- Can a non-EU-trained nurse work in Switzerland? What is the process, the duration it takes to be recognised and the total costs? I am a non-EU trained nurse who has successfully gone through this process and is very happy to help someone out there struggling with the process.

Girrrrrll!! You are welcome. Thank you love😍
Please, you mentioned *Work Permit* as one of the requirements.
How can one get work permit ?
Thank you very much for the information. Please do they take new graduate nurses. What do I have to do first the recognition or look for a job??? I do understand basic French but French language in the medical milieu can be different.
They do take new graduates. You have to be recognised before. If you are younger than 24 years, I would advise you to take the German route. They train and pay you at the same time. This is not the case with Switzerland.
@@maureensunshine3185 Thanks for the reply. You are God send

Good morning Sunshine from Nigeria. I am new here and this is my first video. I love your explanation and i will love any help on best french language learning websites for nurses and health assistant
Hello Henry, this is one thing that I have failed to find. Most are just based on general French without focusing on the medical bit. However, there books like this one that you can use once your general French is grown or growing

Thanks for your video. How long does the process take after precheck? I'm going to 10 months now and still haven't received accreditation. I paid for my Docs to be checked last Oct. They have all my prerequisites including my B2 German Cert. I did a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in Australia. Do you think i have to do a bridging course? Thank you in advance!
Hello. You are welcome. That is such a long time. Usually it should not exceed 3 months. At this point it will be helpful to contact them. For Australia you might not be asked to do a bridging course.
@@maureensunshine3185
I have both called & emailed but the admin team keeps saying it's out of their hands & atm it's been checked by the Untersuchungteam/Investigations team. It's not straightforward as I thought. Hoping to get a confirmation early March. Anyway thanks kindly for your response. X
Very strange. Wish you all the best.
Can we earn during training course(compensatory measures)??
Is there any need to show funds during recognition process??
Thanks a lot 🎉
Some institutions will pay you, which by law they should but others will not arguing that they are helping you and not the other way round. Will make a video on this.
Do you get paid during the internship, and is accommodation provided. Because if not, how did you survive?
I was not paid for my 6 months of internship. No accommodation was provided. I had saved up for this period. You can for example start with other minor jobs, save up and get the process done. However, if you want to do your internship in an old people's home, you might get the chance to be paid. Have friends who were paid something small.
Hi, if your an English speaking person and have a nursing diploma from the USA. What are the possibilities?
Hi, as a US trained nurse you will probably get the direct entry. You however have to have a permit and level B2 in one of the three languages ( French, German or Italian)
Can u please make a video how long it will take to get pr for foreign nurses in switzerland?
Ok, will work on this.
Can we do Ausbildung program for nursing in Switzerland as well?
Yes but for people already here. E.g a nursing assistant living here can upgrade to a nurse while working at her normal hospital.
so what you mean is that they will examine your degrees, and based on that they will tell you if you have some modules or training left, you'll get that response and apply for unies in Switzerland to complete all the modules left, Is that right? thank youuuuu girliee
Not exactly. They examine your degree and what they really want to see is whether your theory hours and practical hours coincide with that in Switzerland among other things. They then give you a response based on their findings. If they feel your theory hours are less than Swiss training hours then you have to make up for that by taking up courses with two bodies specialised in this, not universities. If you don’t meet the practical hours then you have to do internship in either a hospital, old people’s home or home based care under a nurse qualified to train. If you don’t meet both then you have to do both. Hope this helps you understand it better. No university.
what educational documents ( ielts or oet ) needed for indian nurse with 2 years experience...
Your nursing education documents
is experience a requirement to be accepted?
I only speak English and wish to apply, what do you advice?
Are you in Switzerland already?
Is there an age limit in applying as a nurse in Switzerland? If non EU citizen I heard should be below 36 years of age, i dont know if its true for all companies
No age limit at all. The only issue is that the older you get, the more expensive you become because of the insurances and salary. The employers therefore prioritise the younger nurses. The demand is still high though.
@@maureensunshine3185where do we have the highest demand for nurses? The french cantons or german cantons?
What of the salary ranges?
@@IamGodSon In the German speaking cantons for sure. German speaking cantons are the majority of the Swiss population. Followed by French and finally Italian.
@@maureensunshine3185 If you don't mind, May I know whether you are a Bsc. Nurse OR Diploma.Nurse?

Hello Maureen, I have a almost 10 years gap from nursing career. Now I am in Switzerland and just started learning German language. I really want to go back in nursing profession. In my case also the process is same or different?
Depends on where you studied. If in the EU the process will be easier and actually it’s up to you to decide if you want to do an internship. If it’s from a non-EU country the process is the same but I feel they may give you a long internship duration (just my thought).
@@maureensunshine3185 Thank you so much Maureen 🙏🏼
What if we learn German instead of french? And pls tell what is the reason that we have to do the complementary courses???
Hello, you can learn any of the 3 Swiss national languages. Just be sure to learn the language used in the Canton you are interested to live in.The course is not compulsory, whether you do the course depends on what the experts at the Red Cross think of your qualifications.
@@maureensunshine3185 ok thank you so much❤️
Could u make a video for non europian pharmacist job in Switzerland
Ok, let me research on this
Can u plz tell cost of compensatory courses and duration?? Plz reply m waiting...
I have explained all that in this video.
What about coming from India, Kerala after finishing Bachelor of science in nursing
Same recognition procedure
Pls can one who,s license we expire this year December apply
@Alabi, it’s wise to have it renewed before starting the process. That’s just incase they take long in the pre check stage.

Hey thankyou for your video. I am from Nepal and I recently passed B2 German level. Ich have also positive precheck for nursing process. I wanna know what ist the different between direct and indirect decision? Because I get also bill for 1060 franc to pay. Thankyou
Hello Rebika, congratulations on your positive precheck and on attaining your B2 in German. Direct means you do not have to take extra courses or practicals. You will just pay an amount and be eligible to work here. With the amount you were asked to pay I believe you have the direct entry which is excellent. Do read through the document they sent you to be sure.
Hello Rebika , I am from Nepal also. I would like to ask you which level you had completed, like PCL or Bsc nursing ?

I am from india. I have completed b2 level german. Iam a staff nurse and next month i can move to germany. If there is a possibility to shift to switzerland in future as a nurse? Whether i need a german citizenship? There is any other requirements needed?
No other requirements. Once you have your German citizenship and your nursing degree has been recognised in Germany you can apply for a job here and it will be super simple.
I'm a nursing final year student from Pakistan. I want to apply after internship. Where should i apply, Germany or Switzerland? Where can I save more money?
Germany will be easier if you have B2 level in German. All you need to do is finish your internship get the license and language certification then send the nursing registering body there all your documents.
@@maureensunshine3185 ok thank you so much!❤️
If someone is an Registered Nurse in the US and would like to move to Switzerland, and become a Nurse Anesthesist how can they do it?
Hello, apply for a job while in the US. Your employer gets you a work permit for you, you move to Switzerland and start your recognition process. Before you apply for a job make sure you are at a B2 language level in either French, German or Italian.

If your Bachelor's degree is accepted by Red Cross as equal to the Swiss one then you can get direct admission to a MSc Nursing program. In other cases they also accept students on experience basis.
I however think the experience must have been attained in Switzerland( not sure).
Ma,pls ,can I study bsc nursing in Switzerland in English.
Completely in English, no.
Hi . Last 10 year I live in Italy. And in my home country india i passed bsc nursing in 2014 . But now I have no experience . Is I am eligible for nurse in Switzerland.
Yes, you are. Apply.
What all does B1, B2, A1 mean?
They are the language levels. Each level shows your language capabilities. A1 being the lowest and C2 being the highest and closest to a native speaker.
What about Caregivers?

Hello, how do we get a work permit when we are leaving out of the eu, for example...?
By getting a job, by marriage or through education
Can I ask what kind of job for someone who just graduated from nursing school with Bsc in nursing?
@@chriskamta3190once recognised as a nurse here you will work as a general nurse.
I’m confused ma’am 😅…! Okay let me rephrase. From what I understood, before registering with the Swiss Red Cross you need a work permit meaning you have to be in Switzerland I guess . So I was asking how to get the work permit and you answered through job ( or mariage or study) . My question now was is there a kind of pre registration job for nurses that you can get to be able to apply for the work permit and then register properly with the srw? Thanks for your answers they are really helpful
Ok. You need to be recognised as a nurse by the Red Cross to work in Switzerland. So as a Non-EU nurse, family reunion is the best bet.
Hello ma am a registered Nurse in Nigeria I don't understand French.. Is it possible for me to move on with the process to become a nurse in Switzerland??

Hello maam they have free on job training?
Hello, not sure whether I understand your question. Do you mean them training you as a nurse for free?
I have a nursing diploma.. Can I apply?
Diploma or degree does not matter. Where you studied your nursing and your nationality is what matters.
Wow. How to live And Work there?

Have you specialised in an area of nursing? That gives you more chances since you are non-EU. Will have a video on this next week.

Please how do i relocate to Switzerland as a pharmacist?i studied in Italy and intende moving to the Italian part
Also Is Thier any difference from the Italian, french and German part of Switzerland?also in terms of salaries, cost of living and so on.thanks in advance
Hello mimiohaz6946. Can you be able to get an Italian citizenship? If so then please do that because that is the most direct way to move here. You will still have to get your credentials recognised here as Pharmacists fall in the category of professionals that must be recognised. It will however not be hectic as if you studied in Nigeria. I will work on making a video on the second part of your question.
