For now though... on with my s--tshow! Due to a surprising number of requests, here’s Patrick Bateman in a cape!
Well, a Homelander ASMR roleplay, based on The Boys television series. In this roleplay you’ll be interviewed by the sociopath-in-chief himself for a position as his PA at Vought international. As such, you can expect soft spoken threats, swearing, violence, histrionics, solipsism, with a heavy overtone of toxic masculinity. Oh, and lots of vocal fry, which I don’t do a lot, but was quite fun.
And, if the Homelander costume looks a little ropey, that’s because I made it myself, so please be kind! It’s a LOT of painted leather, gold marker, tape, and a desecrated American Flag. Enjoy!

🎙 What is ASMR? 🎧
ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is synaesthesia of the soul. It’s a relaxing feeling, it’s a tingling down the spine, or it’s simply a sleep aid. Whether it’s being ‘held’ by someone you have confidence in, or ‘looked after’ by someone with authority, or just feeling ‘safe’ with someone you trust, it uses audio-visual triggers to enable you to let go of your worries and stresses - even just for a bit.
📽 What is FPC? 🎞
FPC (first person cinema) takes all the relaxing elements of ASMR but has much more of a focus on immersion and the suspension of disbelief. It’s kinda like being the main character in your own short movie, with popular figures you know and love, or entirely created worlds - just for you. There won’t be any visible mics or traditional triggers in these videos, and they will seem more unintentional than the usual ASMR videos - but they are unique and relaxing experiences designed to transport you to different places, worlds, and times.

the jaw work in this video is incredible. there’s this “bite” sound that you make at the end of sentences, like a period, which i’ve never heard in another one of your vids but it really fits homelander. he moves from this loose relaxation right back into this rigid facial structure, this tense jaw, and he does it so quickly. you match this mannerism perfectly. the way his jaw claps shut in the show is so easy to NOT notice but i love how you incorporate it here.
a lot of the ASMR in this video is made up of actual sounds homelander makes in the show! your gloves, jaw, the way you scoff and gasp. even the escalation between question and interrogation is used AS a trigger! and that’s not even a sound it’s a change in demeanor! this video is a masterclass in understanding what asmr really is. you have it down. completely.
i’m not saying that i was perfectly tingling for this entire video, i haven’t really had tingles in a long time. but this video absolutely applies lessons of asmr which are imperceptible to most people, and most people don’t notice their absence, but when they are included they fill a video with ASMR flavor.
you didn’t inject your own mannerisms into homelander. you didn’t redefine his context to make him more suitable for asmr (besides the context of this exact conversation, the interview, but i’m speaking in terms of character). you basically saw everything about homelander which could be used to trigger asmr, and you took it and used it.
you seem to understand that ASMR is about striking a balance between habit and novelty. you don’t have to strive for relaxation. this video is relaxing- but you insult, threaten, your tone gets sharp in a way that wouldn’t be conducive to asmr in most other contexts.
playing off of the expectation of the viewer, and constantly MEETING and REDEFINING those expectations is the heart of the sensation of ASMR. i don’t know if the way i’m writing this makes any sense but hopefully you get what i’m trying to say. you are meeting the medium exactly where it asks to be met, you are not trying to contort ASMR to fit a different kind of experience. it’s not just the ‘sleep thing,’ it’s like, the way that the brain adjusts to the familiar and the strange.
