Never stops surprising what you and Tanya are able to accomplish and what you guys know and show us. Love the show and can’t wait for new episodes.
Thank you. We have a good time.
Fast 2K, and corn planting. obviously another episode from Tony's tractor Adventure. Great video keep up the awesome work.
Keep us up-to-date on the growth of the Corn I like to see that
Will do! I am going over tomorrow. I hope it is popping through!
God bless you and your family and your friends and thank you for a great video mate. Can I say you two are so much like me and my wife mate all I’m going to say the Wife is always right and it’s the best way to have a happy life together even though you know that we’re really right I have learned this in 30 plus years again God bless you all. X
God bless you too.
You backup straighter then I drive forward. 😂
LOL! I didn't show an up close shot of my corn rows! :)
Hey Tony, That lawn guy actually lives a couple towns away from me. I am thinking of doing the same thing to my lawn to see if it works and how long it lasts. BTW, that soil looks awesome!!
The soil is not that great, but I have been adding sawdust every year from the sawmill. I am starting to get some organics in it.
Awesome stuff, as always. Guys, I love love the longer videos. Awesome stuff
Thank you so much for the encouragement.
For fueling my tractor, I use a siphon shaker hose that I got from Harbor Freight. I set the can there, and I give it a couple of shakes. While it's filling, I check the fluids in the tractor.
I need to do something. We are using a lot more fuel
Looking good! Definitely can see the change. Keep it up👍
Thanks 👍
Good Morning Sir 😇👌🌞Keep Up Your OUTSTANDING team work with your Lovely Wife videographer Sir 👌😇👍(Planning for retiring after 40 yrs ( hopefully next year ! ) is not easy 🤣👍 I can't wait to do the same as both of you 😇😇🙏🙏 Cheers 🍻🍻
Congratulations on the upcoming retirement. We work harder now than ever before. 😁
@@TonysTractorAdventure 🤣🤣👍👍Yes that is a full time 2nd career 🥴🥴🤣🤣👍👍
I just purchased a fuel transfer tank that holds 115 gallons. Pump and hose all fits inside with the lid closed. Really like it. Was tired of lifting those jugs also.
I am going to do something.
I heard about the DEF from Princess Cut Lawn Care.
That sounds right. I think that is where I saw it too.
Never thought about using DEF for the Nitrogen.
I shouldn’t be surprised, because back in 2007 when the engines we were going to start selling by 2011, we had a lot of training about how DEF worked with the After Treatment Systems (ATS). One thing said by one of the instructors, was DEF was safe to drink. But he didn’t suggest you do it.
Crazy.
Corn sure likes nitrogen.
You have to give out your secret on how to get a screw in straight, Tony. Every time I try, it always goes in crooked. It never fails! 😅 🪛 Especially those long ones. You and Tanja are doing fantastic work on the farm, Tony! Thanks for sharing! God bless you both!
I think we start the screw and hope for the best. LOL! Thank you for always being so supportive.
Your LS MT125 loader was a lot easier to take off, but still good job.....Tonya, you to Tony...
Did you mean backhoe? The TYM T224 backhoe is the same setup as the MT125. As tractors get bigger most brands go to a subframe.
@@TonysTractorAdventure Yes,I meant Backhoe. You are one of the reasons I went with the LS from watching your videos when you had one, I still go back and watch them if I'm into something I don't understand
LS makes a really good tractor. Solid company.
😮
Hullo, I was wondering if you were going to do a follow up video on the corn harvest
Absolutely. In a few weeks you'll probably see a little bit of a follow-up on how the corn germinates. It should be coming through any day.
best to plant corn 2" deep to get the best root development.
I think that depends a lot on soil condition and composition, but 2" is fine. We were about 1.5".
So if you had a choice between the field tuff 2 row planter and a covington single row planter with the fertilizer hopper which would you pick?
I never had a Covington planner. I've heard Covington planners are really good. I've had this one for 4 years.
I dont see a link to "Tanyas Place"?
It is at the bottom of my UA-cam homepage. www.youtube.com/@tanjasplace4202
What was the ratio of DEF to Water used?
It totally depends on your needs. DEF in a 2.5 gallon container is 32% urea and the rest is water. Calculate Total Nitrogen Required: You want the nitrogen content to be 18% of the total tank volume.
Total Nitrogen Required=18%×40 gallons=0.18×40=7.2 gallons of nitrogenTotal Nitrogen Required=18%×40 gallons=0.18×40=7.2 gallons of nitrogen
Determine Number of Containers Needed: Each container holds 0.8 gallons of nitrogen.
Number of Containers=Total Nitrogen RequiredNitrogen per Container=7.2 gallons0.8 gallons/container=9 containersNumber of Containers=Nitrogen per ContainerTotal Nitrogen Required=0.8 gallons/container7.2 gallons=9 containers
So, you will need 9 containers of the liquid nitrogen to achieve an 18% nitrogen concentration in your 40-gallon tank.
@@TonysTractorAdventure Thank you
There's a lot more to it. You have to know how much your sprayer will spray. That way you can calculate how fast you go. Each tractor sprayer will come with a chart telling you how much product you're putting out based upon the speed. You can adjust that also through adjusting the pressure on the unit.
@@TonysTractorAdventure I am aware of the calculations. I spray herbicide on some of my fields.
Then you got this. Same principles other than figuring the mixture ratio.
I'm dubious about using DEF (NPK 46-0-0) as a N source for food for human consumption. DEF consists of approximately 30% Urea and 70% DI water. However, as there are no standards set by the FDA, and DEF has not been certified for use in the food chain, there's opportunity for manufactures to have other chemicals introduced into DEF during the Urea synthesizing process. The Urea created in a chemical synthesizing process is not the same as Urea from mammals. The use of DEF on a lawn is different than as a N source for food that one is going to eat. Once some chemicals are introduced into the soil they will remain, and leech into anything grown in that contaminated area. Please use caution. I do enjoy your videos Tony and Tonya! They helped me decide on which tractor to purchase.
I appreciate your astuteness, but farmers have been using urea for years. DEF is urea and ultra clean water.. Because of the type of system used in diesel automobiles, it has to be refined to extreme purity. It has to be the exact mixture ratio to meet the EPA standards. As with everything, I recommend you do what you feel comfortable with. 👍
@@TonysTractorAdventure I appreciate your potentially life altering experimentation as the EPA does regulate or monitor what is fit for human consumption. That would be the FDA. Unless it's drinking water but that's been a miserable failure. However you should have some pretty plants regardless.
I am very cool with it. I don't trust the government that much anyway. I trust my understanding much more.
@@TonysTractorAdventure Looked like you diluted it quite a bit and hardly using a lot in the grand scheme. Probably gonna have to add some blood meal on top of that😁
@@TonysTractorAdventure You've got that right. And nobody should!
