@Girl On A Quest There isn't. You are right! It's just that people click on those kind of thumbnails. I clicked on the video because I thought "Oh, another video were Mike let's other people try VR". People are too thirsty, really.
Girl On A Quest I certainly mean no offense. If my comment offends anyone, I’ll gladly remove it. I’m simply remarking on human predictably based on visual stimuli.
@@OculusQuestFun he would have to freelance as if he worked for oculus he probably wouldn't be able to review other headsets, plus his integrity could come into question if he would be bias.
Well, not so much. The wife an I both did the 'cardboard vr' thing when a nephew stuck his android in one at a christmas party a few years back. And now.. I got the wife a quest for Christmas. I get that cardboard's NOT REAL VR!!!! but it was a kindof a 'that's sorta cool' introduction to it which prompted us to delve a bit more.. :)
I climbed and taught for a long time, and i will definitely say my brain while playing this forces my muscles to do certain things that it knows off memory and i think ti makes it a bit more of a workout then it needs to be, not a complaint, but for sure neat to see my muscle memory do crazy things while playing this game :)
@@OculusQuestFun I played The Climb on the Rift when it came out - and my shoulders the next day were incredibly sore. Even though you know it's real - you still end up tensing up. The downside is the game made me pretty motion sick so I rarely played it again - so I don't know if that tension goes away after a bit, but now that it's on the Quest I'll give it another go.
Now if they could map out those real climbing walls, in that gym, into a matching VR version, you could climb for real (tethered, of course) but have it look like you were in a cool mountain environment like the game.
I got the Oculus for Christmas and am loving it! As a paraplegic, it has opened up a whole new world for me. I have always wanted to try rock climbing, but without use of my legs it seemed impossible until now! Definitely gonna try this game out!
This was great. Fun idea, I’d like to see this for other games. (Archery enthusiasts trying archery games, a shooting enthusiast trying gun range, etc.) How close are the mechanics to a real experience is a fun concept.
Watching this makes me realise how much I play this game like a game! I’m always trying to min max my stamina by rushing to claw at holds, holding two hands as frequently as possible, trying to optimise shortest path etc. These climbers seem so much more cautious in finding their grip, take their time, hang on one hand while appreciating the environments (and maybe even appreciate the whole experience and surroundings a little more). They also seem to be choosing their left and right hand holds WAY more efficiently than I do, though that’s to be expected. I’m only thinking about my next hold, they seem to be thinking two or three holds ahead! Fascinating to watch
Great video! I'd like to see more people trying the virtual version of their hobby. Like shooters trying Gun Club, graffiti artists trying Kingspray or zombie hunters trying Arizona Sunshine.
I LOVE these vr public reactions! My recommendation for the next one is maybe something more relaxed, like steam vr lab. People's first experience of VR will shape how they think of it, and something more relaxing/light hearted can have a far more positive outcome for the average person. Maybe get random people on the street to do the one where you have a dog play fetch, then see what their thoughts of vr are compared to before
Great video, that big grin they all got when putting the headset on was exactly how i felt when i first put the quest on and started going through the introduction.

I agree with the poster below, maybe a racetrack/go cart track to let people try a racing game, and of course someplace with a spooky theme to show people a horror-themed game. Also perhaps a theme park to show a rollercoaster sim.
Aww, was hoping this was integrated with the climbing walls (because the thumbnail's a fucking lie), i.e., scanned the environment and recognized the holds, and just painted you into an environment. Shame it's arms only. Future potential!
I’d imagine that’d be very hard to sell because.. not everyone has a rock wall. Along with the obvious lawsuit risks because you have a headset on and are high up.
Day one of trying to get mike to realise how great of a youtuber he is. Mike I think you should easily have 1 million subscribers. Even though I have only subscribed recently because I wanted to know more about the quest and vr in general. I WILL SUPPORT YOU TILL THE END MY FRIEND!
By looking at the thumbnail I was expecting completely different thing. I thought they tried to make gym climbing feel dangerous by making the real track match a virtual mountain. lol But then I thought if they did it, this would be really dangerous because if you fall you need to see the floor to prepare for the landing otherwise you might get injured.
One of my favorite things to do besides play my VR is to get new people to try it to see their reactions. It’s always a good time, and it does seem like the discomfort that was associated with early versions has come a long way so that a greater majority of users can have fun with it right away.
They should a thing where that rockwall looks like a mountain with little stones jutting out in a vr app, and let the rock climbers try it out so that they're actually climbing something and using vr at the same time
Mate, great video. This is why I have been whining about The Climb for so long. I climb in my free time (what I have of it). I completely understand when Gabriel spoke of a shoulder burn. As I have been playing it's like my mind is firing the muscles I would use on an actual climb. I must visit that centre with my GF (we both climb). As always, thanks for the video!
This was great. I've never done VR. Just ordered my Quest 2 so I've been binge watching videos, and I thoroughly enjoyed this. You make great content. Keep it up.
It was certainly a gamble letting first-timers play "The Climb". This was one of the first games I tried, and I remember feeling so sick from it... but it was my first hour in VR so I rushed it, but I will not get the game for myself because of that experience. I got VR myself now and been playing a lot of other games, so don't get discouraged if your first experience were the same, there is hope for all of us and your head just needs to get used to it (but it's not infinite ofc).
I think this video sums up VR in general. Most people haven't tried it and consider it a fad that won't be that good. Once they get that headset on, they realise just how immersive it is. I bought my Oculus Rift S a couple of days ago after my friend gave me a go on his. I was completely sceptical about the experience and just assumed it would be a bit of fun at best. He got me on a roller coaster and then on the Face Your Fears robot game. I was absolutely shitting myself about falling. VR truly is the future of gaming but it won't be unless more people get into it. I really don't understand why there aren't VR stands in every gaming shop for people to try.
Great vid. What this really shows is how well the public react to this gen vr especially the standalone Quest and if Facebook went out and demo this in shopping malls, schools, events etc. then take up would be phenomenal.

Vr is an odd experience because it kinda makes you feel like your not in your room, but it doesn’t make you feel like your in the game. All the climbing without the risk of death! I love it!!
love how the headset has chalk on it at the end, 2 worlds collide.
My favorite part of this video was the random guy climbing around in the background.
