I was at row 6 when you finished, does the dc continue to 8,9,10 as the skirt grows, can any one reading this, help me, do we continue with 6 dc until the end?
im trying to figure this out too.. it looks like its suppose to be 6 dc till the end but mine keeps increasing :/

From what I understand- u r supposed to maintain the 5dc ch2 5dc. Hope u got that point. So from the row she says follow the pattern it will only be 4dc in each st + 1dc ch2 1dc + 4dc in each st followed by the rest of the pattern. So how many every rows u go it would be the same count, only then the skirt would look straight, else the skirt would be too broad like an umbrella cut skirt model. I think that's the difference. U can go both ways I think. One would end up like a straight cut and the other an umbrella

I have seen other questions, but not an answer yet- 27rows stated before button hole, assuming that’s ridges so really 54 rows + 2 for the hole = 56 rows. But end of round one the video stats 73 dc, how if 1 stitch per row? Does that include the ch2 or are there ‘74 stitches’ ? - finally, if I would like to increase the width, should it be a specific multiple of a number? Thank you! This is sooooo cute I would love to make for my 6yo

Hi , thank you for your tutorial. I have a couple of questions: 1) at first you said waist 23 cm. but once you finished the waist you say: "27 rows = 15 inches/38 cm. Then my question is: if 38cm is all the waist (back and front) half of if it should be 19 cm, so how come you mentioned 23 cm? Sorry but I am confused. thanks
Cause it really expand. I made 24" for my daughter and ended up getting 28" so now I will make my daughter's again and will have to make 18" only so if it expanded then it will just be the right fit for her. Plus my ribbing is stretchy too so I won't make any button holes and just put them together

@Rosalind Donnelly I found the written pattern on a website. It says for rows 7-14 (or however many you're doing) to repeat row 6. Hopefully that helps. I'm trying to figure out how to make it for a 6 year old. Since the waist line is bigger more stitches.

The waist size for a 3 year old is only 1 inch larger than 9 months old, if you slightly adjust the button it is suitable for multiple sizes, the length can be as long as you want by adding more rows.

I didn't make a pattern for an adult.. you can try making the border larger to fit your taille, and add more rows to the skirt

I did this one and I will answer the questions of some. The ribbing grew as well . I did 24" in the end the skirt grew 4" more on the waist making it the explanation why it grew when she measured it on the finished product while she just did 15" on the ribbings. Mine cannot fit my daughter's now so it ended up to be my skirt already.

Did I hear it right...? For the border you made 27 rows + 2 rows for the button, that makes a total of 29 rows. And you made 73(?!) DC in every stitch in row 1?? Please respond? I just finished the border, making this skirt for her first birthday.
I'm also confused. I think (after attempting counting rows on the video) 27 rows are actually 54 (=27 * 2) rows. Add the 2 rows for the button and you end up with 56 rows. How you then get to 73 double crochets in row 1 is lost on me... @frisianknitting, could you maybe explain what we are missing here?

Confused 27 rows +2 button Row. In the button row 7 single stiches then skip two that is 9 stiches and then single crochet in last chain. that is 10 stiches. what is the calculation for 73 stiches? Thank you. Skirt looks beautiful
