Therm-a-rest pillow old vs new design review.

I have had the thermarest pillow for about 7 years. It has been a nice go to pillow when I wanted pillow simuar to what I have at home, but was lighter, and could be compressed into a packable size.
Old thermarest pillow details:
Small- Measures 12x16x4 inches when expanded, and 13x4x4 inches when compressed. It weighs about 7 ounces.
Medium- Measures around 14 x 18 x 4 inches when expanded, It weighs approximately 9 ounces.
Large- Measures about 16 x 23 x 4 inches in its expanded state, and 16 x 7 x 7 inches when compressed. It weighs around 12 ounces.
XL or Extra Large- Measures 16.5 x 27 x 4 inches when expanded, and 18 x 7 x 7 inches in its compressed state. It weighs about 15 ounces.
New thermarest pillow details:
Small- Measures around 15 x 11 x 5 inches when expanded. It weighs approximately 7 ounces.
Regular- Measures around 18 x 13 x 6 inches when expanded. It weighs approximately 10 ounces.
Large- Measures around 22 x 15 x 7 inches when expanded. It weighs approximately 15 ounces.
Overall thoughts.
Old pillow review:
I like the old thermarest pillow design better. The stitching seems like it is better quality.
The pillow feels full and head is well supported. The only negative I have about the old design is that they stopped making the old design.
Cons:
They don't sell the old style anymore!
New Pillow review
It compresses down well. It's easy to sinch and adjust the firmness or softness of the pillow. The negatives are after I made the video a piece of ribbon on my new thermarest pillow used to help sinch it down broke. It doesn't affect the way the pillow works, so I will leave it as is, but was disappointed in how quickly something broke on it. Especially since I had only used it one time. I got a chance to use the new pillow on a campout and it was comfortable. I feel like the old design is a little firmer. They probably make the new one less firm with the thought that you will sinch it up if you want it firmer.
Overall, I think the new one will work well, I'm just disapointed that they don't still have to old design option available since I feel it was a better design and the sinching wasn't necessary. Who knows though, after some more campouts with it I may change my mind and really like the sinching part of the pillow. I know my youngest is ready to take it off my hands. He loves it. lol.

Oh thank goodness for your video! I just bought one of the newer models and thought I was crazy for not understanding how to pack it up right. Turns out it’s done a little differently from the older models.

Nice review of these pillows. Not sure about saying tooken over instead of taken over? Lol. The only downside is the weight.
