I like how the after looks exactly like any trash you'd find at Walmart

So, you cleaned it with brush and after that just painted it with smaller brush?) Truly amazing restoration

It's stupid to think someone payed ~$600 on these shoes only for them to last a few days to a few weeks. I've seen shoes that were Gucci brand that literally lasted the day before breaking at the seam of the outer sole and main fabric.

The shoes should last for centuries if the price is high like that.. Useless it's just a brand

What about the insole you took out? Was it cleaned & put back? Replaced??

Basically the same way you would restore any leather goods. I would never pay $800 for a pair of Gucci sneakers( basically paying them to advertise their brand ).

Just put inside pillow case and stick the washer using washing detergent, works on my trainers. I once washed my UGG boots in a washer and they came out perfect clean but needed a brush down when dry so not so tough.

Finally, a shoe being repaired instead of replaced.
Brand is ugly in my opinion, but glad it’s not being wasted.

Know this, even when restoring old shoes they still look vintage and need kid glove care over and over again. The day that you realize and decide that they’ve had enough wear and tear and it’s garbage time is a sad day😢

I'd never spend money on shoes like this but honestly? If the brand name (and sunk cost fallacy) causes people to go and get their clothes repaired instead of just replacing them then I'm happy. Cobblers used to be common, people would wear their shoes for years and just keep getting them repaired. Fast fashion has obliterated that and the amount of waste we create because of it is monumental.

Or just, you know, buy fairly durable $30 sneakers and expect them to wear off like all footwear tends to do... because constant friction and stuff...
