#Kansas #CoverBand #TributeBand
This is RECORDED LIVE, folks. Real music performed by real musicians, sharing their gifts and talents with us, keeping this music ALIVE. It takes real guts to take this classic rock anthem on - and so many LLB consortium members shine here, it's hard to decide who to shout out. Sure, you can study the notes on the page - but Mike and the crew get the right feeling, ambience, groove. The synth voicing and guitars are spot-on. The acapella choral intro gave me chills! Mike's voice shines, this lead vocal has some HIGH notes. Man, I wish I had been there to hear and SEE this.. Thanks for another hit, LLB! #bestcoverband #livemusic
Me to, but thank goodness for UA-cam.Kudos to the sound technicians. Does anyone know if they ever tour europe( probably too much logistics) or play just in the States
I'm so lucky to have been there during the annual Labor Day 2023 concert where this was filmed in Wilmore, KY. They recorded it twice back to back to make sure they got all the angles and exact footage they needed. What amazed me was how note perfect both performances were. Definitely blessed to witness this in person! I think there were over 3000 people in attendance. Can't wait for next year!@#
@@LexingtonLabBandis it from the live show Or overdubbed ? Great performance.
@@LexingtonLabBandplease cover the only ones “different girl, different planet”. You guys are absolutely great musicians. I find myself staying up too late going down the rabbit hole and watching your videos 😂. Keep up the great covers. 👍🎸 you guys rock
Filmed live several shoots if you look some day some night. And the vocals are totally redone in a studio. But still a great job.
One of the many things I like about LLB is that they don't look like stereotypical rockers, they look like your neighbors, your friends. Whenever you see them they make your day a little better.
What a great band, none of them tries to "look too cool". Just a bunch of people that look like they love what they do..
Tucker Carlson nailed that first solo
I thought that was him too.
Only a few bands could cover that song that tightly in a studio setting, for you guys to do it live is even more impressive.
It was live, but the recording was through a system, not in the existing acoustics.
It was multi tracked and mixed later like most live performances released these days
To pull this very, very difficult song off, live acoustics or mixed has got to be a heck of job considering the band KANSAS. This is a very difficult song to play, I have never seen any other group to try this song. I requested this song a few months back in the comments and did not think they would do it, but they have just blown me away by this performance. I have seen Kansas many times back in the 70's and this song was my favorite. I'm 70 years old now and still love the songs this band plays. I live in Versailles KY but at my age just could not make the trip a few miles down the road. I still watch and listen! Keep the the good music coming. YOU GUYS AND GALS make an old man like me VERY HAPPY!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. NOW PLAY " DUST IN THE WIND" PLEASE!!!
@@LexingtonLabBandIndeed. The sound the audience heard was undoubtedly very different from what we are hearing here. Still a great cover though.
I doubt even Kansas could sound as close to the studio recording as this is. Great job.
Lexington are the best cover band in the world.🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🏴
Agreed100 😍😍😍😍
Correction - this is a tribute band - way better than a cover band! Cheers!!
I haven’t seen Kansas ever but have heard this song hundreds of times…you know just from the first moments…nailed it!
I’ve seen them two times and they were awesome and so is this band🔥🔥🔥
You guys hit this one right out of the park! YOU ROCK! Thumbs up from me as usual... Stay safe... Rico
Superb ... wow
Those guys on guitars just nailed it string bends and all
This is soooo cooool. Right on LLB. You ALL ROCK !!!!!!! 😎👍
That concert was perfect. Great weather, good food, fantastic crowd, and the best cover band on the planet!!!!
Where was this concert in Lexington??
I feel very qualified to critique this performance. I just went through my ticket stubs and turns out I have seen Kansas live 11 times; more than any other band. Again, Lexington Lab Band did not disappoint. Another great performance by a superb cover band. Seems there is no limit to what they can accomplish. One of these days I will travel to Lexington KY to see them live. I purchased one of their ball caps but it blew off my head this summer during a hurricane and out onto the river it went. As much as I love this band, I wasn’t jumping in the river during a hurricane to retrieve it - lol. I’ll just order another.
Great sound, I love the mix. You are very skilled at balancing the different elements and reinforcing where required and value can be added.
As a former sound engineer I love your work.
Well, all I can say is INCREDIBLE!! One day before I die, I will make it to Lexington Kentucky to see this INCREDIBLE BAND!!
Must admit this band are something special, and so many musicians in one band must be unique. Wont be able to fly to see them live, as i live in Berlin, germany, so thanks to UA-cam. Oh, hope you ordered a new cappy. Reckon i also wouldnt jump in the sea to rescue one. All sorts of lovely creatures just waiting lol 😂
@larysnw418beginning to think this myself now. The Hindleys in Oz are not far behind, but Lex Lab are special
Yes! I'm very qualified too. I've only seen them 5 times, but once was in a small night club with only a few hundred people and once was in the front row of a military theater. I talked to Rich Williams out back while he was having a smoke. Four of my shows were with Robbie Steinhardt. Lexington Lab does it right.
A wonderful tribute to the original artist. You honored them wonderfully and my hats off to you as well
Perfection! I am so glad we made the trip to see this show! I will stand by my comments every day! The best concert I have ever been to!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Don't be shy. I say the same!!!!!!
Us also, best concert that We’ve ever been to
I can hardly wait to see this awesome band 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Wow! Soooo Good. And one of my all time favorites.
Daaaaaaaang! Everyone nailed it! And with everything happening on that stage, mad respect to whoever was on the sound board! That mix was shweeeeeet!!
Awesome Guy's and Gal's..... Great song... great cover...! =)
NAILED IT !!!!!
¹perfection as always
That opening……chills.
WOW,……..how do you……….I mean……….that was……….just amaz………..there’s no way……….WOW!!!
As a long time KANSAS fan, you guys and gals did it right.
Man this is the SHIZNIT!! AWESOME GUYS!!!
Awesome, Kansas would be proud 👏
More like a tribute band
I remember my emotions going from shock to elation when you started this song! One of my all time faves, and you absolutely nailed it!
Starting acapella isn’t an easy skill, well, unless you’re LLB! 😀
Brilliant vocals and musicianship all round (and filmography, of course!)
Wow. Simply wow! And the editing is outstanding.
To the Lexington Lab Band , folks , once again , absolute perfection ! BRAVO !
These guys & gals are reeeeally good. I enjoy everything they do. Keep on!!!
Just pure musicianship.
Live... AWESOME PREFORMANCE !!!
Always a delight for my ears to hear those wonderfuly done covers! This one is no exeption! W-O-W!!!
Mike’s vocals were impressive.
Kansas is such a tight band and you killed it with this version
Excellent !!1 Love that song!
Awesome live performance. You guys and gals NEVER DISAPPOINT!!!👍👍👍
LLB, rockin it Out Live.. 🔥🎸 Hell yeah🎸🔥
Fantastic!! My favorite Kansas song. You guys are awesome.
Love it 🌹 my Favorite is what’s on my mind and Play the game tonight 🌹🌹🌹✨✨
I'm not ashamed to day I shed tears watching you guys perform. That was beyond amazing, esp. LIVE!!! It could have been in a studio; that's how great it sounded.............
Wow. I'm blown away by this band.
Wow, absolutely amazing. My wife and I had the pleasure of being at the recording of this video at the concert. Amazing then, Amazing now. LLB rocks
Oh come on! It’s one thing to throw down in a studio recording where you can polish off the rough edges. It’s a whole other thing to put on this kind of performance live. You’ve officially hit Brit Floyd status in this guy’s eyes. Great work! 👍👏🏻
For the record, according to Rich Williams, guitarist for Kansas, they recorded "Carry On Wayward Son" in a very simple studio. One that they could afford at the time. The recording we all know and love was done in . No looping, no splicing, no over-dubbing, no electronic mumbo jumbo other than to balance out the channels, and certainly no friggin autotune. He did not say how many times they tried, but the fact that they did that song, start to finish, in only one take says a lot. It also says a lot about Lexington Labs' abilities. Bravo to you all!!!
You guys rocked that one to the core!! Wish I could have been there in person!
Wow, I will try to assemble into words what I’m feeling right now. Nope other than I have to listen to it a few more million times.
LLB what a awesome job of carry on my wayward son.
Amazing! Phenomenal! Outstanding! Chilling! Powerful! Masterful! Awesome! Incomparable! Super! ❤
Beautiful Harmonies on The Beginning of That Song Guys. Very Difficult to Sing. !!! Steve Walsh is my All time Favorite Singer. Love This Album !!!!!
.
Well Holy FRAK! This sounds like Kansas.
Thank you for filling me with joy !
Fantastic performance !! LLB never dissappoints
David I couldn't agree more lots of people can play and some can feel the music but this group of people carries both to a whole new level
GUYS awesome job
nuff said
DAMN!! To be that spot on, LIVE on stage… now that was impressive. Beautiful vocals from all of you as well.
I couldn't tell it was a live recording from the thumbnail. Then the video starts, and it's from a concert! A mark of a great band is if it sounds at least as good live as it does in the studio. LLB hit a grand slam home run here. Absolutely slayed! 😯🤯
How I wish I could have been in that audience.Great job on an old favorite!
Whoa! An truly impeccable live performance by an all star cast of LLB members past and present! LLB rocks! 👊🇨🇦
As soon as the video fired up with that opening chorus, I knew that y'all had hit it outta the park. Fantastic job!!
I also have to say that your audio, video, and editing people did a wonderful job, too.
Wow 🤩 that was fantastic!! LLB knocked it out of the park!!! I really enjoyed your version of one of the best songs by Kansas. You guys rock!!! Keep on singing and
making great music 🎵 🎼 🎶 Love from NY ❤❤❤
Love to see the old dudes rockin them guitars, I\m up there to!! Great cover guys you did this song justice
Easily a top 10 all-time favorite of mine. And you guys just killed it. Thanks for a bright spot on a rough Thursday.
As a Kansan that grew up around these guys, you nailed this one. Well done (again) kids; guitars, drums, organ, vocals, etc. all spot on (maybe better) 👍
We were there! Was SOOO looking forward to seeing the finished video!! We’ll be there next year!
The ultimate Moms and Dads band. Unbelievable.
Nails it .... Every..... Time! I love me some LLB!
Is there anything y’all can’t sing? This is absolutely FANTASTIC!
❤️🎵
Not that I'm looking for a poor performance, but they've done a few tunes where before listening to it I've said to myself, "Ohhh....I don't know...", then they cleanly hit a grand slam! This is an amazing band! I've been a musician since I was 8 years old. I'm now 67 years old and for all that time the one thing I listen to more that anything else is the instrumentation and how the piece is orchestrated. This band has all the bases covered. They have amazing talent and versatility. Keep on rocking!
Brilliant to be sure.........good on yer all..............Cheers
Your killing me smalls. With great music. Thank you again
I hope one day I can attend one of your shows, but for now this will do very well.
Goosebumps! LLB, you nailed yet another classic. This is one of my favorite classic rock songs and the song takes me back to my youth in 1976. Vandy, I love how you make the bass more prominent in your mixes compared to the originals. It is like adding a little nitrous oxide to the engine. Keep 'em coming. Since you are covering Kansas, how about covering "What's On My Mind", which is another one of my Kansas favorites.
I just spent 3 hours watching your videos. Enjoyed every minute of it. Maybe I will come to your show in 2024❤❤❤
Again, there's nothing more I can say other than Wow! Perfection!
Freakin' awesome!!! I was grinning ear to ear the whole time.👏👏👏👏
WOW! it doesn't get better than this. PERFECTION!
All your productions are amazing. 👍 LOVE Kansas
Now THAT'S what I'm talking about. EXCELLENT JOB !
So beautiful :) You people all live long and prosper.
Wow that was great. If you ever tour England I’ll deff be there.
Perfect.
Just AWESOME, really brought that one home for sure!
I'm not crying, I just have something in my eye. Stunning. Kudos LLB.
Great job on this memorable classic song guys and gals. 😀
This song is a masterpiece! You nailed it, Congrats.
Saw Kansas twice first in 77 opening act was Pablo Cruise, second time was in 84 or 85 loved each show ! Sure if I got to see LLB they would not disappoint either ❤❤❤
Kansas played the field house at my college in Western PA in 1977. Cheap Trick was incredible as the opening act, then Kansas went on to blow us all away. Anytime I hear one of their songs I’m immediately transported back in time to that night even after all this time. You guys did an incredible job with this song. Every note was true to the original production. Thanks for giving me this brief glimpse into my past when life was much simpler and the world was a safer place. You guys and gals are the best!
Absolutely flawless would’ve loved to seen this in concert live great job by all.
If you ever get the chance, book it! You will not be disappointed! We went to this show and it was the best concert I have ever seen/heard! Mind blowing!
It's absolutely worth it. We drove six hours which isn't that bad. Definitely plan to do it again. The night was perfect, and the crowd was great. Lexington Lab Band was absolutely amazing!
Who is the Lexington Lab Band singer?
Fall of 1976 was a freshman at EIU, and I believe that is when Kansas came to campus. We played Leftoverture in the dorms so I know this song well and you guys nailed it!
Another masterpiece from LLB
Fantastic!! More from your live shows please.
Please!
Holy Crap! That was good!
Are we going to see more concert videos? Please?
Oh something to add, this was performed on my Birthday October 26th. Lexington Lab Band gave me Birthday Present and they didn't even know it. Rocking out to it tonight AGAIN! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
WOW! absolutely amazing. Brought back a lot of memories
Outstanding as always. You guys and gals consistently just NAIL it.
Great day in the morning! This is top shelf stuff. I'm a 60 year old guitar player that has been playing with bands for almost 45 years, and I realize just how much work, skill, and dedication that it takes to do these songs at the level that you guys play them. All bands are only as good as their weakest member, but in your case, there are no weaknesses. Thank you so much for keeping these songs alive for the next generation to enjoy. You have a fan in Arkansas.
The more guitars the better!!!!
This one is out of the Ball Park. Rock ON!!! THE SARGE
Hot Diggitty Dog, LLB! AGAIN you establish your domain in the cover bands music history. That was just the most magnificent cover of Kansas I have ever heard. The acapella intro was absolutely FABULOUS. Very difficult part to do, but as you have SPOILED us previously, you have SPOILED us again. And to the audio guys, you made the experience as REAL as could be, especially in a live performance.
Thank you for such great performance.
Wow, brings back memories of my youth. Thank you !
somehow I'd missed this video....wow, made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. That's how tight and good these guys are.
Oh. My. Goodness. ROCKED IT DOWN ! ! ! That was legit. Had the computer speakers up ALL THE WAY. GREAT JOB, ALL ! ! !
So effing good. Wow. I'm Proud of you all
I've been listening to Kansas since back in the 70s when I saw them live, in Seattle. Although I can definitely tell that I'm not listening to Steve Walsh, it is a very VERY good rendition. I only wish I could hit those notes. 😁
Once again, LLB knocks it out of the park. I know it wasn't a big hit like "Carry on Wayward Son" but if you could think about doing "Song for America," that would be a mighty fine Kansas tune to cover. 🙂
And if the guy on the keys can toss in a few hand stands while playing..... 😉
Great cover, I would have sworn that Kansas was playing if I wasn't watching you guys jam.
