Thank you so much for this video! I changed out both bladders in my '98 S420 last night. It took me 3 hours start to finish. The original bags (1997 manufacture date) disintegrated on removal. This was almost certainly why my PSE pump failed twice in the last 3 years. I also pulled the dead PSE pump and shipped it out for repair, so I should have it back in a few days. It's important to know, the bladders are the first and most likely failure point in the W140 PSE system. When they start to leak, your PSE pump runs more than it should, and burns out. This wipes out: seat bladders, central locking system (doors, trunk, gas cover), trunk release, rear headrest releases, HVAC flapper valve controls. Since the alarm is connected to the central locking system, you also have to pull fuse #15, which wipes out your alarm, cabin and trunk lights, and one-touch window controls. So having good seat bladders (of all things) is super-imporant to the comfort, features and operations of this car -- not to mention the comfort of the seats. I wish I'd replace mine when they first went out years ago. It was cheap and easy. I'd taken the car to 3 European car shops, and noe of them would work on the PSE system. Two of them didn't seem to understand how the systems even worked. I wouldn't have tried doing this without this video for guidance -- so THANK YOU!

303 is an absolute MUST for any older Benz owner. Never thought to let it soak in before. Good tip.

This leak issue is the number one reason our vacuum pumps get burned out.

The Service manual recommends using an 8mm open ended wrench to undo those snap connectors!

I switched from a metal wrench to a plastic trim tool due to the age and brittleness of the plastic parts on the W140!!
