The single biggest quality I want in the next president: Smart enough to know when he doesn't know and needs to take advice from those who do.
The sign of a great man or woman is who they surround themselves with. Biden is already surrounding himself with the best and brightest because he's humble enough to realize he doesn't know it all.
Yes, a POTUS needs to surround himself with an A-team, but he/she needs to be more than a figurehead, a puppet of certain parts of the DNC. Biden has neither the temperment nor the cognitive ability we should demand. Bernie, please standby!!! When asked a valid question by a worker in Detroit, Biden told the man he was "full of sh*t" and he might slap his face!!!! Someone please convince Gov Cuomo to run, even as Bernie's VP.

Bernie dropping out wasn't a failure, for sure. Every progressive that runs gets us closer to a Progressive in the WH. Slower than some of us would like, sure.. but slow and steady will wget us there eventually. And if we can get Bernie, or Warren in the Cabinet, or a VP position (even if that is mostly symbolic), it pushes us forward.
The democratic party want to win back the White House, actual progressive radical policies be damned.
Right. Bernie not only launched the Progressive Movement, he still holds a great position of leadership as a senator. With Trump and Biden creating such a leadership vaccum, Americans will continue to look to Sanders for hope and inspiration.
Warren isn't a progressive she has already proven this by staying in the race to take votes from Bernie, and by not endorsing Bernie after she dropped out, over a snake emoji. Which she will now see for the rest of her life. Where the hell have you been?

Our bar for quality is so low that we would be willing to vote for literally anyone else than Trump.
It's not "our bar", it's the bar that Trump and his joke of an administration put down. If you'll allow the reference; if there had been elections in 1940's Germany, you wouldn't have demeaned Jewish people for saying "We'd vote for anyone that isn't Hitler".

But this isn't necessarily true. When Colorado went to mail in ballots, they elected Cory Gardner?!? It's just a scare tactic to make the Republican base view it as "bad". When I was stationed overseas in the military, I always voted by mail. While I am a liberal, a lot of people in the military are not. That said, I do think it would encourage greater participation, which, historically, is not good for Republicans because they can't selectively suppress the vote (ex. target registered Hispanic voters with purges from the rolls, eliminate polling stations in predominately minority communities, etc).

Yeah, I definitely got the impression that he was less than thrilled with Biden, but wants OUR enthusiasm for Biden to be at an 11.
They do all know Biden very well and have been very positive about him as a person, but very critical of him during his campaign. I think they genuinely think he'd make a good president, but aren't too sure he makes a good candidate. And I think that fair enough. I'd prefer a whole lot more progressive than Biden personally, but as a human being he is very decent and I think he's capable (especially when compared to Trump 😅 )

As an average citizen I admit I never was into following politics. I never thought about it. Issues here and there but, mostly I trusted my government. But since Trump, it's been obvious we've been in danger.
To be fair, the government is always incompetent and slow to respond, any large organization is, and considering we have to work for 40-60 hours a week to keep food on the table, and politicians have to politicize for 30 hours a week, its no surprise we can't keep up with them. But yeah, Trump has really shined a light on how bad the swamp can be when you assign family and friends to positions of power and responsibility. Funny nobody learned from the Mafia in NY

Even now our pm just shut down the entire country with any qualms. We are billion people yet somehow the rate is down. If we disagree with our leaders we storm the roads.

Biden won the primary over Sanders for _one_ reason: overall, in the US, loyalty to _brand_ trumps (no pun intended) loyalty to _principles._
I still have Bernie Sanders in my profile picture since early 2016, and it pains me to see the US doesn't deserve such a great leader.
But as an immigrant with his application taking forever due to Trump administration like many other legal immigrants (and coronavirus doesn't help either), I reluctantly support Biden as he can't fuck up immigration this bad. Obama helped me keep my legal status for a longer time, and Biden is no Obama, but he definitely isn't Trump.
Biden only looks good when he’s standing next to Trump, which is no standard at all.

I rooted for Bernie all the time, and I am not even an US citizen. Bernie is a man of vision and energy. I don't think you have any real chance with Biden. He is a lukewarm, borderline senile old man. You need a fighter.

Biden is the luckiest schmuck ever. His campaign was lackluster, and he did next to nothing to win the nomination. People who pay little attention to politics voted for him because they were afraid, and Biden was Obama’s VP, so a known quantity. Obama made some calls, and he got some key endorsements at the right time. So Biden shouldn’t be too cocky about his win. No one is excited about him. I mean, a ham sandwich would be preferable to Trump.

Biden has so many "flaws," a smorgasboard of issues the GOP will no doubt use against him. He even acknowledges only 5 of 7 grandchildren, whether he's forgotten 2 or still hasn't claimed the child Hunter fathered with the dancer. She had to prove he was the dad with DNA possibly. Yes, Biden is the obvious choice, but I heard "kind" used twice to describe him. I don't know if that's a good adjective for Ol' Joe. I'm mean, we can rally behind him but that doesn't mean we have to stop being honest.
4 years ago Biden wasn't running but his name came up constantly in conversations on the podcast as they described working with him on many different initiatives. They always heaped praise upon him and talked about how one of the best parts of being in the White House was getting to work with Joe Biden. It seemed a little over the top to me as it felt more like hero worship. They explained it by saying the gaffe-machine you see in public isn't the guy you meet in person. Unfortunately, the public can really only get to know the image, not the real person.
Oddly, despite all the good things they say about him, I do suspect they all voted for either Bernie or Warren but said from the beginning they'd support whoever won the nomination. It is always weird that Biden was the only Democratic nominee to not appear on their show. I suspect that will change soon.
