Hey Rick, I have an idea for a video that I would like to see!! Can you show the difference between using a new driver head with an older model shaft, and a new premium shaft on a driver from maybe a decade ago? I think that would show how much a shaft or head effect performance
@@huikh2r one reason I mentioned it.. is I was able to purchase an atmos shaft seen here on the m4 driver. But I have it currently on the M6 head. Wanted to see his insight on maybe an old RBZ head with a new shaft or vise versa
The M4 has been in my bag since 2018 and I just haven't found anything better (for me). Some drivers hit further but the M4 keeps me in the fairway more than any driver I've ever owned. Along with the sound. When it’s hit clean there’s not many things I’d rather hear in life. Anyone that buys one should love it. Im tempted to get a refreshed one for backup. Hmmmm
I’ve had one for 2 years now and I love it! I used to primarily play disc golf and when disc golfers find a mold they like they always buy multiple backups…I think it might be appropriate here as well
Had my M3 now for a couple of years . Recently got given a Sim 2 and after 30 mins on the range with it I hated it . Sold it next day and M3 remains . Feels so solid with mis hits
I actually really like this practice in golf manufacture; it makes modern, Top quality golf equipment much more accessible to the masses, and helps introduce newer golfers to the big names in golf!
Rick, I've got an M4 from 2018 and I still haven't found anything to replace it with... agree 100% on the feel and sound of the M4... also, the first time I saw the M4 I thought "that looks like the BMW logo"... great video, keep up the good work!!!👍

After the cobra video and seeing this scared me, as I have the new M4 driver. Glad to see it truly is the same. Would love to see the iron set reviewed!
I have the M2 driver, it's not bad. Then I bought M4 hybrid and 3 wood. MASSIVE improvement. Nice to see they've brought the driver back, I'll definately be buying one! Thanks for the review and comparisons.
Thanks for this great video. I'm trying to get back into golf and purchased M4 irons a couple of months ago. Enjoying them, and noticed an M4 driver on the rack the other day. I love my old Taylormade Superfast from ages ago, but after watching this decided to order the M4 driver. Looking forward to seeing how it does! Thanks again - enjoy your videos.

I play the M5 driver with a supercharge after market shaft which left me with a tensei orange shaft with no head. So last fall I saw an M3 head on eBay for a low price. I bought it and took to course to test. I was playing with a friend who still played an old Cleveland XL, so I asked if he would like to try it. We both hit it longer than my M5 and his Cleveland. He wanted to buy it straightaway, so it’s now in his bag. Needless to say I bought another one this winter and can’t wait to see if I can reproduce the results. I’ll update you in a couple months.
I think this is just smart. I love the idea of spending less for a brand new older model that basically performs the same as a new model, especially for rookies. I’m never interested in paying the brand new price for a new model to gain 2 yards when my typical drives varies by 15 yards anyways. Makes me want to support Taylor made more and I’ll bet this could help them sell more clubs overall.
I Watch this rewiew when you first launched the video, but nos with my golf store putting it out for 230 dollars in swedish bucks i orderd one. Just goes to show: if you’re picking up a new club and you’re just looking for anything pretty close to right, you’re a fool to not mostly fill up on lightly used or 2-3 year old clubs. You’ll have less fitting options and will just have to take what’s available, but you’ll get good enough. If you’re looking for something super fitted and precisely tailored for you… that’s when you go new, go to a fitter, and take advantage of every little option the new lines have.

Your reviews are Great Rick! Thanks for the info. When shopping online for a 3 wood fairway (M4) I noticed a color difference as well and got suspicious. Your review answered all my questions regarding Blue/Red (2018) and Red/Red (M4) Fairway woods. As for the STEALTH, I do not think my DOUBLE BOGEY game will notice a difference!
Hi Rick, I have the older M4 and after viewing your video, I will not trade up this year. However, I am interested in a new set of irons and the M4 (2021) seem to be in the right price/value range. But, the changes are more evident on the irons compared to the driver and would love to see a review of the new irons to evaluate if they have retained the same capabilities as the older ones. Thank you for your videos, they are really helpful.
You may think TaylorMade have shot themselves in the foot but I think you have also helped with this (which is a good thing) because it makes golf more financially accessible for those starting out and not getting sucked into the expensive drivers! I do wonder if the new M4 will trickle down to Australia.
My game of life is playing pool, not golf. Although I DO love both games, pool (or billiards on your side of the pond) is gets more love than golf. That being said, your comments on the sound and feel of the M4 vs the Stealth brings me back to a common ground. When pool had a pretty big improvement in performance was the switch to a carbon shaft from wood! Many, MANY people said the carbon did not have the same feel, or sound. I bought one anyway and actually love it! It is one of the greatest things to happen to the game in many years. Not to everyone, of course, but most would agree. I didn't really pay attention to anyone that had their opinion on the matter, as I was already sold on the idea. It worked. I did however hear of a comment after about a year or so of them being available of "With all due respect, the feel and or sound will come AFTER the tip makes contact with the cue ball. If anyone doesn't understand this, they haven't really been playing long enough! The stroke in itself is what makes the shot, not the sound or feel. All of these things happen AFTER you make contact with the cue ball"! It is true, Carbon is the way of the future. lol On a side note, a decent wood shaft new is roughly $300-$350 and the carbon is from$400-$550. So it is close in price....Thanks for the show, its truly amazing.
The honesty of your reviews Rick are top class brilliant content and fantastic consumer advice keep up the good work pal and what would be class is get out playing golf with liam from golf mates would be class very funny if you took on the box set challenge.
Rick, they also did the same re-release with the m4 irons BUT they are different! They no longer have the flutted hosel and they do not have the face slots. I believe that they removed the face slots because TM was having trouble with crushing on the face.
same thing here. Callaway Epic flash subzero is still in the bag, despite Callaway has released so many newer models in last 3 years. Epic flash is still the longest driver, and most consistent driver for me.
Do a review of the 2021 updated m4 irons please :). They removed some of the tech and are selling for $599 usd, but are they any better? Or possibly not as good…. Should be a good one 👍🏼
Great video Rick. As I am in the market for a new driver, the M4 is definitely going on the list. Maybe something will finally be better than my......wait for it.....lol. Callaway XHot.
This video makes me happy. I just picked up a new 2021 M4 for $399 Aussie dollars which is about 200 quid. Looking forward to getting out on the course…
So revisiting this post, used the driver for the first time on Sunday. Only played 9 holes. 7 drives, 6 straight up the middle of the fairway!! My old Brosnan driver was 25years old and the head is barely half the size of the M4. Looking at tell tale marks on the face, several of my drives would have been shanks with the old Brosnan for sure. The M4 is so forgiving. One thing, I found I needed to tee up half an inch higher than I was used to so I could hit the sweet spot. The sound is something else, such a crisp “thwack” :)

Just got a couple of months ago brand new m4 set! With drivers, hybrids, and irons alot cheaper and perform close to the stealth
The honesty of your reviews Rick are top class brilliant content and fantastic consumer advice keep up the good work pal and what would be class is get out playing golf with liam from golf mates would be class very funny if you took on the box set challenge.
Your videos are awesome, i played not my best golf in a tournament today at all, your videos made me feel a lot better
I love Rick's videos too. I only wish they made me feel better after a bad round of golf. I want that magic sauce !
Nice review
That's the Rick we know and love.
I love my M4 fairway. I need a little thicker feel on my M6 driver. You do a great job.
Rick, they also did the same re-release with the m4 irons BUT they are different! They no longer have the flutted hosel and they do not have the face slots. I believe that they removed the face slots because TM was having trouble with crushing on the face.
and Ive noticed the same thing on new vs older woods & irons. That being there is very little difference but the price just goes up every year.
Love these do the m2 old and new next 👍🏻
Same with the M2. A re-release. Found some new at Academy Sporting Goods...But now do side to side 2007 Burner against the M4.
You are so good at this! Thank you.
same thing here.
Oh nice call. I would like to see that as well.
The fittings haven't changed over the years or get the All-Fit adapter, find your favorite shaft and stick it in this head. makes a lot of sense.
Great video Rick. As I am in the market for a new driver, the M4 is definitely going on the list. Maybe something will finally be better than my......wait for it.....lol. Callaway XHot.
Cudos! To TM for putting out such a valuable driver at such a great price 👍
Honesty. Refreshing. Thank you
The M4 is a beauty, would love to get one!
Woah ladies; calm down. There’s plenty of Ben to go around
