I knew years back Mexico was just an overrated country, so I had my eyes on 3 Latin America countries to visit instead: Argentina, chile, and Uruguay (safe, and stable). Also, Mexico would never be as good as chile even if Mexico becomes a superpower because chile has this:🗿🗿🗿🗿.
Me and mi polola met as she was an exchange student in HS and I can attest that Chile is quite a beautiful country as I am leaving for there for 2 months in 2 days. Valparaiso and Dichato are also beautiful places as well!

In from chile, and honestly, is good but it could be better, for traveling is good, but for living is meh. And also, if you go to chile, you need to go to "fantasilandia", an Amusement Park with LOTS of games
I just returned from Santiago. Although I thought the people were wonderful, I guess I didn't get the same vibe as you. I stayed in the southern side of the Providencia neighborhood it had many restaurants and bars and a cool artsy vibe, but the food was bland, the neighborhoods were very dirty and graffiti everywhere. The culture seemed European, unlike Peru or Colombia, where they've developed a rich culture in their respective countries. If I see another hamburger on a restaurant menu, I'm lighting it on fire!
of course! we are still in Latin America, which means dirty streets, corruption and poverty. For example, the people showned in this video are selling things on the the streets because of poverty, inflation and layoffs. Maybe we are ''better'' than other countries in Latin America, but we are not perfect. Also, we dont have a level of cousine like Peru or Mexico, like at all! But you should of definitely went to chileans restaurants though, to try Pastel de choclo, pastel de jaiba, humitas, etc. We do have good dishes here.

I didn't expect the amount of graffiti amd poverty, but that didn't deter me from walking in many parts of Santiago. I loved the architecture. I also stayed in the coastal towns of Matanzas and Valparaiso. I really loved Matanzas. Valparaiso was not what I expected. Patagonia/Puerto Natales was over the top amazing. A really beautiful part of the country. I did try Pastel de Choclo and although I liked it, I wasn't blown away by it. I enjoyed steaks and seafood, both of which Chileans cook very well. I tried a completo as well, but I'm not much of a hot dog eater. Please don't get me wrong. I really loved your country. The people are beautiful and so friendly. I'll be back soon to try more dishes...

Drew, I hope you revisit Ecuador and give it more time. It is my favorite country in the world to travel to. Guayaquil is great but you have to visit Banos, Ambato, Cuenca, and explore the natural beauty. The people are amazing as well.

It's very nice to talk about stable economy and richness of the country of average salary and stuff we see on the news, but at the sidewalks of each, if you walk all day, you'll see it clearly... But don't get me wrong, Santiago is gorgeous, it's very worth visiting, just not at all the best city in latam...
