runs just like Mario. It's kind of generic and disappointing if you ask me.
Still, I'll be sure to give this port a chance, as I honestly really quite enjoyed the original game back on Xbox One.
