Born and spent 50 years in Texas. Even for the 10 years I lived in another state I was proud to be a Texan. All the reasons are legit, I hate the heat but it could be worse like winters with temp of -30 degrees and lots and lots of snow.
Texas used to be a much better place to live in than now. People were more tolerant; it wasn't as hot as now; guns were carried only for hunting; traffic was manageable and it didn't have near as many people from California.
I’m a transplanted Yankee who moved to Texas at 33 years old nearly 2 decades ago. Have lived in 7 other states. Have visited most of the others. Texas is the best. For all the reasons those dudes tell you in the hour long conversation, and more.

Surely there's a place where you can experience all four seasons and not be sweaty and miserable 9 months out of the year. I've always preferred colder temperatures also seeing temperatures above 80 degrees in December makes me sad as I'd rather have cold winters with frozen lakes and crisp cool autumns with beautiful fall foliage. I feel like I wasn't destined to live here since I prefer mountains and seasonal forests over hot and muggy places.

I'm a fifth generation Texan, and I moved to California as soon as I could. I was harassed by police in Austin and so many other places that I cannot name them all. One of the worst places is Fort Stockton. After I moved to California and had California plates and drove back to visit my relatives in Texas, I got stopped by the Fort Stockton police because I did not stop at a Yield sign when I was getting back on the freeway. The police made me go to a 7-11 ATM to get cash and pay a fine or go directly to jail. AfterT my parents died, I have only been back to Texas once in six years. If my relatives want to see me, they can visit me in California, where I feel safe.
You should have reported those crooked cops, because they were committing a crime by making you get cash to pay for a fine. They obviously stuck that money in their pockets and scammed you.

As usual you did your research. I’ve lived in DFW all my life and I’ve heard all your reasons from new comers at one point or another, especially how crazy and reckless our drivers are! Good video as you give people an honest fact driven picture of our great state.
I drive arount a thousand miles a week for my job and drivers are pretty good here. I have seen worse, like on the East coast and LA California. For the number of drivers on the road wrecks are not that many and most people are curtious.
John D I’ve only driven in California a couple of times and it was in San Diego and it was fine. I think Urban areas generally have more aggressive/riskier driver no matter the state. Houston drivers to me are super aggressive.
Texas has more cops s and highway patrol then any State I have been to or lived in. I see more cops in a day then I would see in a month any were else. I drive about a thousand miles per week and see about 20 to 30 law enforcement per day out patrolling. When driving in Texas just obey the laws and let the aggressive drivers do there thing and you will be fine. I never let other drivers effect my driving.
As a non-native who lived in Texas for 13 years, I agree 100% with all of these. IMO it is definitely one of those states that either suits your character perfectly, or it makes you feel like a social outcast.
You're right about guns here. I've lived in Texas all of my life and even if you live in a very safe city, you still have a gun somewhere in your house. It's just kind of the attitude here. Everyone here kind of thinks, if anything happens at least I have this gun.
kids learn to shoot in grade school.....old ladies carry.....a woman moved down from the north and bought a home near a friend of mine out in the country......the family target practices daily.....even the grade school kids.....the new neighbor called the law to make them stop.....she wanted to live in a GUN FREE ZONE !.......he advised her to return from whence she came.......
yeah my school bought guns for every teacher, in my opinion it was a waste of money as the likelihood of dying in a school shooting is so low that it has just become something to get people worried about as the news rakes in the money

I'm a Brit-American and I live in Dallas. Been here since 81. Texas big cities are actually quite liberal, but that changes once you get out to the suburbs and rural areas. Dallas is actually sub-tropical and very wooded - not desert. We have hummingbirds, pelicans, 8 species of woodpecker, etc. Other than around a country and western bar on a weekend night, you won't see many cowboys hats in Dallas, although a lot of people wear cowboy boots. You can fly from DFW airport to most parts of the world, NON-STOP - including Sydney, Dubai and Hong Kong. I am very happy in Dallas, but lots of Californians are moving here.
I feel like a lot of ppl from California are moving to Texas in general. I live in the far west side of San Antonio and a lot of the ppl in our church are from California. The whole area that is western 1604 is pretty much suburban California

You forgot the allergies. Texas has some of the worst allergies in the world. It has 3 major allergy seasons of cedar, oak, ragweed, and grasses. It's the only place in the world that I have seen that has a weather forecast and an allergy forecast.
You've never been to Cali? Allergies and air quality is so bad, they include a report in the morning announcements at the elementary schools.
I lived in the Oakland area for seven years and didn’t have any problems. Maybe the fog kept the allergies down. LA I could see being a different story with the fog.

I'm a native Texan in the South Texas area and the seemingly endless heat and humidity has seriously made me consider moving north possibly to Colorado maybe even Minnesota.
Ill take the heat over shoveling snow ever day. Shorts and flip-flops all day in Texas.

What the goddamned hell is so great about your flat, featureless, hot, humid shithole of a state?
Robert Preskop I mean he covered why people move here, watch the video.

You're right about guns here. I've lived in Texas all of my life and even if you live in a very safe city, you still have a gun somewhere in your house. It's just kind of the attitude here. Everyone here kind of thinks, if anything happens at least I have this gun.

I feel like a lot of ppl from California are moving to Texas in general. I live in the far west side of San Antonio and a lot of the ppl in our church are from California. The whole area that is western 1604 is pretty much suburban California
As a native Texan who's lived here his whole life and never owned boots or a cowboy hat I can tell you from personal experience, it is impossible to avoid at least knowing someone who has both of those.
He said western Texas
Right here baby!!!
Hey man, thanks for making this video. We love company! And If y'all do visit Texas (VISIT,not stay), stay the hell out of the fast lane. We got shit to do. 👍
🤣😂
I LOVE TEXAS and I haven't even moved yet!
Sure beats this prison hell hole called bay area California
crazyc99 you will love it!
Just dont screw TX up.
I’m from the Bay Area and moving to Houston. Is Houston a good city?
@Jasmine Maravilla
I'm not so sure.. just moved from LA to Dallas
Don’t California mah texas
Haaaa I’m from McAllen 😂 yes bro your right about that I give you props I used to be overweight till 3yrs ago !!! Love your content Man.
All that good food!
*you're (contraction of "YOU aRE")
"Your" is for possession.
I'm not s native Texan but I like how people dress and show their culture and all that here in Texas
@Blu That's because at least half of them are from different states.
@@michaelairheart6921 true but the rest actually just like urban clothing. I’m in San Antonio, it’s in the top 3 biggest city in the state and the 7th biggest in the country. Mostly everybody wears average clothes (jeans, hoodies or shirts, regular shoes) etc. like maybe you’ll find cowboy or other “non normal” clothing in rural texas but that’s it

Shout out to Silsbee, Texas - home of the most aggressive mosquitos in the northern hemisphere ☺️
you've definitely never visited the philippines, mate
Hiw Graji Du Suw - the Silsbee mosquitos are imported from the Philippines and then fed a diet of Red Bull and bath salts.
All of the Gulf Coast the mosquitos use steroids and bench press 350 lol
lol
NICE. I USE DILUTED VINEGAR SPRAY ON MYSELF BUT I HEARD THER OTHER THINGS THAT PPL USE
The corporation’s pay dirt cheap wages, unless their new transplants, you know like Cowboys.
Compare with drivers from NYC, Texans are model drivers
@Traveler86 Love yup Miami drivers are suicidal. Speeding bobbing a weaving switching three lanes behind vehicles in front of vehicles. Seen two cars doing a figure 8 right next to eachother from two opposite sides right to left and left to right simultaneously. Shortly after there was an accident. They hopped out one vehicle acting like they were surprised.
@@timetheory84 bc most of those ppl come from other states🤦🏿♂️
TheMartiano I am a truck driver and worked hauling loads into NYC and upper state NY. Guess why I will never go back, all the rude drivers and rude people.

You can definitely lose weight here if you set your mind to it. I moved here last year, decided to go on the keto diet, and lost 60+ lbs. The amazing brisket and ribs were definitely helpful in that process!
My ex husband talked me into moving from Los Angeles to Texas. He knew I loved exciting bad weather and described the storms here. It did the trick and am still in Corpus. Learned some Spanish, and eat the best Mexican food ever. Eventually, he left and moved to Boston and I said adios.
Why tf would you live in LA the first place that’s the worst place in California
He forgot to mention the murder rate there. It’s 2nd in the nation, if not in the top 10!
1. Mosquitos, especially if you are from California and not used to mosquito bites
2. Humidity
Coyotes stay out of the cities and towns in Texas. Unlike California where they kill peoples pets in their yards. I'll take skeeters. And humidity? Or earthquakes? Hmmmmmm, lemme think about that, NOT!
Texas is not terribly attractive. It has the Austin and San Antonio regions that have diverse cultures, but most of Texas is just sprawling desert loaded with oil wells and cattle ranches. There are a lot of depressing small towns where the big action is high school sports, especially football.
I can get that anywhere else.
Lived in Dallas for 6 years. 1. No opportunity for non Hispanic people because Hispanics are doing all the hiring and they only hire their own. However, most of them were very nice people. 2. It's very cold in the winter. 3. Wind never stops blowing. Awful. 4. Ridiculously high taxes. 5. Ridiculously high electric bill. 6. Traffic 7. Dumb alcohol laws. 8. Lots of nosy people. 9. Hot in the summer. 10. Copperheads and rattlesnakes everywhere. Moved to Florida. It's a little better but not much.
@zadose Never had the urge to live in California. I broke down in death valley in July. Worst heat I've ever experienced.
bruce watson I think you would enjoy San Antonio its more spread out and traffic isn't bad for it being the 7th largest city in the US
@@jamor2549 I've done a lot of work in San Antonio. Didn't care for it much.
It only really hot May- september...the rest of the year has great weather. I'll take that any day over a bad winter and snow shoveling.
@@petethepiraterevelations7706 Yeah, had enough of that snow shoveling nonsense. That's why I live in Florida. It's hot for a couple of months but the rest of the year it's in the 70s.
My greatest complaint while I lived in Southeast Texas had been that my allergies never caught a break. I deal with seasonal allergies. So if anyone deals with issues with mold or pollen, Southeast Texas, in particular, isn't a stellar choice. Its spring or summer most of the year.
Right!! I knew i wasn't tripping when i caught my allergies again when I recently moved to Texas it came back coming from California weather
Gun friendly that reason enough let me to live in Tex 🇺🇸 💪🏻
LeeKun Hy Bring your guns, never know when we’ll need them.
Jack Culp dont take your guns to town
hhaha when will you find out that all that money you're wasting on guns is going to greedy billionaires that are controlling the whole country
Come to Idaho.
You obviously haven't lived in Texas and New Jersey. I used to think better little of New Jersey while growing up there, then I moved to Texas and learned to appreciate the culture, amazing geographical location, beautiful flora, more beautiful cities and suburbs, and overall better quality of life. The only thing better about Texas than New Jersey is no state income tax, and slightly lower cost of life, and that's about it. Needless to say that Texas is not for me.
