I was tempted to collect HH for almost a year, but I am already collecting 3 factions in 40k. HH in smol scale is a wonderful other option that I will most probably go for
I’d love to see Epic “The Great Crusade” era. Let the design teams go ham on creating crazy Xenos and former human empires before unification. I’ve always wanted to have something set in the Rangdan Xenocide War. So many cool races could be designed for 8mm, they can be entirely new, with not much lore, as the imperium drove them to extinction before more data was collected. I like the GW minis, but I find their price gouging of Australians too much to stomach. So I just stick to the lore these days or 3D print, I’m not paying $500 plus for miniatures when it’s a cost of living crisis over here. I’d like to get this box, but I can’t see it costing less than $AUD400…
6:52 Mk III & Mk II are indeed the best looking Space Marine armours ever. But they are much more Great Crusade than Heresy. The most popular armours during Heresy are Mk IV & V. But Mk VI should be very rare. Yet for some reason GW decided it to be the posterboy armour of HH 2.0.
I am pumped for this game. Love the Horus Heresy lore. I do agree with your point that Mark VI may not be the best choice. If we recall, at the beginning of the novel Horus Rising, the Luna Wolves had just converted to Mark IV. That would be a better choice. And I DO LOVE Mark III.
Great round up. I was looking forward to your thoughts on the matter. Especially whether you would rebase your infantry or not. I'm currently having the same dilemma. Looking forward to more coverage on this.
Epic started in the HH I got two of the box sets where the squads had 4 base colors for I think it was Tactical, Devastator, Assault and Support squads. Was great for massive scale battles.
The original space marines for Epic in the 90s were MK6 as well. So this is a nostalgia play on their part. Only people who played AT would have Titans, so new players would be happy to have them I am sure.
well i am hoping they do not discontinue legions imperialis i was bang into aironatica imperialis that appears to be shelved alongside adeptus titanicus for this trip
I am a little older and started with the original Adeptus Titanicus and Space Marine games, poor person you say, and have to say am looking forward to the new game alot... I am young again..... I was very interested in your breakdown of the sprues etc and they may be similar to the updated sprues they brought out for all the armies in the day. I am sure if it does well the Xenos will appear... Have watched a couple of your videos and they have been very good even though I do not know the rules at all. I play 2nd edition epic 😊
Sorry for all the comments. Just replying as I hear things. I think that you are sort of on the right track with sprues. I bet the Predators/Sicarans or going to be the same set when released outside of the core box. Same probably applies to the Malcador/Leman Russ. A Combined sprue of Legion Astartes tanks or Imperil MBTs. I agree that the Horus Heresy setting lets them do is achieve a few fleshed out factions with a fairly limited release list. Bases will be more of a personal choice, but it may or may not be important from a rules perspective. The box set looks to come with only D6 and a scatter die.
I do wonder how many factions we will see with this, I suspect not many. The new models do look cool though, hence me buying into it, even though I worry about stock shortages like everything GW currently puts out, those floor tiles will defo sell out.
I'm excited but I do want mkII mkIII and mkIV since this looks like it will release what the main game has coming but sooner there's a mkII guy on the tank so yea.. i want to make 2 huge world eaters and blood angels armies if they release more Mark's of armour
Sorry need to look at your history. The original epic Horus heresy was mark 6 in the original Space marine game which was an add on to adeptus titanicus so GW has just followed the history. Il
It could be really great but I am certain they are going to charge through the roof for this. Why would I when I can get 3mm picoarmour for a fraction of the cost? GW rob their customers blind now when it used to be a great pocket money hobby.
I see Alpha Strike terrain hiding out there in the back. Battlemechs are approx in scale with knights, so crossover? (I kid, please do not start a Battletech vs Warhammer war in the comments)
I wonder how much will GW charge per month to support this game? Charging for online updates is what killed the Horus Heresy 40k game...support was abysmal
@@farpointgamingdirect Not true. The closest analogue is them releasing new Black/Red books for HH1.0 and the single campaign book for HH2.0. You've be unfortunately misinformed.
I am 61 and fondly remember the original Epic. I can't wait for the release of Legions Imperialis
I so badly want a big skitarii escort for my titan legio across the battlefield like in the books. I'm so hyped for that.

They teased it back at Warhammer fest in spring.
Lovely Emperors Children models! Would you mind sharing your recipe? :)
I'm thinking of doing the same Legion!

thank you
unless you are printing yourself you will need the models scaled to 8mm not the og epic 6mm

Which online updates did they charge for HH?
@@nigeljones9215 My buddy John said they were charging for army lists or some such, similar to AoS
