I was in El Salvador in 2009-2015 with my kids too. I love it there too but had to come back to the states because my daughter has cerebral palsy. Wish we could have stayed.

The cost you are too San Salvador the more expensive rent is but it's also where most of the higher paying jobs are. If you can work remotely you can live anywhere. A lot of people who work remotely live at the beach. Also do you have school aged children? Do you need to be close to a good school?

WOW!!!! Thank You for being honest in documenting El Salvador and it's people! I returned on 12/9 from a visit with all my family who live there, but I reside in NYC. When I returned I immediately became depressed and angry. NYC during the Holidays is nothing like El Salvador or any other Latin country. The racism, hatred, poverty, mental health crisis, compounded by the structural and institutional inequality of a truly broken Judicial, legislative system overwhelmed me even more, and it's not getting better! I came back to more mass shootings ( about 1.8 per day in the US) , white supremacy and a surging covid-19 rate with soaring ICU admissions ( I'm an ICU RN ). All that being said, I miss home so much and enjoy watching your videos. They remind me of home and inspire me to move back and help build a better El Salvador. I'm also inspired by your two girls! I would love to have and raise girls! mad props and respect to Carlos who always wanted girls bc I also have been surrounded by strong women! It's interesting to see the huge difference in culture between the two countries. You would certainly have different types of kids if they were raised in the US ( #1 they don't have mass shooter drills #2 they are happy! list goes on.) , filial piety ( in the US) means leaving the "old people" at home and not taking them to the mall with you, #3 friendliness, our custom in Alegria is always to acknowledge and simply talk to each other " adios" means hello and goodbye, talking and engaging is widely accepted and expected. You can totally work remotely here. Are you asking about working remotely for Salvadoran companies or international/us based companies? I have never worked remotely so I don't know of any opportunities to do so off hand but I know they are out there especially since the pandemic. Try monster.com, linkdin, or search remote jobs on Google. I would recommend starting the job hunt now to have it already lined up for February, the process can be slow from what I've heard. Thank you so much! We are raising our girls bilingual. I speak English with them and they get Spanish everywhere else ; family, friends, society, and hopefully next year school I've had to unexpectedly Homeschool the youngest 2 the last couple of years due to the pandemic.

The cost you are too San Salvador the more expensive rent is but it's also where most of the higher paying jobs are. If you can work remotely you can live anywhere. A lot of people who work remotely live at the beach. Also do you have school aged children? Do you need to be close to a good school?

WOW!!!! Thank You for being honest in documenting El Salvador and it's people! I returned on 12/9 from a visit with all my family who live there, but I reside in NYC. When I returned I immediately became depressed and angry. NYC during the Holidays is nothing like El Salvador or any other Latin country. The racism, hatred, poverty, mental health crisis, compounded by the structural and institutional inequality of a truly broken Judicial, legislative system overwhelmed me even more, and it's not getting better! I came back to more mass shootings ( about 1.8 per day in the US) , white supremacy and a surging covid-19 rate with soaring ICU admissions ( I'm an ICU RN ). All that being said, I miss home so much and enjoy watching your videos. They remind me of home and inspire me to move back and help build a better El Salvador. I'm also inspired by your two girls! I would love to have and raise girls! mad props and respect to Carlos who always wanted girls bc I also have been surrounded by strong women! It's interesting to see the huge difference in culture between the two countries. You would certainly have different types of kids if they were raised in the US ( #1 they don't have mass shooter drills #2 they are happy! list goes on.) , filial piety ( in the US) means leaving the "old people" at home and not taking them to the mall with you, #3 friendliness, our custom in Alegria is always to acknowledge and simply talk to each other " adios" means hello and goodbye, talking and engaging is widely accepted and expected. Thanks for being an awesome family!

You can totally work remotely here. Are you asking about working remotely for Salvadoran companies or international/us based companies? I have never worked remotely so I don't know of any opportunities to do so off hand but I know they are out there especially since the pandemic. Try monster.com, linkdin, or search remote jobs on Google. I would recommend starting the job hunt now to have it already lined up for February, the process can be slow from what I've heard. Good luck! You've got this!
