Hi Maureen I'm based in south africa I have Diploma in Bridging. Presently working in Dialysis unit as Registered Nurse. Which route must I take to pursue my career to Switzerland. Thank you
Can i get a job as a nurse ,i am an european civilian from spain and i have a diplome in nursing in Spain but i have no experience ,will it be easy to find a job in Switzerland ,i only speak english and spanish ,what is your advice?
You can get a job easily in Switzerland. The only thing stopping you is the language. Learn one of the Swiss national languages and you are good to go.
Thanks for the information . How to register as a nurse there? Or can one just be employed straight and start working? Also what about language barrier or can I get jobs as a English trained nurse? Please kindly answer these questions. I am from Nigeria.
Hello, you are welcome. I have given answers to your questions in my first video “How to be a nurse for non-EU trained nurses in Switzerland”. Kindly also watch my previous video on “can non-EU citizens work in Switzerland “.
Hello Mohreenay682, they can only take non eu workers if they cannot find someone from the eu. The fact that most eu nurses want to work in Switzerland makes it impossible to get here unless you get an eu passport.
Hi I am a psychiatric nurse living in Zug, Switzerland. With the Swiss Red Cross I got a part decision on my recognition. That means I have to do an “Anpassungslehrgang “, a 6 month adaption (practical). I found an employer and am in the middle of this. While I’m doing this I am employed as a care assistant.
I'm a registered nurse with 25 years of experience. What is my nursing grade as per Switzerland rules and what is the expected salary when I applying for a job there
Hello, this depends on many factors: Where are you qualified from? Your 25 years of experience will be considered when calculating your salary but only after you get recognised as a nurse here. Kindly check my video on nurses salaries
Very little. Only places you will use the English language is in multinational companies or organisations. For example nurses working with the UN will use English. Big cities like Geneva and Zurich have majority of their population also speaking English but the local language is a must in the hospital set up and even for recognition of your nursing license as a foreign trained nurse.
What is the salary of icu nurse in the canton of Ticino. I did not understand how to look for salary in different canton when you mentioned in the video. Thank you
Oh! Salaries of people even in the same department really vary. I cannot be able to answer this precisely but check this link for general nursing then they pay you more for your speciality. Nurses generally fall on grid 8 or 9 of these charts. m4.ti.ch/dfe/dr/sru/lavorarenellamministrazione-cantonale/scala-stipendi
@@maureensunshine3185 I don't speak Swiss anymore, I'm looking for how or the process of becoming a nurse in Switzerland. If I can learn the language later, thank you
@@tujuhempat3014 Hello, so there is no Swiss language but 3 major languages i.e Italian, German and French. You can do the pretest and see what the Red Cross recommends. However being that you are from Indonesia you might benefit from the program that takes newly qualified professionals. Check my video on the non-EU nationals that can work here.
Mam ..am a Lecturer, department of psychiatric nursing.,from India I would like to know about teaching vaccines in swiss !! Please share your knowledge
Hello. Teaching vaccines? Not sure I understand your question since you mentioned you are a psychiatrist. You can contact Swiss TPH that offers many courses in line with vaccinations and Tropical medicine. They might just need a lecturer.
Social Security insurances play a big part in calculating your net salary. This depends on your age and therefore I cannot really tell you the exact net salary. However, as a rule of thumb, deduct 5.125% of each monthly gross income.
Pls am a diploma nurse midwife with advance diploma in opthalmic nursing,do u think i can apply for this from my home country and relocate with my family
Hello, unfortunately not. You need a valid work permit to start your recognition process. Please check my first video on non/EU nurses working in Switzerland
Hello Zolin, the Swiss permit is the main issue here. Once you are here all is possible. I know someone who worked as a nurse with Red Cross in Congo and had to do a one year practical training in the hospital. From this I guess having experience with the Red Cross does not count. They separate their recognition process from your experiences with them abroad.
Sorry dear, I really cannot understand your question. I however believe you want to work in Switzerland. Kindly watch my first video on nursing recognition for non-EU trained nurses.

I applied with Swisshr and they said they only hire EU nurses.
