I just love watching how much Steven loves Brendan.
I know I shouldn't have but I laughed when Doug tried to kick Ste out and Ste was just like "It's my flat!"

That first scene is so powerfull in so many ways! Brendan's anger, Ste saving him from himself and Doug watching and thinking ' What they have.. whatever they have.. I can never compete with that..
I love how it was Ste who instigated the hug and Brendan fiercely hugged him back!
It's not Doug's fault that he believed a police officer but the REAL reasons why he did it, his persistent jealousy and insecurity, are what make him culpable. Ste is very right in pointing out that Doug was once a drug dealer himself and could very well have sold someone bad drugs yet he never considered that and he doesn't hold himself responsible for any of his mistakes. All he does is cry and whine and cry some more. Even without Brendan in the picture, Ste would've gotten tired of that eventually.
Walker is, of course, the one mainly responsible but since Doug only helped him for selfish reasons, not because he was doing his duty as a concerned citizen, he isn't without fault. Like Ste said, he could've just stayed out of it.
They need to bring Cheryl and Brendan back for cameos. They are great actors and I am sure they are doing well. But it's a fan thing. Also the Chemistry between Ste, Cheryl and Brendan is excellent. Very natural.

I love how Steven held on to Brendan for dear life when Brendan kept pushing him away, Bren screamed ahhhhhhh! Steven kept saying no Brendan, no, I am not going to let u go. The look on Doug's face is priceless! Translation is: Brendan don't do anything stupid please, I love you! I don't want u to go to jail, I need you in my life Brendan, please don't shut me out! Think about us Declan, Ches and I. I love you! And I know u love me too! You've proven that by been willing to take a bullet for me.
Yet Doug still married Ste after witnessing that scene between Brendan and Ste in front of the police station. A blind man could see the love between those two, and it was only a matter of time until they gave in to those feelings.
Oh, and I loved how Brendan asked Ste for guidance when he said "what am I supposed to do?"....it's almost role reversal from when Ste asked Brendan what he should do when he found out Rae was pregnant...god, I love their connection...
Walker blames Brenden for his brother dying, well his brother was a addict he could have gotten the drugs from anyone, not just Brenden. Plus Ste was right, guys like what Doug used to be are the ones who sold the Drugs in the first place.

Seriously though, Doug's face at 1:06...realization of how strong Ste and Brendan's bond is. The exact moment.
at the point when Brendan wants torun after Walker & Steven stops him; I think Doug realizes the Steven & BB are never going to be over each other. Only Steven could help BB focus on what he needs to be doing right then & there.

I genuinely think that Ste is the only one who can calm Brendan down when Brendan is at full force. It reminds me of that scene from the Hulk, when Bruce is the Hulk and is at full rage. He sees Betty and he calms down and turns back into Bruce. Ste is Brendan's anchor, the one to keep him grounded when he goes off.

I agree that is why i mentiond the groups i did they may go by diffrent names but can really help.
that way a man can see he isnt alone. the first few times i had to speak up in group i couldnt even sit in a chair i had to be on the floor against the wall by the door. i was shaking and scared the entire time but things do get better and it is the past and we get to decide how we live and we can get control back and most importantly we are Not Alone :)

Yes he did live with Cheryl, his dad and his step-mom growing up, but we don't know what age he moved in. We assume he was 10 years old or younger. He never lived with Nana, except in the summer time along with the rest of his family, because the house in HO Later was a vacation home.

Wow, that was a fight...Ste and Doug need to talk if they are going to work it out. Hate that Brendan said love makes you weak, because last time I checked he was running around trying to saved everybody after being blown up. Ste helping Brendan out by stopping him from doing something stupid was so amazing, can totally see why Doug feels left out, and Ste calling him out wow.
So what you really meant was that Ste isn't actually Brendan's anchor, he doesn't always calm him down, but he thankfully managed to do so this one time.

you know what I like about this whole turn about. it really is about how everything is related. Brendan saying to Declan is not his fault but Cheryl ask him how he got the drugs. Doug blaming Brendan but Ste saying he same someone sold drugs and worked side him. Ste got the gun and it all play in a circle. really smart writing.
"Walker pointed that gun in my face because of you Doug." - I'm always team Ste, always. But that's one of the most illogical sentences ever uttered on 'Oaks.
I think someone willing to give their own life 4 yours and saving yours, more than makes up for "beating someone to a pulp" a long time ago, or "beating a pregnant woman to a pulp & cutting her hair off" a long time ago".
Ste is better off with someone who loves him enough to die 4 him. Not many people would taunt a killer into killing them so they wouldn't kill the one they love.

No, she's definitely not leaving. Something big is supposed to happen with her character near Christmas. And she's supposed to get a love interest, but that was probably referring to Nate in HO Later. Maybe he'll come to Hollyoaks? They had great chemistry.
People jump on opportunities to criticize Doug because they see him as preventing the reunion of Ste & Brendan. If you find this unfair, you can be another voice in the wilderness.
yea lol, one thing with ste's personality is that when hes mad just like brendan he lashes out but he tell it as it is. when he calms down he will think about what he said and realize maybe he was abit too harsh.

And it's not exactly the first time Doug as done this. Remember the Silas murders? Doug could've made sure Silas was put away for good. Instead, he was blinded by his vengeance against Brendan and decided he should act as judge and jury and then used that text to help mount a case against Bren for the murder of Becks. Doug knew ALL along Bren wasn't responsible for her death.
I have never heard Mercy called pathetic because of her crying. I have heard people call her pathetic because of doing what she does and then crying. But no one has ever called her pathetic specifically because she cries. It is sexist telling Doug he needs to man up among other things just because he cried.
Doug has cried while telling Ste he loves him because he thought Ste was going to leave him/he was confused about his sexuality. It was never a simple "I love you" that lead to tears.
People keep siding with either Doug or Brendan, but the truth is, Ste will never move on. Ste makes the decision to help Brendan time and again even when he has the chance to move on. As long as Brendan is around, Ste will always go back to him, even if its not in a romantic way. Doug never really stood a chance.
ste tried to kiss brendan, ste went to the hospital to tell him he is engaged with that sad look on his face as if he is feeling guilty, ste brought his x to his house to take care of him knowing that brendan wants him back , yes no need for jealousy , they can sleep together, fight and hurt each other and be friends.
I hope Hollyoaks continues and Emmett doesn't tire of his role and decide to move on to something else before his winding path toward healing is well underway.

Isn't it funny how people see things differently. After Leanne told Doug he had one thing that Brendan didn't was "Commitment" & after that was when Doug asked Ste to marry him. 2 me-it was almost a form of blackmail, they haven't been together that long & Ste didn't look thrilled at first, but he was caught-either say no & have Doug cry or say yes, & keep his options open 2 give him time 2 see if he really loves Doug- or Brendan.

Oh okay. Well I didn't see that comment. I don't even know who Betty and Bruce are. Stendan is visceral, intense, violent, dramatic, tragic, passionate, etc and that's why I love them. If I wanted cute and fluffy I'd go elsewhere.
gosh that first scene broke my heart. It really shows what brendan and Ste have is just beyond words. he is right, Brendan needs to think about what he is doing. its sad, after he said about what he is suppose to do it really showed how messed up he is.

Doug is absolutely not to blame for being fooled by Walker. 1. Practically every movie and t.v. show has good cops going rogue to catch the bad guy, and being applauded for it, so no reason for him to think Walker was a bad guy just because he was operating left of field to catch BB. But 2 and most importantly, Ethan was his friend. How the hell would he know what good cop work looked like? And a thousand times yes about communication.

I feel really bad for Ste, but at the same time I don't think it's right for Doug to blame Brendan for Riley's death. I mean after all, Brendan did save Ste. Shouldn't Doug be a little grateful? :P And poor Declan. He always comes into a messed up situation.
Ugh, what worries me is Brendan's little speech at the end about love making you weak. I hope he's not going to regress and try to stop loving people in his life or leave. I feel something shady coming on BB...don't do it! You must love Ste!!!!!!!!!
Exactly. Walker wanted to relate to Brendan to gain his trust, so he pretended to be married with kids and a closeted gay man just like Brendan. That's why he kissed Brendan passionately in BB's office shortly after Joel found out about Walker being married (the conveniently mislaid ID card). If I'm remembering correctly that is. Basically Walker's whole relationship with Brendan is an elaborate lie.
Yeah...way back in 2010 when Brendan was forcing Macca (BB's male lover before Ste)
to leave town Ste got between them and yelled at BB to stop threatening Macca , and Brendan did. Then Macca told Ste he (Ste) was really in trouble cause Brendan was in love with him. I just re-watched that episode this past weekend.

Brendan had that coming due to his past actions and I do see him evolving to the better side but he's broken it would take a long time to heal & he might not be able to pull through without having somebody he loves at his side .Ste needs to make up his mind about who he loves .Walker was just a lost soul seeking revenge for his dead brother who was a victim of his own dangerous decisions!
Beating someone to a pulp is more acceptable to many people commenting here than being insecure. The former can be labeled as "in the past," whereas the latter is ongoing.
I'm beginning to think Ste might be better off with both Doug and Brendan out of his life. Then again, it's really unfair to blame Doug for being fooled by Walker.
Doug should have talked with Ste about what he was doing. Of course, no one communicates well with anyone in Hollyoaks. Communication would undermine the drama.

I have to say tho, in Ste defense he didn't run around after him till he got hurt. Doug been insecure from day and that as well as his jealousy got worse. nothing is wrong if he wants to help Brendan but Doug being insecure and jealousy blinded him. i think Ste does have love for Brendan but doesnt mean he wants to be back with him.
Doug was just jealous when he saw how mad Brendan was getting out of the police station! And when he saw that Steven was able to calm Brendan down! And he hugged him! He couldn't stand that Ste was able to do that for Brendan! And that jealousy is what made him do what he does! Doug knows! He knows Steven still loves Brendan! And Brendan loves him too!
Considering how many times Declan has come over without Eileen or Brendan knowing that's not that surprising. But it does seem that the writers have dropped the ball when it comes to Eileen, Brendan, and the boys.

Feel so bad for Doug, Ste had no reason to blame Doug for anything that happened. He thought he was protecting Ste, he was tricked by Walker. Ugh! Ste really pissed me off blaming everything on Doug.
that is what bugs me which makes what Ste said right. its not like Ste didn't show him any attention or compassion but he also knows Brendan and tried to calm him down before he did anythign bad again without thinking and I think Doug taking out his pain on still is what cause the reaction and Ste to just go off. Ste ain't the type of person to hold back when he got a bone to pick with you.
And lets not forget that Doug was sitting on a bench feeling insecure (what a surprise) & Leanne of all people -advised him to give Ste something Brendan couldn't give him-commitment (I myself think Brendan could) & of course Doug takes silly Leanne's advice & right after that he proposes to Ste, which puts Ste on the spot.
I thought Ste was on his best form tonight. The Stendan scene was amazing and I love how Ste can calm Brendan down. Doug and Ste fight has been waiting to happen for a while now and all Ste did was tell the truth.

Doug just thinking of himself as a victim, not actually worrying about anyone else.Even after finding out Riley died he still hates on Brendan..Brendan was partially to blame, but you got to give him credit for putting the ones he love before himself.
Declan is one beautiful boy and I hope this time he will stay longer:::)))) I think he is /gonna be a good actor. Can't he just move in? Maybe I am the only one, but I am going to miss Walker badly. I still like the man, he's just so crazy and lost.
I hope that there will never be a Stendan again. Ste has been seeing Brendan behind Doug's back. It doesn't matter why he's been seeing him. Brendan was his ex lover or his ex abuser. Ste accepted Doug's proposal to get married. Ste's allegiance belonged to Doug, not to Brendan, especially since Ste knew that Doug didn't want him to see Brendan and/or have him in Ste's life. Think of this as if it was a man and woman engaged. They should break off with every other entanglement with their ex.

I totally agree. I know people prefer Stug but I prefer Stendan. I know what Brendan did to Ste in the past was not cool and I do not condone it. However, Brendan is not the same anyone pertaining to Ste. He no longer abuse him because Brendan does not hate himself for being gay anymore but he has embracee his sexuality. I believe in Stendan because they bring out the strength out of each other and being a better person.
Before I start, I am a Stedan fan. I have a hypothesis: I do not think Ste and Brendan will get together again because if the character Brendan will not be on the show in the future. It will not make sense unless they are going to have Brendan and Ste leave Hollyoaks just like John Paul and Craig. I did not hear anything about the actor who play Ste leaving the show.

i will say this...Ste is not afraid of getting in BB's face. he's (BB) worked so hard to become so strong/tough, and put up so many walls to keep people out. but, his achilles heel/silver bullet has always been his family and Ste. insecurity is lethal to a relationship and Doug is finding out the hard way. Ste has a big heart and is full of love..BB is the first man he's ever loved, cut him some slack. there is plenty of blame to go around, but pointing fingers never helps the situation.
too funny that you said he heals like Wolverine (still giggling at that one), but when that adrenaline starts pumping you can forget about the pain. i'm sure after he's calmed down, he'll be aching again.

I'm torn. I don't think Doug was wrong for trusting what a cop said considering Brendan is a really violent guy (who apparently heals like Wolverine) in his eyes. But Ste is right, it was hypocritical of Doug considering he use to deal for him. He's not aware of B killing anyone so his motivations were probably strictly personal in terms of simply getting rid of B. I think that's what Ste sees and he's rightly upset because he nearly died from Doug's insecurity.
Yes! Douglas is absolutely to blame! Here is why! It's not the fact that he helped Walker! It is his motive for helping Walker, he was trying to get rid of Brendan by any means necessary! Had he not been blinded by jealousy and insecurities, he would have been able to think, and know that Steven, the person he claims to love, would be affected, and or hurt by his choice. He knew Steven and Brendan had a relationship, and he should had stayed the fuck out of it, and say to Walker no thank you!

Yes, I do, Brendan is very wrong to beat Ste, I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about after everything that has happen between them. That in that moment that Brendan was about to do something very stupid that would help no one and just make things worse. It was Ste who stopped him and sent him to be with Declan.
I hear ya i wish she would just cool it and accept him as he is. Cheryl never knew what thier dad did to Brendan and that exlpaines why he had been so mean in the past but Brendan is becomming a better man mostly i think because of his love for Steven. If Brendan was a real person he probably wouldnt go to therapy but a MAC (men abused as children group) just for men OR
AMAC (adults molested as children group) is for men and women could really help him get past it and live a happyer life.
Yeah I was just saying what Walker did in the actual plot, not saying he was correct. I definitely know Brendan is out now and comfortable with his sexuality. I've watched this whole storyline multiple times. And why did my comment receive negative votes? I was just stating what actually happened on the show and agreeing with a comment. WTH
