Anyone saying this is a bad trade for the mavs dont know ball. We freeing space so we can resign djj, gettin a young player with potential whos also got good defense(tim literally is a liability on defense), and dumping a really bad contract. Im good with that. Now if we can somehow get grant, that would be a dream offseason. In Nico we trust lol
its a good trade but not a perfect One... we traded 3 second rounders and One of them was the 2025 Toronto pick that was basically a borderline 1st round pick in the most stacked draft in years.... its an undeniably good trade but not an amazing one
We don't need that Grant contract. I'd rather trade for Andrew Wiggins

@@leonardo_mrll i agree.. but considering how nuggets got nothing dumping reggie WITH 3 2nd rounders, i still think it was a good trade we got a pretty good role player out of this. Quentin even seems like he could revive his career if hes put in a good system.

@@gilfordmccormack8140 I’m exited to see grimes on a good squad with a role. He’s a very talented player that I believe can thrive in a good environment and I hope that’s in Dallas. I’m so sad with how he was played in Detroit with rotations. He’s a great player.

Grimes game reminds me a lot of Josh Green, just a little more in control. I like the pickup, though the alternative is really a no brainer, THJ Jr (& Sr) vs Grimes & DJJ
Yeah him and Josh Green are a little redundant but his shot should be more consistent from 3. Teams will actually have to close out on him
He is a better slasher even though he isn’t as athletic as Josh and his defense is what the ideal Josh Green should strive for.

Real solid on defense and can score from 3 and drive to the bucket. Defense and movement off the ball plus driving to the bucket is all better than what THJ can do IMO. Grimes can spot up and drive on the close out and finish. Strong going to the basket.

He’s a pretty good defender not really good. He had confidence issues with the Knicks. I watched every game he played with NY. He will get better but he has to slow down a little with his shot release. Great guy and teammate.
this reminds me of when we got him in detroit i was hyped but then he did all the things ny warned us about . his game is very perdictable even with a open lane he will not finish . like someone stated his Confidence was lost in ny .i dont remember him making one 3 pointer in detroit all i remember is bricks and i mean bricks . i hope he can turn it around cause to me he looked washed .

Honestly, my first reaction was: maybe they could've got something more for THJ, but im reconsidering, if they can get a guy that can shoot somewhat consistently, add a decent defense and happily come off the bench, not a bad trade. Besides, i think he will do better than his time in the knicks if given the opportunity

@@levonharrison5848Detroit is going nowhere anytime soon so they have no problem taking on bad contracts(Especially expiring contracts like THJ) if they get assets back in return. Detroit’s goal right now is to build up assets because the last GM left them dry. They can also trade Hardaway at the trade deadline and if not, they’re only stuck with him for one year and they can let him walk n use that cap space next summer. In order to make big trades for star players, usually you need assets to dangle in front of other teams. 2nd round picks aren’t much but they definitely help

Trust in Nico. Remember, Nico is a continuous improvement guy. If it works he’ll stay. If the player doesn’t work out the 1st half of the season, he will make a trade to make it better.
Obv he won't play more than 3 min on average. This is our 11-12th player.

You haven’t been paying attention since the new CBA memes so I won’t be too hard but this is just what the NBA is like now. The Nuggets had to give 2 2nd’s to get off a 5 mil expiring contract. No one wants to take on extra money and they definitely aren’t looking to help contenders for that.
