Best ‘LP’ tone I’ve ever heard came from an Ibanez Artist. It came with coil taps, had dazzlingly versatile sound along with that luscious LP tone, was incredibly playable, was beautiful…. but I could not take the neck dive. Sold it.
I've sold my Epiphone Les Paul and bought an Ibanez Artist 420 VLS. I'm really happy i did so, the AR 420 plays great and is very versatile with its Tri-Sound switches. Looks great with abalone binding and fretboard inlays.
Hahah, bought an Artist as an instead of Les Paul. Still wanted a Les Paul so years after bought a 2016 Les Paul Traditional, great guitar. Still have the AR325.
Musicians, Pay attention! This fellow sounds fantastic. The guitar does help but that sound is mostly hard work and dedication focused practice with goals to achieve. If musicianship is what you are after get a metronome and a kitchen timer ⏲. Schedule your work and be consistent for better results. Ben has lessons available and after listening to him play I would certainly recommend taking lessons it could only improve your skill set as to musicianship. Enjoy!
Yes he can definitely play. But so can literally thousands of others. And just because someone can play really well does not mean they can teach very well. But I'm not saying he can or cannot.....I'm just saying, be aware.
I have 3 mini humbuckers mounted in a Stratocaster. Capable of many sounds, crisp and articulate. The guitar is capable, but my playing is nothing like the skills of Ben Eunson. Bravo Sir!
great guitar with such a nice range of tones!! If you like customising guitar try Kiesel - I got a Vader recently with Allan Holdsworth bridge pup and Frank Gambale neck! The sound look and playability is amazing for a great price too - Im not advertising just informing you cos I love mine!
Some of the best tones I have ever heard on any guitar. Does the coil tap control all three pickups equally or can you use, for example, the single coil mode on the mid pickup and the humbucker mode on the bridge pickup?
Great tone for sure. As usual on the examples you use for demonstrating the tones, phrasing, swinging/grooving and perfect note choices, man, I especially dig the 2:30-4:20 segment.
Guitar is fantastic, your music is like a Gambale/Holsworthy hybrid the kind I grew up listening to. I will be listening to your music from now on, I love it.
Great! It took me a little while to warm up to Mini-Humbuckers as well. I used to have them in a Tele and I didn't like it so much, but as time has gone on I have come to love them. Great pickups!
Ben, love the tones you have a lot of different tone options that makes it a really versatile guitar I'am loving it, and your playing is always on point. great video!!!
At first look thought it may be a music man? The clean pickup demos highlight its diversity (what doesn’t it cover :) . Drive tones had me thinking of a fresh take on the 70s fusion/ les paul tones al di meola had on electric rendezvous
What's up Ben, gotta go with the bridge or bridge and middle pickups. The others sound the same to me. What's the price on this guitar? I've never heard of this company up until now or your site. Peace.
When people say that they can hear the differences in split coils & taps, we’ll I’ve always thought that those people were full of it. These are some very sweet coil split tones. I’m pretty certain that nobody could call them out, especially in a mix. Good job on the demo!
I've always wondered how would Ben sound with a Lespaul goldtop with a great set of Lindy Frailin P90s to me that would be a treat cause no humbucker has the tonal dimensions and clarity that a P90 produces.
very cool and unique guitar! I find it odd though that the body appears to have a deeper cutaway on the top side of the neck, rather than being symmetrical or with a deeper cutaway on the bottom side of the neck. is this right or are my eyes fooling me?
@@RedroomStudios Some boffins would say that that extra timber near the thinner strings helps them resonate more. For Hendrix it was out of circumstance, yes. But Eric Gales’ signature guitar keeps that upside down look, albeit with some extra carving into the lower cut just to give a bit easier access to the top frets on the unwound strings. Thanks for the review. It’s a premium guitar, by the sounds of it.
I almost bought a Les Paul too, But after this UA-cam presentation I'm going to save more money in cutting to the chase to just buying this Guitar Player!
those pu sound great. However, you should check an old ibanez am205. i put the prs pauls guitar splittable humbuckers and the guitar is a killer. can be almost strat like and also warm jazz vibe
Playing on a loud stage very little nuance comes thru in a band situation. Single lead lines get lost sometimes. Very frustrating. I find rhythmic triads and double note melodies work best . Loud stages suck really. Random I know. Love this guitar tho!! Great playing!
Sounds very much like my DBZ BARCHETTA, which I call my "StrataPaul" the only difference is mine does not have a mini humbucker, but it does have coil tap. It can sound like the best Tele or strat or Less Paul, in any given venue.! Still this is a very nice guitar...wondering how much it cost as compared to my Barchetta...would be interested in knowing.??
Greetings! Fellow UA-camr here! Love the tone on that Frank Bros! Very clean and no flubby tones at all. Is there a link to the backing track you are using? New sub! Thx!
I'm so glad you said that. In my house as a child around that time we had a 386 with Windows 3.1. I loved it. We later had a 486 with Windows 95 which was cool with with it's Brian Eno startup sound, and of course Weezer.mpg, but 3.1 will always have a special place in my heart.
Hi Ben, I want to teach a few students. Let me know if you are interested. I accept gear as payment and have a mystical approach, so you may not notice the progress in this, lifetime. I prefer schecter guitars lately and I need a marshall silver jubilee.
Id have to play this guitar through a variety of amps before I'd put it above a Les Paul. While Im sure its a fine instrument, the Les Paul standard IS the standard.

You couldn’t counter weight an otherwise perfect guitar?
Hahah, bought an Artist as an instead of Les Paul. Still wanted a Les Paul so years after bought a 2016 Les Paul Traditional, great guitar. Still have the AR325.
I had one and will have one again. There is a particular strap from D’addario that has a fabric that stops neck dive.

Same
Amazing how by using the middle P/U in combination with the neck or bridge humbuckers you get such a Strat like tone. Awesome!
Great axe! Nice range with the humbuckers alone and having the ability to switch to single coils really makes it worth its weight in gold.
Ben, @4:07... ah what a release, a flurry if you will. I had to wind that one back for another listen...👏
Beautiful tone and instrument. In the best hands in the World. Congrats
Thanks Mauricio!!

Super enjoyable video! Very nice tones and, the stuff you play is so melodic as well!
thanks Mats! So glad you liked it
what model is this guitar?
Great tone for sure. As usual on the examples you use for demonstrating the tones, phrasing, swinging/grooving and perfect note choices, man, I especially dig the 2:30-4:20 segment.
Really nice tones!
Impressive range, from tele to Les Paul. It's like a Swiss army knife guitar!!!
Love the melodies in your solos
It sounds beautiful ben that light drive tone sounds really good.
Guitar is fantastic, your music is like a Gambale/Holsworthy hybrid the kind I grew up listening to. I will be listening to your music from now on, I love it.
Great tones! I'm starting to REALLY warm up to the sound of Mini humbuckers. I like their clarity, but slight warmth and fatness.
Great! It took me a little while to warm up to Mini-Humbuckers as well. I used to have them in a Tele and I didn't like it so much, but as time has gone on I have come to love them. Great pickups!
I’d say, go mostly with the neck/middle combination! But when you wanna get dirty, that bridge pickup rocks.
I agree!!

Beautiful sound & fantastic guitar player.
That mini humbucker in the middle sounds great ! Amazing guitar Ben, congratulations !!! 🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍
Sweet Chops. 👍🏻🎸 Great tone.
Awesome! I live near their shop in Toronto, and have seen quite a few of these. Beautiful guitars. I hope to get one this year.
Geez... Great tones, even bigger props for the playing.
That‘s a beautiful-sounding pickup combination. Thanks for sharing 🙏🏼
The tone is exactly like the guitar tone in the 80s TV show Magnum P.I. I love it . Yep , nails that exact tone .
Impressive guitar 🎸 👌 👏 and a great player 👏

Went from feeling indifferent to absolutely loving this guitar by the end of the video. Such beautiful tones!!
Thanks for watching!!
It sounds fantastic!
But it's the ugliest
What a beautiful sounding guitar...
Great sounding guitar and superb playing and tone as ussual
Thank you so much!
It sounds great. Visually, it reminds me of Malcolm Young’s Gretsch. It’s like a Les Paul but with access to the last frets.
Nice playing dude...

Nice guitar. What amp/modeller/profile do you use? Not that it really matters. The way you phrase etc is amazing. That first run.... Awesomeness 😎
thats fresh sounding, what kind of sequencing is that ?
nice playing ,,
The intro tone reminds me a lot of Greg Howe's, Introspection tone.
Luv it, great playing and tones 👍👍
I love your style
Thanks so much!
This guitar is phenomenal! They should make a signature version for you
Thanks so much!
Sweet sounding
It really is amazing that every tone is beautiful and usable!
I agree! So many options between the clean sounds, overdriven sounds, pickup switching settings, etc...it's great!
very cool and unique guitar! I find it odd though that the body appears to have a deeper cutaway on the top side of the neck, rather than being symmetrical or with a deeper cutaway on the bottom side of the neck. is this right or are my eyes fooling me?
@@ILoveTeles any idea as to the rational of this "reverse" asymmetrical design or is it purely an aesthetic choice?
Think Strat flipped upside down as per Hendrix or Eric Gales.
@@BradPham sure, but that was out of necessity rather than an aesthetic choice.

@Brett You probably don’t have any normal double cutaways then?! 😃
I really like the clarity of the pickups. Are you playing thru an amp, or software?
Middle and Bridge single coil was my fav tone.
Wow that sounds great 👍
Are recording through an amp? What amp? and what microphone?
What?! I live in Toronto! Never heard of them. 😱
A quite quirky-looking thing. But I think it fits you very well and I bet it is a great guitar to play.
Very nice !
My fav was that middle pup. I could live happily with that one alone.

Frank Brothers are 🔥🔥
Dam. I want one!
It sounds really great original and unique, and it's very refreshing that's it's not a "traditional" brand
This sounds like computer generated music. It’s a guitar, it should sound like a guitar.
It isnt worth 5k in my opinion. I could have 2 awesome sounding guitars for that price.
I'ld like if you not use FX on the guitar at least for part of the video.
The guitar sounds great as it should... them puppies cost $5000 ! Other than that Ben is a great player and seems like a cool dude !
Fantastic tone! And youre an absolute monster if a player too man. Out of interest, what were the stock pickups like?
“If” a player, that’s for sure (whatever that means) 🥰
@@Quinceps my bad, 'of' a player.. Typo lol

Sounds better than a Les Paul

Should have gotten a les Paul but if you’re happy then I guess it’s good.
Sounds like Steely Dan could have used it on a few pieces.
This guitar is far more expensive than even a Les Paul with split coils. These guitars seem nice but they are very expensive.
Not exactly a buxom hourglass shape of a Paul tho
The phrasing of this player is astonishing.
It reminds me of Frank Gamble, only BETTER!
Hmmm, "hybrid between a Strat and a Les Paul" ... sounds a lot like a PRS Studio to me! But that FBGC is a wonderfully versatile instrument, no doubt.
PRS has a distinct tone that I actually never liked.
It sounds cool but the parallel with Les Paul is just not relevant .
#lespaul but just to ratio it. Savage eunson
