This song is from a 1970's rock opera called Starmania & nobody has ever sung it so well. Dimash is from Kazakhstan & is not a gay pop star. He is able to sing all genres of music with ease, sings in 14 languages, though does not speak all of them, is a multi-instrumentalist and a composer. He is also a wonderful, caring, humble man who has worked on his craft since aged 5 & still works with teachers, when he can, and does not take his talent or success for granted. He sang this song on his digital concert in January 2021 during the pandemic. He had to cancel his tour and did this concert for his Dears/fans. That’s why there was no audience to be seen or heard. SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione. SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. Dimash is considered the greatest singer in the world. He has classically trained in vocals and instruments since age 5. He is 29 now. This tall, 6'3", handsome Kazak is also a model for high end items like clothing, jewelry, cars etc. Has his PhD in music and also a degree in film directing. He just wrapped up a huge concert in Hong Kong and is preparing for one in Budapest in May. He is a strong nationalist for his country, kind, giving, compassionate, and a man of very strong morals.

The rock opera is called Starmania, and includes SOS about an “earthling" in distress. Regarding the wings reference: The national animal of Kazakhstan is the golden eagle . ..a symbol of independence, freedom and flight to the future. He often uses this motif.

Also in Russian with good subtitles. Both are romantic ballads. The first has a more jazz/pop feel and the second is more of a traditional Russian romantic/dramatic style.
