As a new SUP owner, thank you for talking about why your pump wasn't showing the PSI and how you had to adjust the valve so that it would register the 15 psi. Also at the end, my paddle also was sliding down and I had to tighten the nut to secure it more firmly!
Just bought this board awaiting arrival and after watching this I’m glad I’ve picked this one. Got in sale for 199 so I think I’ve got a steal. Thanks again ✌🏼🏴
Would you mind writing back to let us know what you think of it? I’m also looking at getting this one but can’t quite make my mind up? Many thanks and stay safe 👍🏼.
@@nousername.4831 sure but fyi I chased it up today and my delivery is by 07/08 as they said they are very low on stock and had source mine internationally 🤷🏼♀️
Great video Tom.Job well done to yourself and Crystal.. you covered all aspects with great detail .. definitely considering a purchase after watching this. Thanks
Thanks for making this video. I thought that the gauge on my pump didn't work. I didn't realise that it required so much pumping to get the guage to move.
Someone actually makes a 'silencer' that you attach to muffle the noise :-) It only lasts a few seconds so I don't see the point unless you are doing it near houses early in the morning or late at night... or maybe you are trying to sneak somewhere :-)
I'm relatively new at SUPing and love my inflatable as well...been on small lake 8 times now and bought a balance board to improve strength, etc. Many thanks to you both for a fabulous review plus details on inflating/deflating as well. Happy paddling !!
Bought the paddles ( 5 of them with 4 SUPs) the paddles came apart in the water after 10 minutes. Now need to arrange complicated shipping with Decathlon :( This design flaw is easy to fix on your end. Aside from that love the product and recommend buying the new compact models.
Great vid. Cheers Tom. I just needed more Air in mine, I thought the air gauge was broken. Nope I just needed to keep pumping. Wow what a solid board. Thanks, nick, Seaford :-))
Thanks for making this video, I too have been looking at a SUP from Decathlon, as they have a sale on currently. I was wanting to go SUP in the lake district so decided to have a SUP taster session for 2 hours to see if this is something I will continue using. Sounds very picturesque in summer, winter will be cold in the water if you come off. Do you think you will use it often? takes up a lot of space in a camper van.
All sorted. No problem now. The board has been in many epic adventures. I did a river run in sub zero weather. The ice formed around the handle so I couldn’t adjust if I tried! ua-cam.com/video/3yNLbK6qkOs/v-deo.html
Great vid Tom and well helpful, thanks for sharing, I'm getting one,I have one of the Itiwit kayaks and its super tbh.liked and subbed. You two be safe.
Thanks. I’ve been using Crystals sup in the local flooded park recently, during the bad weather. It was pretty tame but passers by thought it was rather exciting!
Yes - it’s been on a few adventures and held up well. I have another from Mistral and they perform equally well, but the packing and inflating is easier on the Decathlon one
@@tjashton cheers for reply pal I went for the decathlon one as you seemed pretty pleased with it. Have you taken it on any of the lochs up there? I’m in Scotland in a few weeks so hoping to take it up
Thx for the video. I have a question about the gauche, we have the big version for 2 people , and inflated it first time today. It did not move for a long time, and I was not sure if it really works... So I never brought it up to 15 psi... Did you experience any troubles with the gauche, or should I just go on pumping ?
For most of the pumping the needle did not move. Only after some time it started to go up. I suggest you just keep on pumping and it will all be fine! Remember to remove the title valve after you get to 5 psi
We did try it - it’s possible but quite wobbly. It’s just for a laugh - you wouldn’t go any distance like that. I took my mum for a ride on it recently - she’s a bit smaller. and also my 8yr old daughter came on it with me no bother.
Can it support without issues 2 adults together at 63kg and 53kg approximately? If so can both stand? Is it better to be in same position in the middle or apart to spread the weight?
I guess you could. I am 80kg and I stood with Crystal together on this board after we made the video. Together we are heavier than your weights. I don’t know how you would stand though - have fun finding out!
@@tjashton I have the same one in yellow. I need it for my 6'1 height and 210 lbs weight. If she had a smaller version of this you could travel together.
Great review. However, it looks clumsy and not comfortable to spend a reasonable amount of time on for me personally at 64. Guess I am destined for a more kayak themed vessel.
That was a great review - I loved the pacing of the video, with you taking time to discuss the build quality, time to set it up, etc. Well done!
Thanks Martin - I appreciate the comment.

I"ve the same board, since a year ago. Very solid, reliable and easy to use. I use it in a river and in the ocean.

It is a bit of a workout! If the weather is cold, you'll be nice a warm by the time its pumped up!
I consider it warmup for the paddling. Gives you great forearm, if you leave the plugh inside all the way long.
Great honest review, good to see how easy it is to unpack and inflate.
LOL. The shock of how loud it is the first time you deflate a SUP board. :D
Yeah it’s deafening! That board has been getting some serious usage since then so the lugholes are getting accustomed to it!

Glad you like the video. Will you keep paddling over winter? You may need a drysuit - but worth considering

Several people said the same. You just got to keep going! It’s a good warmup on a cold day!
Great video. Would you be able to do another review of the board after using it for the last year?
Thanks for sharing, I bought one, it's a great board !
Enjoy! I’ve had some epic adventures on this one - hopefully many more to come.
Really good vid, this has made our mind up to buy one. Thanks Tom and Christal.
Thanks. We had fun making it! Glad it was helpful
Thanks so much for this video ! I'm considering the 9ft version of this so that helps!
did you manage to fix the paddle from slipping?
Thanks for this - it has been really useful in helping us make the final decision
Cool. I hope you enjoy your purchase!
Thanx for video! Just ordered same SUP, waiting for summer ;)
Good luck - enjoy!
I bought this today. It's my first SUP. Thanks for the review, really looking forward to trying it :)
Enjoy! I have use this one loads since making this video. Lots of exciting adventures!
Great video. Thank you
Totally useful review mate 😁
Really good video for me making a decision on whether to buy this board or not. ( I will get one). Thanks for putting your review online.
I’m glad you found it helpful. Enjoy your new toy!
Great little review thanks. Looks like a great board for the money 😊👍

Thanks for the video! Have you try to catch some "little" waves? What do you weigh? I'm 95kg... tnx!!!
I’ve not tried surfing on this yet. I think I would be very bad it! I weigh about 85kg. The board can take a lot more.

My wife & I shared the board with a combined weight of about 150kg and it was fine though neither of us was standing.
How's the speed? I'm thinking of buying one
Seems ok but I really dont know how it compares to others
A 9 footer could have been enought for Christa. It is good though that you bought this one cause than you might use it as well.
It’s a good all-rounder. Serving us well.

That’s a fair assessment. The SUP is much harder to balance and more of a workout. Kayak is much more stable and relaxing- and still a good workout!
Can it fit 85kg man?
Easily. I am maybe 80kg and I took my daughter on it as a passenger. She’s about 35kg
Which model is this ?
Still happy with it?
Personally I’m using a Mistral one these days but on balance I’d prefer the decathlon one. Not much in it though.
Its 199 atm
im thinking to buy one but looks boring
Save your money then
@@tjashton I've bought two!
