    Good morning, Gary. I am new here, but wanted to let you know I enjoyed watching. Been taking care of a friends. farm as he just went through a surgery for colon cancer. Most of my life I worked and managed dairy farms, so it is nice to be around cattle again.
    Many blessings, Jim

    Good morning Gary, it's 6 am here. Enjoying the video with our morning coffee ☕️☕️ no wonder the ladies🐄 were reluctant to leave. Beautiful endless pasture for roaming. The horses look playful, having fun being outside stretching their legs. Thanks for the ride along, Ben 👍

    Hey Gary!We do the same thing on a much smaller scale, just move half our herd from the north pasture to the south pasture to winter with the rest of the herd by the hay barn and silo. Don't get to go thru any cool tunnels. Enjoyed the video, it's interesting to see how real farmers bring in the corn!😁

    • @tractortalkwithgary1271

      I rent my pastures out so these guys take their cows home for the winter. They will be back… most of them. A couple are too old and the bull went away forever this year. He is 7. Jay doesn’t usually keep them this long.
      Thanks for watching Bill. Hope to see you drop by again.

    How's she goin'? The 4 wheelers are sure handy for doing this sort of work eh. Being able to chase the cattle to far corners of the pastures, I guess a horse or the 4 wheeler can do that, but it would bae hard with anything else. The animals are wanting to stay in the pasture but, like us, they know winter is coming and they need to get ready!! LOL Take care!!

      Even on this quiet county road Bryce, I would hate to have to cross it with cattle.
      Many cars go by here like they are responding to a fire call.
      We have a nearly mile long straight stretch to get them wound up good before the next sharp curve.
      Thanks for watching Bryce.
      I am going to the big consignment auction today.

    We had an underpass just like that at my home farm growing up. That bay looks to have Arab blood. I bet the horses would have loved to move those cows.
    Roundup is a great American tradition.

    • @tractortalkwithgary1271
      @tractortalkwithgary1271  Рік тому

      Thanks Dave.
      The Arabian is much too high spirited for me to attempt to ride him.
      We might be able to ride the paint mare. She is a bit more docile.
      We don’t own a saddle anymore and I prefer to ride bareback anyway. Never liked a saddle.
      Thanks for watching Dave

    I always prefer the mechanical horse over the real ones, no brain to disagree with my mine 😂 thanks Gary great round up experience

    • @tractortalkwithgary1271
      @tractortalkwithgary1271  Рік тому

      Thanks Dana. I actually would have to disagree with you there.
      A good horse is absolutely irreplaceable for working cattle.
      They are very powerful animals and that type of riding takes on big risk of serious injury.
      We have all had horses but both Jay and Kevin would have to haul their horses and I don’t ride either of mine for a number of reasons.
      A good dog is very valuable on a farm too. Our dogs were always working dogs. Their job was to bring the dairy cows up out of the pasture in the summer to be milked both morning and night. In all kinds of weather.
      Thanks for watching Dana. Always great to hear from you.
      By the way, how is the adjustment to living in Florida after living on Alaska going?

    Good evening Gary. Times sure have changed, rounding up with horsepower nowadays and no longer horses. That underpass looked pretty tight. Jobs all done the horses come out to play, what a great life. Have a good one Gary!

    Hey Gary, great video. This brought up some memories! Growing up on the farm. I was helping my neighbor do this a few weeks ago too. I find the older cows who have done this before know the routine. The horses were certainly happy. Take care

    • @tractortalkwithgary1271
      @tractortalkwithgary1271  Рік тому

      Thanks John.
      Yes sir , the horses were happy to regain their freedom.
      We have to lock them in the basement of the lower barn so that we can use the lower barn yard to sort out the cattle.
      It’s always a sad day to see the cows loaded up and moved back out of here. The only good thing is that now I don’t have to open and close the gates when I go down into the woods. The gates can stay open

      I agree about the tunnel seeming so much smaller.
      The Rancher is a tight squeeze to get through there, but it does make it. Saves a lot of steps that way.
      I have been scratching my head trying to figure out who you are.
      Would you send me an e mail and help end this mystery?
      Thanks for watching.

      We had them up in under a half hour. They know they can’t outrun the 4 wheelers so after a short objection from them, they give their full cooperation.

      Thanks Brent. Yes, that was some footage from my last video I threw in to help lengthen it out a bit more.
      I like my videos to be right at or around the 10 minute mark.
      According to you tube data analytics, there is a very small portion of people who will watch a video past the 10 minute point.
      My average watch time on my channel videos is between 4-5 minutes.
      That’s why like on my comments on Ed’s videos I always let him know that I watched in entirety.
      Thanks for watching Brent
