The translation is not exactly that. In Japanese "moeru" has various nuances. One of them is to burn. Other is to get excited, like an adrenaline rush. The phrase "moetaro?" Which is like saying "have you get burned?", is actually a words play and it means "have you enjoyed this?", or "have you enjoyed the excitement? (Of the battle)". Maybe the closest translation in English would be "Have you been put on fire?", but of course with no sexual meaning. Kyo tells that to the player. It is like saying "we had fun together with that cool fight, isn't it?". Shingo mimics him and that is why Kyo feels embarrased. It doesn't have anything to do with Shingo being capable or not to use flames.
SNK's Goof: Appears on the front of the cover, Appears in the intro that had only the main characters, has his own theme in a game that lacked themes, one of the protagonist's best friends, gets included in the Hero team 2 years later, has his own unique super power(critical hits). Capcom's Goof: is a parody of SNK characters, gets beat up by the Protagonist, by his father's murderer, and by his own schoolgirl student, appears nowhere on game's flyer, instead appears a jobber for his father's murderer's artwork
Yeah, Shingo isn't really a joke character. He has goofy aspects about him, but Kyo and co. still take him seriously enough. If anything, Shingo's Capcom analog is *Sakura* since they're both fighting prodigies styling themselves after the series's main character. I don't think SNK actually has a one-to-one equivalent of Dan. Kensou is way closer to Dan yet even he doesn't count because Kensou has actual strength and his crappy luck & "joke" status has more to do with pining over Athena than anything else.
even with comparing him with Sakura, Shingo makes more sense, Shingo learned from Kyo and Kyo's father himself Saisyu, he learned well but despite all he was unable to release flames because he's not a Kusanagi family member, with Sakura it's different, she didn't recieve training from Ryu, Ken nor Gouken, she just mimicks their style and is somehow able to release energy projectiles, and even charge them to make them stronger but with lesser distance. So Yeah the Shingo part makes sense

@Sonicman18 Yep, the manga is canon, along with Shingo's blue flames. Those blue flames makes his hits even more harder than usual, and is really beneficial to Iori and Leona given that the blue flames can purify them if they lose control going into the riot of the blood state.😶
This reminds me of how nice is the fact that from all of the characters that meet Shingo, two of then who has the most faith on Shingo's effort and does not seem him just as a "weird but cool guy" are two of the most powerful and important characters in KOF lore, which is Saisyu and Chizuru.. The last one acting like a second mother for him, and that's nice as hell.
Funny how Benimaru was the main one looking out for Shingo given the 98 novel along with Chizuru. Beni was really ready to shock Ash's system if he was responsible for Kyo and Shingo's injures and in XIII Beni was getting revenge for what Iori did to Shingo given their interaction in XIII.😶

Seeing people post comments from years ago hoping to see him back then editing their posts in happiness that he returned brings joy to my heart man. SNK knew he is a fan favorite that HAD to return.
Why cant i find any of SNK's arranged soundtracks on amazon or ebay? Cause one day,when im like 30 or 40, I want to remember music like this. This isnt just some video game background music like in mario or legend of zelda(no offense nintendo fans), but legitimate music that the Shin Sekai Zatsugidan put their hearts and soul into.I firmly believe that SNK makes some of the finest video game music. without question.
I love this theme...when the guitar kicks in for the chorus, I get goosebumps every time I hear it! Even after over 10 years of playing this game. It's too bad they dropped the ball for KOF 97' by having music only for certain characters, but there were still instantly classic tracks introduced by the game.
Fun Fact: the game had a Crossover with Gintama, putting some Gintama chars in the game. They included Takasugi Shinsuke (also voiced by Takehito) and one of the jokes was in one of boss battles against Takasugi, Shingo sometimes swap with him (making the "same voice actor" joke)

To all SNK fans, This is what we need to do: We need to create a petition on for SNK to release the Neo CD versions of The KOF series on current consoles, Xbox one, PS4, and the Nintendo Switch. SNK just can't let these masterful games with the best some of the best music soundtracks to just sit there not being experienced my as many gamers as possible. Too much work has gone into the music in these games to not let them be experienced by all and every SNK fan, fans of KOF, old fans as well as a new generation of fans.
Believe it or not, Still Green is one of my favourite tracks in gaming, ever, it's just such a powerful amazing track, I think it just may be because I like KOF and Country Music, but this is the best track, in my opinion.

This is what we need to do: We need to create a petition on for SNK to release the Neo CD versions of The KOF series on current consoles, Xbox one, PS4, and the Nintendo Switch.
SNK just can't let these masterful games with the best some of the best music soundtracks to just sit there not being experienced my as many gamers as possible.
Too much work has gone into the music in these games to not let them be experienced by all and every SNK fan, fans of KOF, old fans as well as a new generation of fans.

Believe it or not, Still Green is one of my favourite tracks in gaming, ever, it's just such a powerful amazing track, I think it just may be because I like KOF and Country Music, but this is the best track, in my opinion.
