Not sure why it would be anything other than an LS based motor.
@@MajorOutage After all his NASCAR experience I highly doubt its an LS motor. I'd imagine its based off a variant of what the cup teams are running.
@@racerjoe427 If he is, this would be a first. He's been running GM nearly all of his offroad career up to this point. Even the entire time he was driving a Toyota in NASCAR.
MajorOutage you understand GM has made other engines beside the LS motor right? There was this engine called the small block Chevy and guess what it’s not an LS. NASCAR used to run a motor called the SB2 that used 18* cylinder heads loosely based off the small block and that wasn’t an LS either
Why oh why would he use an anachronism like a NASCAR shortblock? Especially after all this time running **LS** motors in his Baja and Dakar trucks?

I cringe for all the folks on the sidelines, fully embrace their fundamental right to risk their lives but dang it looks like trouble. Need to be CLOSE to the action, The Reno Air Races are a prime example for me, they had a predictable nasty accident with race plane hitting audience, after that the rules to separate us spectators from the race planes largely ruined it. (RAR fan from early 1980's, went every other yr. for decades :D )
They actually started putting speed limiters on trucks in certain areas for safety because it used to be balls to the walls everywhere.
