Excavator crashes with Bridge in Switzerland [caught on DASHCAM]

An excavator was towed by a truck this morning (Monday) on Swiss busiest highway A1 near Birrfeld when its arm suddenly crashes with an overpass causing mayor damage to the bridge. As a result of the impact, concrete pieces fell down and covered the three lanes of A1 (direction Berne), hitting also various cars driving behind the truck. The police immediately closed down the highway for cleaning. A check-up on the bridge's structure revealed bigger damage as expected so that the highway had to be closed in both directions. During the day, the bridge got underpinned with a special framework structure. The highway was reopened later on Monday evening. The bridge itself remains closed.
According to the Cantonal Police of Aargau, the bridge had a clearance of 4.50 metres (in Switzerland max height of trucks allowed is 4 metres). It is assumed that the driver had not adjusted the arm of the excavator correctly.
