    Just made these!!! Amazing so delicious. I sifted the almond flour and added 1/8 teaspoon corn extract to the three egg whites. This hit the spot and they even have the texture of corn tortillas. I will never buy low carb tortillas again!! Thank you Tim and Nancy!

    I made chips out of this recipe using an air fryer (6-7 minutes) and they came out very crunchy and more the texture of a Wheat-Thin. Perfect vessel for salsa, cheese or whatever you want. I also omitted the xantum gum (I really dislike the texture it gives) and they hold together perfect! Thank you for bringing back the "crunch"!

    Wow, these chips are AWESOME! Just made these tortillas (they are still warm!). I made all 8 of mine into chips. They are so good and crispy. I added a 1/2 t. of my homemade taco seasoning mix to the dough before the egg whites, and they are delicious! Thank you for this and all your other videos!

    Hey there! I made these on Monday and had wonderful fish tacos. Tuesday, I fried a couple of these and used them for nachos - excellent again (but very filling). Wednesday, I used two of them to make a quesadilla. They were a bit small to seal in all the good stuff but these tortillas really fit the bill! Looking forward to using them for other recipes.

Six months later, each of us had lost 50+ lbs and were back to normal blood sugar levels--my husband got there just by eating lchf without exercizing! We've kept it off for over a year now--and I turned the experience into the cooking show I always wanted to do! 😀

    Is the almond flour ground almonds or pressed with less fat? Which brand do you use? And have you tried the recipe with other flours meanwhile?

    • @TIMTalksCooking
      @TIMTalksCooking  5 років тому +2

      Hi Magi! Almond flour is just finely ground almonds--blanched or not. Personally, I use a couple of different brands--Bob's Red Mill, Anthony's (the best, I think), and Nature's Eats. I haven't tried this with other flours. Some are MUCH more absorbent thsn almond flour (coconut, flaxseed meal, for example), so I can't say with confidence how they would work out. Worth a try!

    • @magimania
      @magimania 5 років тому

      Thank you so much. Unfortunately here in Germany it's called "ground almonds" in supermarkets, but both versions "flours" in online stores. Very confusing and it makes such a difference in the results (like coconut flour). I'm always happy if it's just the ground version in recipes, because it's more accessible.

      Hi Beatriz! My guess is you're cooking them too long--they only take about 10-15 seconds per side--and/or your skillet is too hot. Hope this helps!

    Where do you find carb free baking powder? I can not seem to find it.

      Hi Drew! I don't know of a commercial brand. I make my own by using equal parts baking soda and cream of tartar.

    Can you sub the psyllium husk for flaxseed powder? I read psyllium powder can become a laxative cuz of its fiber content

    • @TIMTalksCooking
      @TIMTalksCooking  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Christopher! You probably could, but both are very high in fiber and both can have a laxative effect. There isn't enough psyllium husk powder in the recipe to affect anyone unless they eat the entire batch.

      Have a go at making your own by blitzing almonds (skin on or blanched/skin off) in a food processor or coffee/spice grinder. The texture will be a little coarser than flour but has worked for me in other bread recipes. Works out less than half the cost of almond flour. Add a little extra flour to whatever recipe your doing.

    • @TIMTalksCooking

      Hi Gabrielle! No, my guess is that you cooked them for too long. 30 seconds tops on a side shoukd do it. Make chips out of your first ones!
