    Hi Gary, I’ve been through most of your videos and I must say you have a very easy tuition style, very easy to watch, understand, and take in. A very easy decision to subscribe to your channel and signed up for your newsletter too.
    Keep up your work, look forward to more of your videos.
    All the best to you and yours.

    Just subscribed to your channel Gary - enjoyed the video! So if you are uploading pics, screenshots on LI- is the metadata displayed to all other users who may be viewing the content? Thanks

      Hey, not it’s all removed these days. But those companies do receive that data if you send it to them, which they can use for their own purposes. Think: digital marketing and location tracking 👍🏼

    If we take screenshot of any photo from any social media... Would there be any difference in the metadata of that photo...from original photo.

    • @theGaryRuddell
      @theGaryRuddell  Рік тому +1

      If you take a screenshot, then the metadata would be from YOUR device. And most social media sites strip metadata away.

    Great content, however is it possible to extract meta data with windows powershell? If so please create some content on that as most of us are MS windows user. Thank you.

      You could try this github.com/auberginehill/get-exif-data/blob/master/Get-ExifData.ps1

    How a camera has internet and gps in it? Does it have any sim card in it?

    • @theGaryRuddell
      @theGaryRuddell  Рік тому +1

      Connected via Bluetooth to smartphone! But also most photos are taken ON smartphones.

    Just subscribed to the channel, so what if the only cue we have is a photo a person posted on facebook, as that is not a real photo, is there anything we can do? If it is inside a house and no many things to get from google image search?

    • @theGaryRuddell
      @theGaryRuddell  Рік тому +1

      You’d have to use multi sourced information to find new data points. Hopefully that person posted many more photos to other places!

    it does not work on windows. Why is that?

    • @theGaryRuddell
      @theGaryRuddell  Рік тому

      Windoze 😉 Mac is Unix based. So many of the cool little tools from GitHub just run natively on it. Use a virtual machine!

      lol check out VirtualBox and Debian. There are loads of UA-cam videos on the topic! Also check out Windows Subsystem for Linux. Might work there.
