  • I'm getting ready for Philmont. It's a BSA high adventure camp. One of the packing list gear requirements is a sewing kit. I saw this one online and had to try it out.
    Included in the kits is:
    2 Buttons
    2 Sewing needles
    2 Safety pins
    3 Straight needles
    Thread (heavy duty)
    Thimble
    Seam ripper
You can find this kit on Moosejaw, Amazon and other camping websites.

I’ve settled on a #10 sail needle I got from self reliance outfitters. Just thinking about how to carry it? I like the video but I think a straw from Macdonald’s and some gorilla tape to secure it will fit better for me. lol I don’t intend to use it 🤞🏻😂 and I’m going to carry dental floss anyways. 🤷‍♂ Still thinking. Thanks for the video!

The container does appear a bit flimsy... how did it hold up?

It's held up well. I've had it for about 2 years now with no cracks or broken parts to the container. I carry it in my day pack every campout just in case I need it.
