Kawaki and boruto, and all the boruto cast is stronger just because the script says so, but when you see their fights they look like just any genin fighting. Even if you see ishiki fighting, his abilities could be in the range of any akatsuki from naruto shippuden. Just enough to see the fight between code and Daemon xD, they barely scratched the ground.

That's why the otsutsuki are powerful, they are stronger, similar to why 8 Gates Guy is powerful. And if you try use Ninjutsu against them they can just absorb it. None of the akatsuki have any abilities that ishiiki doesn't have a counter for. As for genin fighting, HOW??? Borushiki literally threw rasengans casually that were bigger than any rasengan Naruto ever did, Borushiki was literally flying through the air and they are fast asf. Naruto with sage mode couldn't even react to boruto.

To be fair, I'd guess it has to do with the amount of gradients overlayed on top of the characters in Boruto. While Naruto keeps it to simply flats and shading. In my opinion, there's also "more complex" shading in Boruto, whereas Naruto keeps the shades in key places. There's just more things to process in Boruto, making the scene too saturated to easily digest 🤔
@Leandro Gonzalez they have not associated however naruto personaly trained kawaki. So he had access to alot of scrolls. He probably done the leaf test with him and thought him basic fire style techniques sauske isn't the only one who knows fire style.
When I watched that episode, I told my brother that this fight looks like I've seen it somewhere else, I knew that the scene where he killed boruto was exactly from the gorou fight and that kick and fire style was from the last naruto fight, but I couldn't really decided where the other scenes were from, and my brother called me a madman! Now look who's right
this would've been cool if it was intentional and not just studio pierrot being lazy if they'd flipped the choreography so that Boruto was on Sasuke's side (because he's Sasuke's student) and Kawaki was on Naruto's, like the openings tried to portray them as being mirrors on opposite sides of their predecessors.

He used his own severed hand to do this against Isshiki hundreds of episodes ago and this is just 1 step above that. Plus we've seen this used a billion times before Naruto and Sasuke too like Anko vs Orochimaru (OG) Kakashi vs Obito and some others.

naruto fights are iconic for shit like this back in shippuden it gave a sense that they keep a part of every battle they are in but in boruto it reinforces the gravity of the endless reincarnation cycle of hate and how ninja generally all end up on the same paths weather they choose good or evil

Here’s why I don’t like this compared to two other recent instances where past animation was used as a reference. First off the animation was just plain worse, the Naruto and Sasuke fight not only looks better but was designed with these two characters in mind. The reason why the reference in the Isshiki fight works because not only was it the same character pulling off the same move, it looked as good as it did 20 years ago. Same thing with Goku training and mimicking his fight against his grandfather. Same character, but with different contexts
I love how they stated in the previous episode that the karma allows the person to gain the experience of the otsutsuki that marked the person yet when momoshiki fought naruto and sasuke he used tenketsu but yet here he has naruto fighting style and boruto himself has used the gentle fist without tenketsu so this fight was just lazy writing

It doesn't even make sense that Kawaki throws a fire jutsu. The only jutsu he canonically know is Shadow Clone because Naruto taught him. And if it was as simple as using the right seals, Fugaku wouldn't have been too strict with Sasuke to perform it.

For the sake of argument, let's agree that he was still alive that day. Let's not forget, Madara died twice. First, his natural death. When he was battling with Hashirama Senju, Madara got stabbed in the back by him. He used Izanagi beforehand in his right eye in case he lost to Hashirama which he did. An argument could be made that in that instant, Indra spirit moved on as rivarly has ended.

Once their last incarnation shell dies, spirit moves on. It cannot go back on itself I reckon. Just like when Madara got truly reborn during 4th war, Indra was still in Sasuke, not Madara. Therefore, I don't think Boruto and Kawaki are the incarnations of Ashura/Indra since both Sasuke and Naruto were alive at the time of their birth and still are.
Boruto's one lacked the frames and looked choppy. It also makes no sense, other than looking cool, for Kawaki Uzumaki to use Boruto's hand to make hand signs. Sasuke did it to Naruto's hands so Naruto cannot do the shadow clone jutsu since Sasuke understood his friend and enemy (Naruto). Their whole fight was a battle between two worldviews from two best friends. Kawaki did it just too look cool, but Sasuke did it to stop Naruto casting jutsu while at the same time giving Sasuke an opportunity to weave the fireball jutsu hand signs. Sasuke had a story reason to it and the fight-strategy reason. It's a nice reference but it would have been cool if Kawaki and Boruto had their own unique fight moments like this that also link to the story of both if their characters.
I try so hard to stay out of comments, but this shit got me so weak. I've hated Boruto for such a long time based on the fact that it was an unimaginative cash grab. The manga and OG movies grazed a very interesting question and direction but then forgot all about it in order to reduce, reuse, and recycle the absolute worst, borderline lore breaking, part of OG Naruto. The anime took this problem and magnified it 1000 fold, but heaven for bid, anyone calls out any of the many legitimate flaws with this sequel and you're just a "Narutard" or "cry more boomer." But this piece of shit scene right here is so indicative of the blantant laziness and nostalgia baiting of Boruto. When Naruto and Sasuke pull out their OG Zabuza combo against Momoshiki, THAT is paying homage. That is earned! They are showing how far they've come with the same base combo but adding all the experience and abilities they've learned to showcase their growth as well. Weakly writing off the most powerful characters/abilities so that your already OP main characters can have agency, adding in random and needlessly broken doujutsu or enemies like a 5 year old making a new DBZ Super character, and blatantly copy>pasting plot points and literal fight choreography from Naruto, vice making something original are the hallmark stains that mar what could have otherwise been an incredibly interesting world and series. Instead, we get baby's first, Naruto-Light. The show was honestly doomed the moment they had to start it with a flash forward that took years of content to actually reach (weak writing 101).
It's like the 3rd time they recycling those animations , first was the fight at the valley of the end that was the best one, then they copied it and mixed it with Kakashi vs óbito fight at the final battle and then this kawaki vs Boruto like cmon 😂
Now tbh I get that they copied a fight and it’s pretty annoying to many but can we appreciate it in a way? It was boruto and kawaki’s last battle (for part 1) just as it was for Naruto and sasuke in Shippuden, Boruto and Kawaki’s relationship was exactly like Naruto and Saaukes too so seeing this in two fights between two friends is amazing in my opinion, not the best but it has my appreciation

naruto fights are iconic for shit like this back in shippuden it gave a sense that they keep a part of every battle they are in but in boruto it reinforces the gravity of the endless reincarnation cycle of hate and how ninja generally all end up on the same paths weather they choose good or evil

Here’s why I don’t like this compared to two other recent instances where past animation was used as a reference. First off the animation was just plain worse, the Naruto and Sasuke fight not only looks better but was designed with these two characters in mind. The reason why the reference in the Isshiki fight works because not only was it the same character pulling off the same move, it looked as good as it did 20 years ago. Same thing with Goku training and mimicking his fight against his grandfather. Same character, but with different contexts

It doesn't even make sense that Kawaki throws a fire jutsu. The only jutsu he canonically know is Shadow Clone because Naruto taught him. And if it was as simple as using the right seals, Fugaku wouldn't have been too strict with Sasuke to perform it.

For the sake of argument, let's agree that he was still alive that day. Let's not forget, Madara died twice.
First, his natural death. When he was battling with Hashirama Senju, Madara got stabbed in the back by him. He used Izanagi beforehand in his right eye in case he lost to Hashirama which he did. An argument could be made that in that instant, Indra spirit moved on as rivarly has ended.

Once their last incarnation shell dies, spirit moves on. It cannot go back on itself I reckon. Just like when Madara got truly reborn during 4th war, Indra was still in Sasuke, not Madara.
Therefore, I don't think Boruto and Kawaki are the incarnations of Ashura/Indra since both Sasuke and Naruto were alive at the time of their birth and still are.

Boruto's one lacked the frames and looked choppy. It also makes no sense, other than looking cool, for Kawaki Uzumaki to use Boruto's hand to make hand signs. Sasuke did it to Naruto's hands so Naruto cannot do the shadow clone jutsu since Sasuke understood his friend and enemy (Naruto). Their whole fight was a battle between two worldviews from two best friends. Kawaki did it just too look cool, but Sasuke did it to stop Naruto casting jutsu while at the same time giving Sasuke an opportunity to weave the fireball jutsu hand signs. Sasuke had a story reason to it and the fight-strategy reason.
It's a nice reference but it would have been cool if Kawaki and Boruto had their own unique fight moments like this that also link to the story of both if their characters.
I try so hard to stay out of comments, but this shit got me so weak. I've hated Boruto for such a long time based on the fact that it was an unimaginative cash grab. The manga and OG movies grazed a very interesting question and direction but then forgot all about it in order to reduce, reuse, and recycle the absolute worst, borderline lore breaking, part of OG Naruto.
The anime took this problem and magnified it 1000 fold, but heaven for bid, anyone calls out any of the many legitimate flaws with this sequel and you're just a "Narutard" or "cry more boomer." But this piece of shit scene right here is so indicative of the blantant laziness and nostalgia baiting of Boruto.
When Naruto and Sasuke pull out their OG Zabuza combo against Momoshiki, THAT is paying homage. That is earned! They are showing how far they've come with the same base combo but adding all the experience and abilities they've learned to showcase their growth as well.
Weakly writing off the most powerful characters/abilities so that your already OP main characters can have agency, adding in random and needlessly broken doujutsu or enemies like a 5 year old making a new DBZ Super character, and blatantly copy>pasting plot points and literal fight choreography from Naruto, vice making something original are the hallmark stains that mar what could have otherwise been an incredibly interesting world and series. Instead, we get baby's first, Naruto-Light. The show was honestly doomed the moment they had to start it with a flash forward that took years of content to actually reach (weak writing 101).
