It wasn't clear to me from the Kickstarter that Mercenaries wasn't a stand-alone game. The Kickstarter has been disastrous enough that I don't care to spend money on a full rulebook, so I'll be using my mechs for some other game system (still haven't actually received my boxes yet, but once I get them.)
@@cetx Sorry to hear that man. Catalyst has dropped the ball hard on both kickstarters. The box set comes with enough rules to play even if you dont get Total Warfare. The mins are still cool so even if you want to use them for another game the price for the plastic is not too bad... well... compared to 40k anyway. I hope you get your stuff and that you like the game despite Catalyst's epic fails. If you want to support the game and not catalyst there is always grabbing an old FASA book second hand. Good luck man. Thanks for watching my video.
I think it's a slap in the face to have a retail stores get a product that people kickstarted before the kickstarters get it. If it wasn't for the kickstarters it would never have gotten to the retail store. They shouldn't have skimped out on the dice in the Mercenaries box.
@@Overonator it is a slap in the face indeed. Last KS i got my stuff late and i saw clan invasion stuff at barnes and noble before my box arrived. This time it happened with encounters. That annoys me but well. I can live with it. Only 2d6 for a full box set is kind of sad. Dollar tree sells 12 dice for less than $1.50. Come on catalyst at least put 4 dice in there for kids. Its not for me. I have like 10 pounds of dice i dont need anymore but if you picked but a box set and tried to play with just two dice. Oh fuck me that would suck. Other than that the merc box is beautiful. Catalyst has done a good job with their box sets. I recently played some imperial assault and we did not have enough dice for everyone. You would be supprised how much the game slows down when you have to keep passing dice around. Catalyst put either 4d6 or better 12d6 in the box it should not cost much if dollar tree can do it for about a buck at retail.
@@matthewneuendorf5763 Lol. Well thats one way to get some d6s. I got my colored dice from dollar tree back im the day. I wish i bought more of those back they still carried them.
I deeply regret my backing. I'm n the US and still waiting for my entire order. The Encounters Game looks viable, but my mood is soured by the fact I've been out nearly $1,000 this year and have NOTHING while stuff is on shelves.
@@Robovski man i feel you. I hope you get your stuff soon. After backing the last two kickstarters and what happened on both, i will still back the next one but i wont be spending as much.
they have a board games division now
@@verysilentmouse Hopefully they keep cool games coming.

The main reason I added Encounters to my pledge was for the colored dice...
