Cheapest and easiest way Get foam 1/2" by size of ur radiator length and width my slides in between the grille and radiator. Make sure to poke some holes first. $10 for foam board at home depot 3' by 5' save the rest for oil changes nice n soft for lying on
I used a bluedriver scan tool to monitor my 99 Dodge Ram pickup, I monitored live data from driving on multiple days 70's-80's and 30's-50's And it got better fuel economy with higher temps and lost fuel economy with colder temps. I always thought it was better to lose heat to save fuel since the ecm wouldn't be injecting more fuel in to cool down cylinders, but apparently it's the opposite, it has to be a certain degrees as engine sweet spot 193°, 183-196 range for me. I've got one of those winter fronts coming soon and I'm gonna love trying it out this winter. I'm also thinking about getting an in line coolant heater on a timer to get my truck ready when I need it.
