Inspirational interview! Qbert is that guy who i love to hear talk because of his depth and knowledge, not just djing, but of life & spirituality. Would love to hear Mix Master Mike.
D Styles ...of course. ;) This one was super nice, thank you, love Q`s approach for a ling time. As it seems he is coming back to the scratch game it would be dope as f+++ if you guys could get Ricci Rucker the Ruckazoid. Would be interisting to hear from him. The route of Klever might be interisting for some heads too. And last one Marco Antonio Rodriguez-Diaz aka DJ Infamous.
I used to pray to my Invisible Skratch Piklz posters when I was a kid hoping that the DJ godz would bless me. They never did, but it was fun getting stoned and watching Turntable TV.
I've never really heard Qbert in this format. Really cool to hear. To this day, the most groundbreaking performances by a group of djs is still underground, and unknown by the masses.
Straight BAY LEGEND!!! THANKS for all the hard work so i can hear real DJ sh*t watching the scratch pickles all on stage at once doing there thing is a sight to see....MAZE408 JBF
all those questions i had back in the 1990s are now being answered! this interview is so thorough and interesting, great work. thank you both for this amazing interview! -peace.
I always had this memory of being a kid living in Berkeley playing with the radio and getting a faint signal of KDAY around 97, crazy he mentioned that. Nice interview, as a bay area turntablist in the 00's everything resonated.
I've seen a lot of good sets in my life, and after the set, I'm usually like "That was a good set. Let's go smoke one"... But Qbert's the only set in my life I was bummed out the set was over: like, genuinely jonesing for more.
Did Alex ever do the event to mark the 25th Anniversary of the ITF battle? I remember him saying he wanted to hold an event, back in 2021. I'm guessing it never happened.
I don’t remember the album it was on but it was one of DJ Qbert’s... he scratched the commentator calling the famous play by play, “The Catch”, Montana to Clark catch. Classic $#!+
Yeah I lived on Peru st in the L8 90s. Living in that hood traformed me from preppy surfer grrl to wearing my baseball cap to the side w/my hoodie. Had to blend in w/the hood. Luv this show.
Yep! Same age as Q Bert! 7th grade kids started bringing radios playing electro! Blew my mind! First track I heard was this: ua-cam.com/video/baYgeNqsYeY/v-deo.html. Took till the invention of the internet for me to rediscover that one!
This was a dope interview for me because Qbert had a big impact on my development in hip-hop! Who are some other DJs you want to see on the podcast?
Inspirational interview! Qbert is that guy who i love to hear talk because of his depth and knowledge, not just djing, but of life & spirituality.
