    We're doing our first trip next week and you're right -- a lot of the other TDR youtubers I've been watching have NOT mentioned some of this stuff, so thank you!

      I’m so glad it was helpful! I understand that people want to focus on the positives with TDR (there are a lot of them!) but I think a lot of this stuff is really important too!
      Have an amazing time!

    Another thing to watch out for is public holidays in Japan. My first visit I went in Obon holidays in August, nightmare! So check your trip is not within these holidays

    I like Soarin' (prefer the old California version though) but its not worth the typical 120 min + queues in TDS. Can't imagine how long the queues will be for the Fantasy Springs rides when they open. It will be shockingly long, like min 3 hrs probably.

    • @8bitthemepark
      @8bitthemepark  3 місяці тому

      It’ll be interesting because you need a timed standby pass to even get into the queue, so the actual queues themselves might not be so long, because people can’t freely enter them.

    I remember hearing before that Soarin and Toy Story Mania are basically the same at DisneySea as they are at the American parks so I’ll most likely skip them whenever I end up going to Tokyo Disneyland.
    I have a question that hopefully you can answer for me. Do you know how long The Haunted Mansion usually closes to become Haunted Mansion Holiday? I personally would prefer to go when it’s the original, at first I was wanting to go to Tokyo Disneyland in September the month of my Birthday, but since I’d assume that Haunted Mansion is likely either the holiday version or under refurbishment in September, I might go in a different month.

    • @8bitthemepark
      @8bitthemepark  9 місяців тому +2

      Soaring does have a beautiful queue and preshow, and a finale in Tokyo, but other than that the ride is identical yeah.
      This year Haunted Mansion was closed August 10 - September 13 for the transformation. Last year was similar (August 15 - September 13) and then it changes back in January so if you want to see the classic Mansion you should visit between February - August. (I’d recommend April)

    • @ryanstreasures2491
      @ryanstreasures2491 9 місяців тому

      @@8bitthemepark Thanks for letting me know and for giving me an April recommendation! I might try to go sometime in April 2028 then, as I’d assume they’d have nice stuff up for the 45th anniversary that month.

    • @8bitthemepark
      @8bitthemepark  9 місяців тому +1

      @ryanstreasures2491 I hope so! The 40th was a little lackluster compared to previous anniversaries, but I’m optimistic about the 45th! You’ll be able to ride the new Space Mountain too! 🚀

    • @ryanstreasures2491
      @ryanstreasures2491 9 місяців тому

      @@8bitthemepark Yep! I’m honestly not too upset about missing the current Tokyo Disneyland Space Mountain, as you mentioned in a video here that it’s the same track as Disneyland Space Mountain, which I’ve been on.

    2:13 OMG! The one ride that I’ve been wanting to ride for years, planned to ride multiple times when I go, and will only get to come here once in a lifetime will be closed from Feb 2024 to Sept 2024?!?

    • @8bitthemepark
      @8bitthemepark  8 місяців тому +1

      Yeah that one is really disappointing, especially because it’s a high capacity ride right next to Fantasy Springs, seems like poor timing

    • @UmmYeahOk
      @UmmYeahOk 8 місяців тому

      @@8bitthemepark That’s what made it so great! Short queue times, if any! That’s why I was going to ride it more than once. I am planning on going late May/early June, and Fantasy Springs has me both excited and scared. If I miss the opening, odds are good the attendance will be fine as people will want to wait and go then. If I make the opening, yeah, that’s cool, but the place will be packed, and I may not even get a chance to see it anyway, but other attractions may have shorter lines.
      But such a lengthy closure… …are they retheming it again? This doesn’t seem like a refurbishment in any way.
      BTW, I like your channel, and subscribed. I’m surprised it hasn’t made it to monetization yet, but I feel like it’s only a matter of time before it will, like before 2024, as the content I’ve seen so far is definitely up there in quality. You’re sure to reach that 1000 subscriber count in no time!

    • @8bitthemepark
      @8bitthemepark  8 місяців тому

      I don’t think it’s a retheme. Pirates went down for a similar amount of time recently and nothing had changed, just just replaced the roof. I think they might even be extending closures to cut costs but that’s just speculation.
      I have similar feelings about Fantasy Springs, especially because I want to get lots of footage of it as well as just enjoying it myself! FWIW I think it’ll open in April but we’ll see.
      Thanks so much for the kind words! Monetization in 2023 was the goal but I’m just so pleased to have found wonderful people like you!

    • @UmmYeahOk
      @UmmYeahOk 8 місяців тому

      Definitely hoping for an April opening because I don’t want to have to deal with not being allowed to shop (getting a return time, as mentioned, and long lines from all the people who have to be first). That and maybe the crowds won’t be as insane since it’s also not Sakura or Golden Week.
      As for the channel, realizing just how few videos you have, the amount of subscribers is pretty impressive. I don’t know what your watch hours are like, but I definitely watch beginning to end. I also understand quality versus quantity, so while a video a week is probably not doable in your case, I think if you set a goal of two videos a month, you’ll make it to 1000/4000 fairly quickly. This channel’s quality feels like you’ve done this before, and have experience elsewhere. And yeah, I’m sure footage of Fantasy Springs will definitely bring in a ton of people if you can upload it in a timely fashion. I look forward to your next video 👍

    • @8bitthemepark
      @8bitthemepark  8 місяців тому +1

      Usually when the shops are using Standby Pass it’s when merch is BRAND new (like that day) and it also only applies to the few shops in the park selling new merch. I hope next year they’ll sell the Fantasy Springs stuff all around the park to make it easier.
      I’m currently trying to speed up my process as I’d love to get videos out more frequently, just trying to get that balance of quality vs quantity which will take some time to get right! I’m very committed to the UA-cam thing though as I know that there’s not much content about Japanese theme parks! Thanks again for your support, you’ve put a big smile on my face today!! 😁

    What payment method you used for the Premium VIP Pass? Will credit cards with Amex, Visa or Mastercard be accepted?

    • @8bitthemepark
      @8bitthemepark  9 місяців тому +1

      I’m not sure what you mean by ‘Premium VIP Pass’, are you talking about Disney Premier Access, or the Vacation Package?
      I’ve always used a Japanese card but I know foreign cards can be fickle in the app, regardless of whether it’s Visa or Mastercard or whatever, but you can buy all this stuff at guest services in the parks with ease.

      Honestly just the spider scene. Much prefer Magic Kingdom’s endless stairway. Everything else looks great!
