I really love this episode, there was so much said without actually saying it. Brendan saying about what's right in front of you, trying to tell Ste what is he thought was important to him. Ste saying those things about Brendan was true, it's not a matter of trying to see it but understands. Eoghan can be annoying but all what he said was true and something to think about. I am glad Cheryl gave him that ultimatum. It's not Brendan doesn't want him he doesn't thing he can be fixed.
Even if Doug interrupted it, that Stendan scene was beautiful. I will never get over the way Ste looks at Brendan with so much longing and wonder. "Sometimes what you're really looking for is standing right in front of you." *delicious Stendan shivers all over*
I worry for Cheryl when she finally finds out why Brendan is the way he is. From what I know she adores their father and Brendan has worked so hard to make sure she never finds out the truth. He's been protecting her since he was a child. It's going to hit Cheryl hard to find out the truth about her father. But Cheryl and Eoghan are right, Brendan needs some serious professional help and he needs it now.
Why, Bren, WHY?? I can't believe he went ahead and slept with him even after Ste and Cheryl walked in. Why is he so damn self-destructive? And Eoghan is so damn petty and bitter. Glad they didn't make him stick around for too long. Why couldn't Doug stay in America? He's such a wet blanket. He already managed to bring the mood down and he was only in it for a minute.
I'm excited for the therapy storyline. Finally Brendan can tell Cheryl what happen to him as a kid and she will finally understand. Then she help him! He does need some therapy lol.

I do not think Ste will marry Doug. Doug should not have gone to California without Ste. Ste and Brendan have become even closer. Ste sees the changes in Brendan. He will always have a temper,but so does Ste. They just have learn not to hurt each other anymore. Doug was what Ste needed at the time. He does not need doug anymore. His love for Brendan is stronger than anything he feels for doug. It is time for Ste and Brendan to get back together!
I like this idea. I love this friendship developing b/t Bren and Ste; this is what should or could have developed b/t them when they were involved. I think Bren's still got some serious stuff coming down the pike, & and like you said, when he's cornered and pressured, he'll lash out. He's going to need Ste's friendship as a safe place to fall.

You got this half right. It wasn't just Doug interrupting Ste and Brendan. The irony and humor in Doug's timing is that he "ruined" it for Ste and Brendan, *and* Brendan "ruined" it for Ste and Doug. Doug and Brendan are like oil and water. They don' mix. And the situation cut both ways.
I agree, they said both things that needed to be said because anything can happen and it can go both ways. I like that they can of said it for the viewers to think about it. people who have alot issues need to know there are people there to help them no matter what. people give up on people who really need them too easily, regardless how Cheryl is tho I respect her to try to see this through and still being there for him.
Pointless shock value? The recent most important events all happened on Hollyoaks Later, which upped the quality of the show by a notch-something I wouldn't have thought possible.

It's arguable that she let his father 'kill' him when he was a kid, b/c she never said anything. I see that as the psychotic break it's going to take to redeem him. That moment was worse than when he killed Danny Houston for its silence & serenity. He was overwhelmed: the holiday home where the worst abuse took place, fighting w/ Cheryl, trying to get over what he'd done w/ Mick, the tension w/ Walker, then his Nana tells him she's sorry for letting him get abused. It's bound to break anyone.
also Brendan resistant to getting therapy is very much real for most people. He is a man in his 30's and how he was grown up, I expect him to be like this. I hope he does show up. I know he wouldn't do it for anyone except Cheryl so don't let her down Brendan. I know he is scared but I hope he can try.
HO. Later is on another grander hill top over regular H.O First Blood definitely goes to Brendan there. I just, words cant express how much those 5 epi made more sense than all the H.O writings combine.
I have to agree Doug needs to dump Ste. Ste has never truly gotten over Brendan and you can't marry someone hoping it will help you fall out of love with someone else. Everyone keeps telling Ste he still has unresolved feelings for Bren (love) and he is so deep in denial that he can't see clearly.
Personally I don't want Stendan romantically together at this point and time. But I got to admit that Emmett and Kieron are amazing together even if it's one short scene. They really are pure gold together and thankfully I don't see that ever stopping.
I really feel for Doug. He has come across as quite needy and broken, but these people exist in the real world. It takes a certain kind of person to understand how to embrace that side of another human being. As much as Ste has claimed to "love" Doug, these past few weeks have seemingly put a nail in that coffin. They are just too different. I'm sure we'll see more of this come up down the line. I'm hoping they don't just kill/ship Doug off, but who knows. At least Stendan fans can be happy now.

Loved what Sre said to Brendan about him needing Cheryl and even Eoghan's warning to Ste about Brendan being like a wounded animal. So perfect.

Maybe eventually, Ste and Brendan could get back together, though at this point it's hard to see how that could go well. What's perfect about this show is that nothing is ever perfect. I know someone who was abused by his grandfather, and his mother didn't just know, she held him down. I want to see Brendan get better.
I'd like to think of Doug & Ste as a story to follow regardless of how it interlocks with all the other pieces in the big Hollyoaks puzzle. Granted Doug makes that difficult to do. I feel sorry for Doug a lot of the time, but I'm tired of how he carries around his own little storm cloud wherever he goes. Seriously, Doug, it's not a coincidence it's always raining wherever you are.

I can even watch it from my xbox. It's so worth it.
Exactly we have no way of knowing how much Brendan protected Cheryl. Perhaps Pa Brady wanted to do to Cheryl, what he did to Brendan. Maybe not, but finding out that your father sexually abuse your brother when you were children is enough to mess with anyone head. Cheryl has a decent relationship with her father to find that he's the main cause of Brendan's dark behavior will shake her to core. She might even feel guilty that she didn't in some way stop it when they were kids.

Even if Ste still loves Bren,its things like this that makes him realise that he is safer with Doug. He wants normal,and Brendan is far from that notion.
It was just a sleep over. Cheryl couldn't handle that BB slept with Eoghan and Ste was just being supportive. Ste is gay and I think he's been longing for Brendan for forever. Weird, when he's with Doug he was never that bias towards him. I think that's why Doug gets jealous, coz he never received half of that faith that Ste has with BB.

I do agree with the fact they seem too different imo. I think he does love Doug but differently from Brendan but I feel like but I feel they are too different I guess is why I feel like they are not suited for each other so much, regardless brendan or not.

Although I am a Stug shipper. I do appreciate that Brendan is now able to talk to Ste without all mind games. I mean would that conversation in the deli have happened just a couple months ago, really? I don't think so...and I'm not talking about the "standing right in front of you" part I mean before that.

One of the things I hate about this show is how they romanticize and propagate the idea that you can change your abuser by staying with them. Ste and Brendan is just a worse version of JP and Craig.
I believe that's what the therapy storyline will lead to, Brendan telling Cheryl about the sexual abuse. At least I hope so.

This new guy annoys me. WTF does he think he is? Thinking he saw the worst in Brendan, like he has been in Ste's position. Ste was the one to see the worst of controlling Brendan, because Ste was the only one who Brendan cared enough to control. I am not defending Brendan, but this "bitch please, been there done that" attitude of this new guys annoys me.

i dont get one thing ,how is possible Bren n E keep on doing ,after visiters came (and leave them alone fast?) In the beginning of epi. saw white shirt on the floor , Brendan was wearing black one 0=0 it was surprising after last night episode
