- This lucky puppy avoided possible surgery after eating a small children’s toy. Following an injection to induce vomiting he safely brought it up...in one piece.!
If your pet eats something that it shouldn’t contact your vet as soon as possible. This particular injection can only be given whilst the object is still in the animal’s stomach, don’t wait!
(Please note: It depends on many factors whether your vet would be able to use the same treatment)

Who knows what else is in that little tummy! I had a boxer who would swallow things and regurgitate it at night. I would wake up to looking at something out of this world 🤢. Miss my Bo and even though he did that and had stomach issues in the long run he gave me a good solid 10 years! I could never come around to get another dog after him - it was to hard when he left us! Since this was 4 years ago hope all is well and he’s a nice big companion now! 😊

I've worked around dogs for 15 years and nothing surprises me as to what they may decide to eat with one exception, my longhaired Dachshund, Haylie Marie. She was a paper addict. Any and all kinds of paper. I discovered a razor blade in the middle of the floor and having lived with her at that time for 10 years I knew to look under the
couch. There I found several more razor blades but it was the PIECES of razor blades that scared and shocked me! I began putting the pieces together but I clearly didn't have all of them. There were 3 that didn't match each other and their matches were missing. I took her straight to the vets along with the razor blades so they could see the sizes of the pieces that were missing. Thankfully nothing showed up on the x-rays. So he said she had already passed them or they were encased in feces and she would be able to pass them. Her paper addiction was why she wanted them. They were wrapped in tissue paper and then inside a tiny cardboard box and she ate that too. I should have just let her eat the money I paid the doctor. This was when her first name, Haylie, became her middle name as Damnit became her first name. Damnit Haylie lived to be 15.5 years old and never overcame her paper addiction.
It is actually good that he vomitted it. No surgery needed now.
