  • Here is the Revell 1971 Boss 351 Ford Mustangs that are sponsored from Hobby Nut Models. I am building both of these, right out of the box. More detail painting on these and I used the MCW Enamel.

I am really enjoying this build series. Thank you for sharing how to detail the chassis. I'm planning to do some of this on my next build.

It’s a color combo that I have always liked but with the old MPC kit. I couldn’t get the hood decal to sit down back in the day.

Looking good! That's an amazing detailed kit. I have a 1:1 version, it's dead-nuts-on with many features. 👍

Those are looking great. The traditional grabber yellow and black is nice, but that blue & silver really pops.👍

Looking really good. For mixing paint in a bottle I use Badger's electric paint mixer.

Thanks. That is something I have not tried. I have a bunch of little medicine cups.

@@TheMuscleCarModelerI had a Blazer 94? Last year before the Tahoe came out and it was silver bottom and silver-blue top half it was a awesome and pretty snowplow... Lol That is where I kinda got the idea for the paint job 79 Ford F-150 XLT that has been 1/2 done in its box for 5 years... 😆 Working on that video Tuesday I think. 🤔 Have to ask the production crew... 🤣 Wait that is me too! 🤪

Love this series on the Boss! I'm laughing as I've owned 3 Mach 1's, my 71's were Yellow and Blue! Same colors you have here excepth the blue car had the blue interior. I also had a 73 that was a medium metallic brown. I realize you are building these to stock but, I ran my Yellow Mach 1 with a chrome bumper and chrome trim on the front of the hood and fenders. It really made the black grille pop (think 69 Shelby). Mayber when the Mach 1 version comes out, you may want to consider this. 🙂

My hobby store has ordered 2 of this kit for me, but I haven't traveled there to get them. Should arrive soon, so I'm watching your double build closely.
I've not used MCW paint myself yet, but some channels that post who have used it say it includes hardener already. You can ask around, to confirm, if you like. One thing I've noticed on those channels is it does have very good gloss.
Also, one channel found that even though their color matched, the decals around the hood contrast area show up as glossier than the semi-gloss center paint. You may want to lay down some clear decal over the hood line first, to see if you want to do something about paint gloss before using the actual hood decal.

The MCW paint came with the hardener in a separate bottle. I have already applied the decals on the silver, and it looks good. Will show in the next update.

Looking great. The red does seem darker and more of a brick color with the other colors on the chassis.
