I just had mine for less than 2 weeks now... I just love it and, as you showed, the crispy edgy clarity is much fun. The bass adjustment is a must - I did not try an ODR-1 but I would think that it lacks the bass adjustment that this one does. Mr. Wampler does a fantastic job.
@@TheGuitarGeek And as we all surely know, there is nothing better than a crispy icing on on a cake that’s been taken out of the fridge after approximately 3 weeks.
The lack of bass adjustment on the Nobels is why I don't get on with it so well. Luckily, most of the tones I dig from it can be approximately closely on my TC Spark (set it to 'fat' and crank the bass. It can't do ALL the Nobels tones (the Nobels circuit really scoops mids), but it gets close. What gets even closer is the Mostortion (or in my case, the Dano clone). All-in-all, the Nobels is a good circuit, and can do things others cannot do. But I admit it didn't live up to the hype for me as a blues rocker.
Beauty and the beast. I like Phil the drill. 👍🏻 I have had the beautiful Belle for a few weeks now and it’s one pedal I won’t be foolishly getting rid of. There is no reason to because there is nothing better for me. Full gain on the Belle, tele tone knob rolled off, Morley Wah just barely on and it’s fuzz tones all day long. It does everything except metal which is perfect for my style of playing. Great pedal and I 100% agree with you that it’s a must buy/must have pedal. Thanks for the awesome demo. Love your channel. ✌🏻
Beauty and the beast is right, you have done it again Andy, as a blues-oriented player this is a very familiar sound. A great presentation as usual and damn it, I gotta have one, Watching your channel is wacking my pension first the HB tele 62 and now this pedal, oh well bread n cheese this month. Thanks Andy.
Beauty and the beast! I have bought the Harley Benton TE-62 in a (big) way thanks to you, so thanks for that. I love fuzz. It's for sure my favourite sound. But I also just confirmed that my favourite overdrives are the BD-2 and this Wampler Belle. Dare I say they are both secret fuzzes? I just did, so I think I dared. Thanks for another great video!
Excellent video and great performance!!! I just want to say that the Belle is a magic little thing full of killer tones!!! I had the original Nobels which I like it and the mini Nobels which it really disappointed me and I keep the Wampler Belle in my board because it’s just phenomenal with a great powerful EQ,tones of usable gain and a really smart switch side button that makes another difference in this pedal!!! Brian Wampler is a genius!!!🔥🤘🏻🎸
I pulled the trigger on the Ratsbane after your video and recently purchased the Belle. Fantastic pedal. I own the Nobels ODR-1 mini and tried to like it but the Belle addressed the things about the Nobels that wouldn't work for me. I play mostly Les Pauls.
Thanks for the review Andy! The Belle sounds great. The only Wampler pedal I currently own is the Velvet Fuzz, which is fantastic. I might have to pick one of these up at some point as well. They might go well together.
The paper on the nut on the input jack is likely there to keep that nut from contacting the case. Ideally, there will only be on place in the circuit where the case is grounded. If you ground the case in more than one spot, you create a ground loop, which can cause noise.
Great video. I usually watch your channel on my fire stick but made a point of watching it today on something easier to comment from. Beauty & The Beast indeed.
Beauty and the Beast. She's both. On a whim I used the (similarly inspired) Nordland ODR-CC for a punk gig last month. They had an old JMC-800 on the backline, and the tone was as outstanding as yours in this video. I had the original ODR-1 for low-gain amp-like breakup but fell in love with the sweet fat singing medium gain tones in those pedals and this one.
I've had this beauty and beast for about 6 months now and it will not be going up for sale like the hundreds of other pedals I've had. In fact, I'm thinking of getting a second one for my bedroom amp. My only complaint is that I couldn't read the print on the controls from more than 2 feet away and had to add labels of my own. I run it on a switch between three amps; a Princeton Reverb, Marshall Origin 20, and Vox AC10. it plays well with all. Thanks for the video
Great comment! I’ve sold a lot of pedals myself and still wish I had half of them now. I’m finally learning to hold onto things a little longer so I don’t keep making stupid decisions. I miss my Strymon Flint and DIG for sure. So I definitely get where you’re coming from. And yes I am keeping my Belle pedal forever. ✌🏻
Andy... I agree...most overdrives sound the same, however, this pedal sounds really really good...you did an awesome review showing the pedals features...excellent job my man!! I will not say beauty and the beast!!!
Beauty and the BELLEast ... it is in one small package. I was following the original ODR1 for some time, but the pedal has lots of limitations, that here Mr. Wampler seems to solve all. Great demo with showing, why this pedal is worth, if you are in market for ODR1 type of pedal.
I have a belle and love it. I use it for the clean (”belle”) tones. I am really thinking about buying another one for the dirtier tones. If wampler would make a 2 button belle, Brian could give it a true southern name, the double beller.
Beauty and the Beast....hmmm..... for some reason, that rings a Belle. 😁 You've done a better job than Brian himself did to convince me that I'll actually find this useful. Well done, sir!
This Belle de Jour pedal is very pleasing to my ears. For naming your trusty scewdriver I would suggest: "Tone Driver" But Buzzel`s name is agood one, too. The Beauty and the Beast!
The wordplays you made in the top 5 settings when you played the Beauty and the Beast are nearly on Henning’s level. You can decide yourself if you take that as a compliment 😉
I use my Belle all the time! My favourite overdrive :) I’ve done the thing where I’ll go to use another overdrive and then want the Belle straight back onto the board!!! :)
I always thought it as called the Belle because the ODR-1 is such a staple of Nashville session guitarists. Nashville is part of the old South so Southern Belle. Could be wrong.
Whamp that belle right in gain stage let the saturation rage can’t keep this beauty caged she’s a beast from a fuzzy high gain fro To her low gain toes She’s a nashvillian villain On ya board she be chillin. Ring that belle she goes from heaven to hell With all ya other pedals She be stacking well only 9 volts She does draw But her silky sweet tones Your heart she’ll thaw. (In the style of def poetry jam circa 2002) Did I say the thing he said to say?
The review was a beauty and the beast of a pedal that seems to do everything is champion. I enjoyed all of your belle variations to the guitar sounds. Belley Bragg was particularly funny, I am not sure how many will get that one but it really made me laugh so thanks. It's Julian Carmichael I have changed my username. Like deployed 👍 😎🎙🎸✅
If my ears aren’t fooling with the sides of my head, Was that a bit of “Jessie’s Girl” that I heard there? I think I just came up with the perfect name for the drill. How about we call her “Jessie’s Girl”.
"But...but...but... LOOK AT ALL OF THAT SOLID STATE CRAP! THRU-HOLE > SURFACE MOUNT! AND, AND, AND.... " Beauty and the beast think if it sounds good, it is good. And that's all that matters. 🤣 👌

They are both great powerful mini pedals!!!the Ratsbane sounds huge compare to other classic rat circuits…it’s a Mega Delicious drive !!!🤤
Thanks for the review Andy! The Belle sounds great. The only Wampler pedal I currently own is the Velvet Fuzz, which is fantastic. I might have to pick one of these up at some point as well. They might go well together.
It really sings like a bell-e!!! Love that crispy warm tube tone!!

I’ve known for some time that I want a Nobels-style pedal, this review may have given it the edge over a rat. Beauty and the beast indeed!!
The rat is a nobels-style pedal?
Beauty & the Beast. I apparently now need this pedal even though I have the ODR-1. I agree about the Fuzz. I like it.
