Man he really needs to look where his foot goes
Haha, bet.
I feel like the last episode should’ve given him some perspective on watching his step 😂
Might be gradually planned as his Doctor's downfall
Agreed
Seems to be an intentional quirk of 15 lol
I bet when the camera is going to pan back around, The Doctor will be gone. The scene is just giving off that vibe, espevially with how the Tardis lights are now turned off when the camera panned to that
A second this! We'll see when the episode airs!
Ha ha yes! I might be completely wrong, but it would be such a cool and sinister way to reveal the Doctor dissapearing. @@BEE-oz7yd
Like in the Name of The Doctor.
You know, I was about to say the exact same thing :)
Definitely giving off that feeling
i think you're right
forgetting the year his companion is from is such a doctor thing to do
Camera pans back and the doctor is gone I’m calling it now.
Yeah that sounds about right
Thought the same thing.
First the Doctor will name drop his previous friends and enemies from shows 20 years ago?
@@alanCalhoun2 ?
yep.. you were spot on there
She's reading her own message that she misses the Doctor...and I bet after this scene the Doctor is gone after she reads the note!
Bingo!
I'm calling it now. The grand plot of this season is "The Doctor is Stepping In It!"
Is nobody going to mention that roger gwilliam is an actual character later in this series
He's an actual character in this episode
@@robharris993 i think that that Ruby tries to stop him, i dont think that there is a MASSIVE time skip in the episode
@@WhoooooNerd this episode follows Ruby over 40 years... I think it does
@@robharris993 "erm actually"
Minister of war?
The tardis changes from having lights in the windows and signage and lamp to technically being dead
Good eyes. My guess is that after interacting with the circle Ruby got teleported on another realm of existence because don´t we hear her calling for the Doctor in another preview for this episode?
@@93Chowo I think it symbolises that the doctor has vanished because he stepped on the circle.
@@diamant_2dot0 Oh, so the other way around that the Doctor is missing and Ruby has to figure out how to get him back.
@@93Chowo That's what I think but I'm just guessing. It would be kinda wired though to bring the Tardis with Ruby to another universe but not the doctor
Good catch! I'm guessing this is the moment the Doctor disappears and so the TARDIS dies too... I'm guessing Ruby will turn to look around and notice he's gone and that's what will start the story - cut to title sequence!
Everything we learn about this episode makes it more eerie...
"Minister"?
"2046"... just before the big bat thing
"Nuclear... war?"
OH MY GOD THEY'RE FINALLY EXPLORING THE MINISTER OF WAR MENTIONED IN BEFORE THE FLOOD 😱
Welp, this'll render all those fanfictions and theories I wrote about them pointless 😅
That's what I thought!
While that's a nice idea and I'd love that to be explored, the Minister of War was 2030 whereas Roger is 2046 so 16 years too late for that.
@@friendlyotaku9525that was said in a Doctor Who book, though chances are Russell either ignored it/didn't know it existed. Also, time can be rewritten.
Or maybe there were two Ministers of War. Who nose?
@@friendlyotaku9525 From what we've seen he's based in the present day so maybe what the doctor was explaining is something that's about to be changed in the timeline and he comes earlier than he was supposed to?

Nice reference to where RTD lives - Mumbles
he was deeply inspired by his native lands for this episode ❤
DOXED😂
Turn left vibes through the whole episode
I have a feeling that the Roger character will return because it wasn’t resolved but this whole situation is gonna come back and Ruby will know how to deal with him
I was really like “NOT ANOTHER MINE.”
I've been looking forward to the fabled "Episode 4" since early 2023 when Russell T Davies stated that it was one of the best things he'd ever done.
And now it's just a few hours away. I literally couldn't be more excited. Hardly ever looked forward to an episode quite this way. Last time it was Wild Blue Yonder and I really loved it. Before that - The Woman Who Fell To Earth. Unfortunately
Look, we all hoped Chibnall-era was going to be... well, you know. Not what it was.
And did it live up to your expectations? For me it absolutely did!😄
Naaaah ever seen doctor turnt to a blck gay man its pathetic. Byeee
@@BEE-oz7yd oh it exceeded them even. I couldn't possibly be more amazed.
Vibes similar to my (now second) favourite RTD episode, Turn Left.
This season has such a small number of episodes but I'm so glad that most of them are bangers. Can't wait to see more, especially the finale.
@@SunniestAutumn for real. I was so happy to have Chibnall and Whittaker in Doctor Who after watching Broadchurch but... yeah, we all know how it went
Calling it now, this is the moment the Doctor vanishes for the rest of the episode. Ruby’s gonna look up after reading that and the Doctors gone.

Well you weren’t wrong.
Nicely done!
Man 2 episodes in a row where the plot is kicked off by the Doctor accidentally stepping on ominous circular things
Makes a change from a butterfly.
actually wait, stepped on salt, on a butterfly, on abbey road's stripes, on the mine and on this now... the doctor keeps stepping wrong this season or is it just me?
Did he not learn from the last episode to look where he steps
I've just watched it
I'm still in shock
I'm still a bit confused at the ending
@@DalekCaanOfSkaro I won't say any spoilers for people who haven't watched it yet, but in think we'll understand it more after a while
@@DalekCaanOfSkaro It was so much more intense than I was expecting
Such a good episode. Top of the season for sure.
OK but the doctor Really needs to watch where he's going. 2 episodes in a row he's got himself into trouble because he stepped in the wrong place.
Boom!
Someone cello-tape his legs together so he stops stepping on certain-death.
what are the chances this doctor will end up regenerating because he steps on something haha. also was ruby stepping on the butterfly foreshadowing?
This episode felt like that Sarah Jane adventures episode: The curse of Clyde Langer.
Anyone else notice the TARDIS shutting down in the background? 👀
I didn't at first but I rewatched and it DOES! Is this the moment the Doctor disappears and thus the TARDIS dies too?! 👀
Tardis be like "nope"
My MINI COOPER does that. You have 2 minutes to shut the windows or listen to music and then it shuts down.
I expect the TARDIS is the same.
I'm really liking how this series is progressing ...
0:32 Sound of TARDIS shutting down
That was ncuti saying no
there was also another sound before the "nononono".
could be that, but personally I believe it's actually just an ambience sound effect with no plot meaning.
I love that we get to see another camera shot of the Tardis on the Welsh coast borders like we have in previous eras of the show such as the Series 2 New Earth or Series 11 teaser poster or The Thirteenth Doctor's regeneration in Power of the Doctor.
Love how he keeps asking what year she's from

First a landmine and now this. Punishment for the dance number in episode two?
Spoiler
I still want an explanation to how she ended up there again from her bed to there or how she ended up being the old woman following ruby and why everyone ran away screaming.
I mean i was gonna just leave it at it coming full circle but i dont think thats it.
I’m guessing it’s gonna come up again? I hope so 😂
I think this is all part of Ruby's true nature and we're going to learn more in the finale. This episode is sort of a mid-season lore expansion in a way I think. Great stuff, amazing.
@@Zestieee Lazy contrived nonsense
It's folk-lore logic, not everything needs an explanation.
@@stark_harshly An excuse to be lazy. Also this is a sci fi show 🙄 at least it used to be.
This looks absolutely brilliant. Only a few hours left, can't wait. I'm excited to see where the Roger ap Gwilliam reference goes as well.
This is the episode of this season that I’m most excited for since Russell says that 73 Yards is one of the best things he’s ever written in his entire career. I hope that’s true and is on par with some of his best work not just from DW, but from his others shows like It’s a Sin and Years and Years. Plus, much like Wild Blue Yonder from last year, it’s the episode with the most mystery as we know very little about it and when that episode was released, it became the best of that set of episodes. 73 Yards could be the WBY of this new era of Doctor Who or even the same quality as Heaven Sent if it’s that great.
The Welsh Folk horror intrigues me too. Is the Mad Jack story that’s told in this episode a real folklore from Wales or is it an original tale that took inspiration from an already existing one? We’ll find out in the next few hours. Very exciting.
yeah same here. have been looking forward to this for more than a year now and if it doesn't pay off imma be so mad 😭

Knowing Who, immediately after she says that 16 has just disappeared.
A fantastic episode. Doctor Who have'nt been this good since Turn left in series 4.
Season 5-6 was really good too
First half was fantastic, but the ending made no sense. What did the woman say to scare off her own selfless mother that raised 20+ kids?? What was the relation to Mad Jack in that fairy circle? Why did not stepping on it break the cycle??
@@AFoxhall It was probably a curse and Roger character is still in existence so they’ll probably come across him again in the future
@@kordei-7839Then what was the point of stopping him if he'll show up again? Why did not stepping on the circle break the loop but not stopping him? What's he got to do with the letter and circle?
It feels like an unfinished episode.

The Doctor spoiling the future 😂
This episode is new DW at its best. Riveting from start to finish.
Not only does the lighting in the Tardis go off but there's a subtle shift in the color grade too the whole video gets slightly darker
One of the best episodes for years.

I can't wait for this ep. Loving this series.
Finally a stand alone adventure with the companion RUBY SUNDAY!!!!!! WOOHOO 🎉 Don't get me wrong I love the doctor. ❤ The last time I think we got a stand alone episode was the introduction of the Weeping Angels from the 10th doctor.

15th Doctor steps in it again.
Awesome Episode, no spoilers though.
As much as I'm looking forward to this episode, this dialogue seems a bit clunky. The Doctor starts talking about this specific prime minister in way that clearly makes it sound like he's telling Ruby about it for the first time but is then surprised when he remembers that it actually happens in the future for her, no one would talk about a major historical event that you think the other person knows about like that
As someone else said in the comments it's possible that the Doctor is checking on Ruby's knowledge since he's pretty sure something sus is going on with her but his scans apparently revealed nothing out of the ordinary. It's possible that it's his way of investigating Ruby.
How come he doctor can take a Tardis where he wants.
In the past most of a time it went where was needed
Well Hoss Cartwright in Bonanza used to go off on his own sometimes so why shouldn't Mille.
I thought she did very well.
All the same when I watch Dr Who I expect to see the Doctor.
If they want to have a spin office they can call it Dr Who's daughter and I suspect that is who she is.
So excited for this tomorrow
Maaan the doctor needs to use more sun cream and find jesus too
I wonder if the date checks will come back. Ik they do just reference the modern date in who but the weird time skip in the devils cord might lead to sm…. Or it’s a weird script choice WHO knows
My suspicion is that Devil's Cord was meant to be later in the season, but they swapped it to start before Eurovision because it was a musical episode. :)
Hoping this is good BOOM was the first one i e joyed this ers, love horror so hope it sticks the landing
The Doctor looks more like he should be in a fashion advert than the Doctor.
I wish they just stuck with the outfit from thee Christmas special
Yes me too but the doctor travels and having him change clothes makes more sense than him wearing the same exact thing non stop
I cant wait
what about harold saxon i think he was worse than roger ap gwilliam granted 1 was a timelord
technically saxon was only in office for 8 hours and didn't really do a lot other than some murders, which is obviously putting him near the bottom of the list but i think actual nuclear war trumps that lol
@@fgjsdfgjklI keep forgetting that Harold Saxon really didn't do much!

Okay, so between leaks and probably some of us just guesstimating, there was a lot of speculation about the Minister of War, right?
-
It's a character that is off-handedly mentioned to 12 in the mid/late 2010s by Osgood, but 12 isn't familiar and doesn't want spoilers, so he plans to find out when he eventually runs into the Minister of War. We never got an immediate follow up to this.
-
Fast forward to this episode, I don't think Gwilliam is that character. Unless there's something timey wimey happening since so much of this episode was left up in the air, like the meaning of 73, that gets followed up on later to explain everything more.
-
I think the Minister of War has to happen after Saxon, but still during 12's (or 11's) active "present day Earth" time -- between 2010 and 2017. Osgood says it in a way that suggests this. We also know that the Doctor (from the 50th and the Black Archive) really tries to keep time travel from UNIT. I don't think Osgood would be referring to a prime minister elected in the 2040s when Osgood first mentioned the Minister of War to 12 in the 2010s. Just my thoughts! UNIT even classifies the Doctor's future faces from them, so they are also aware of messing with time things, according to the Star Beast.
-
Anyone have any idea why RTD decided to have there be focus on a hypothetical Welsh nuclear dictator? I feel like we usually get a lot of pro-Wales vibes from the show and I'm just wondering why this route was chosen (like if there's something locally cultural/political in Wales right now that I'm not aware of that inspired the episode).
