  • In the early 20th century, we prepared teenagers for factory life by making high school a pre-factory-and that model is still the norm today.
Over a hundred years later, high school learning is still defined by the precise number of minutes students need to learn a particular subject and the number of “credit hours” required to earn a degree. Students are told what classes to take and stuck in rows of desks, using textbooks that don't feel relevant. We must scrap this traditional blueprint and give students meaningful learning experiences to thrive in a complex, competitive world.
