Technical Messenger 04 | 2024 Function, storage, and testing of electronic Visco® fans and clutches

Visco® fans and clutches utilize fluid to transmit power to the fan's drive shaft without any wear.
Depending on the cooling needs, more or less silicone oil is transferred from the storage area to the working area, thus increasing the fan's speed.
For Visco® fans and clutches, correct storage and transport are crucial. The side of the package marked "THIS END UP" must always face upwards.
Once installed, Visco® fans and couplings must always be placed in their installation position and secured against falling over.
If you notice any leaked silicone oil, the clutch must be replaced. Missing oil cannot be refilled.
