I started working as an IV infusion nurse in the home through another company, about a month and a half ago, and I absolutely love it! I've been a nurse for 5 years and this is by far my favorite nursing position. Love the one on one time I get to spend with my patients. And it's great to see patients where they are most comfortable, in their homes.

Thanks for your service! I have been trained to be able to access and deacess my port on a regular basis to keep it flushed at home, but also will be starting iv hydration at home and looking forward to feeling better. Way to go! Take care!

My port company is going to have a Nurse virtually show me how to do my infusions. I've been watching videos and have a general idea, but want to be shown so I don't get clots which unfortunately I am familiar with due to my blood clotting disorder.

I was trained by my home health provider two weeks after I got my port on how to access, care for and deaccess the port in March of 2018. I have been doing monthly infusions of IVIG at home for maintenance of CIDP (still need inpatient hospital for acute dosing when I have a CIDP exacerbation due to needing closer monitoring than I can do on my own) and also weekly bags of saline (1 liter). It certainly helps me with staying healthier. I'm glad that I can do things on my own without having to go to the hospital/infusion center or even waiting on a nurse to come to my house. It gives me freedom to run my infusions at night although I do wake up periodically to check vitals and my pump/infusion.

This is great! Is there anything similar to this in the Midwest?
