I climbed and taught for a long time, and i will definitely say my brain while playing this forces my muscles to do certain things that it knows off memory and i think ti makes it a bit more of a workout then it needs to be, not a complaint, but for sure neat to see my muscle memory do crazy things while playing this game :)

@@OculusQuestFun I played The Climb on the Rift when it came out - and my shoulders the next day were incredibly sore. Even though you know it's real - you still end up tensing up. The downside is the game made me pretty motion sick so I rarely played it again - so I don't know if that tension goes away after a bit, but now that it's on the Quest I'll give it another go.

Watching this makes me realise how much I play this game like a game! I’m always trying to min max my stamina by rushing to claw at holds, holding two hands as frequently as possible, trying to optimise shortest path etc. These climbers seem so much more cautious in finding their grip, take their time, hang on one hand while appreciating the environments (and maybe even appreciate the whole experience and surroundings a little more). They also seem to be choosing their left and right hand holds WAY more efficiently than I do, though that’s to be expected. I’m only thinking about my next hold, they seem to be thinking two or three holds ahead! Fascinating to watch

I LOVE these vr public reactions! My recommendation for the next one is maybe something more relaxed, like steam vr lab. People's first experience of VR will shape how they think of it, and something more relaxing/light hearted can have a far more positive outcome for the average person. Maybe get random people on the street to do the one where you have a dog play fetch, then see what their thoughts of vr are compared to before

snuskbulle or those gloves that show hand movement since tracking is a bit harder cus you’d have to capture almost every angle of the hand.

It was certainly a gamble letting first-timers play "The Climb". This was one of the first games I tried, and I remember feeling so sick from it... but it was my first hour in VR so I rushed it, but I will not get the game for myself because of that experience. I got VR myself now and been playing a lot of other games, so don't get discouraged if your first experience were the same, there is hope for all of us and your head just needs to get used to it (but it's not infinite ofc).

I think this video sums up VR in general. Most people haven't tried it and consider it a fad that won't be that good. Once they get that headset on, they realise just how immersive it is. I bought my Oculus Rift S a couple of days ago after my friend gave me a go on his. I was completely sceptical about the experience and just assumed it would be a bit of fun at best. He got me on a roller coaster and then on the Face Your Fears robot game. I was absolutely shitting myself about falling.
VR truly is the future of gaming but it won't be unless more people get into it. I really don't understand why there aren't VR stands in every gaming shop for people to try.

VR is AMAZING I love it and I truly believe one day it will be just like the Book and Movie Ready Payer One. The Ground has been laid. I mean we already have a ton of the Same capabilities, They are just Crazy Expensive at the moment but, Time will fix that and by then the Things that VR will be capable of will be MIND-BLOWING. I can truly see People going to school and College Through VR Like in the Ready Player One Book where you get a Standard set of Vr stuff from the school for what you will need to attend school and then you can add to it if you have the money. Already there are people who even do their own type of counseling and Yoga Classes On VR Chat. Imagine in the Not too Far Future when the VR Tech is Nuts and accessible, It will be Something Words can not express and it will happen much Faster if more people show enthusiasm about VR and what it can be. I mean people do and are Amazed by it when they ever try a good VR setup. But most people have not even really tried it or realize what it can be and will become.

Maybe in the near future they will be able to sync up a VR/AR headset with real-life climbing walls, so you're physically climbing, but you see all these amazing environments around you. They would need to have sturdy headsets, but if they could pull it off that would be insane! It would be awesome for parties.

Vr is an odd experience because it kinda makes you feel like your not in your room, but it doesn’t make you feel like your in the game.
Which is probably impossible to get full immersion due to the fact that you don’t FEEL what your touching, or FEEL the tempatature of your surroundings. Although there is a place called The Void which you practically walk through a maze while wearing the vr headset, and apparently they use fans and heaters while you walk to feel even more immersed into the world

What a fun idea for a video :) This game is a lot of fun but when I first played it I COULD NOT lol. I think it is legit helping me with my fear of heights, though, I feel a little wobble in my legs when I look down from a platform, but now I can look around and enjoy the view instead of thinking "oh shit, that's a long drop!" It does feel super real, though, even without ultra realistic graphics VR really makes height feel real, like in Richie's Plank Experience, quite cartoony graphics but WOAH! I also find it funny that at the end it looks like you're still wearing the VR helmet in the wide shot xD
