During the 1970s, I worked as a cemetery groundskeeper; and on occasion; a grave digger. One of the cemeteries which I mowed was in a remote portion of my small rural town. The headstones were very old. I never considered my job to be creepy. It was an honor to care for the final resting place of my former townspeople. Sometimes, it was also very melancholy.
Ahh, while I love the more brighter and decorative side of Halloween, I will say that the dark and foreboding abandoned(?) house will always be a sure staple for the season.
I love the fact that this has got a truly unsettling atmosphere. Most "scary" ambience videos are a little creepy at best, but this is actually chilling. Well done.
You have a plethora of cute Halloween ambience, which I appreciate, but THIS! Honestly, you need more of the creepy side of the season. This is the kind of sound atmosphere that runs an icy cold finger down your spine and whispers dark secrets in your ear when you're sure you're alone..and that's what cute ambience can't do. You need more of this.
This is very majestic the sounds, music and wow. The artwork in the whole video is absolutely beautiful, bone chilling, scary, and haunting! You have an incredible gift to create extraordinary things like this!! 🙂
Just started reading "Carrie" with this, and it's enhancing the experience SO MUCH. Perfect compilation, I love reading during thunderstorms and between that and the music, it creates the greatest atmosphere.
Thank you for this wonderful homage to what is, in my opinion, the greatest decade for horror. This works so well as a backdrop for reading a novel from that era, such as Burnt Offerings or The Sentinel.
Also, we kind of think of the 80's as being the golden age of horror franchises, but things like Halloween, Alien, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, etc, all started in the 70's.
Right now I’m reading a thriller novel set in a rural town and this ambience music does enhance the loneliness and isolation the text wants to transmit as well as the tension in the scary parts, this is awesome!
walking through the woods at night, or coming home after work around dusk... never spooked me. not to say it wasn't unsettling, as there's sections of my area with homes that've stood vacant/abandoned since the 90's, and I grew up being warned to avoid certain areas after sundown... but being in/near those places after dark didn't spook me, until I saw someone get stabbed under a streetlamp one night, and the person who did it just stepped back into the dark, just out of range of the light. I felt fear then. never has the phrase "it's not so much the dark that scares me, but what might be in it with me." seemed so spot on. over the years, I've seen all manner of horrible things happen to those who disregarded the dangers that come with moving about after sundown. none so horrible as seeing that man get stabbed, or seeing a little girl be abducted, and being unable to help her. both events happened in my early/mid teens, and I'm into my 20's now... but even so, they still haunt me. she screamed for help, for her mother. twice. I heard a loud noise, and she fell silent. I turned and ran. I didn't dare look back. I wouldn't get a phone until years later.. but after that? it never left my side if I had to go out after sun down..
This is very chilling! I am writing a haunting mystery for my english class and this fits perfectly. It's actually very creepy as I am sitting in my dorm alone at night
I like how Distorted Minds starts out, that, 'almost' rattling/tapping- beat curdles my blood. Ever since I was a kid in the 90s, I've heard that used for the trope in movies: "It's lurking out there, hunting us." Let me tell you, that there is nothing more unnerving than having a nightmare as a kid where you're being stalked by a unknowable thing because you saw Aliens or Jurassic Park right before you went to bed. This music track is straight out of nightmares.
Using this to keep me focused on my latest Riley Sager book. Almost finished with the book and this is definitely enhancing the ending for me. Thank you!
Reading some HP Lovecraft right now while listening to this. "The Lurking Fear", specifically. This music would also go well with some MR James or Algernon Blackwood.
That ole house sitting there decaying and falling apart it has been there since the 1920's and the town near here has grown from a small vacation community to a huge resort town with the lake to the north and the mountains to the east but to the south and west of town where this house and property is located has remained the same all of these years while there have been no murders or wild goings on or any scary history that we know of the ole house was where a strange family once lived they only came into town for groceries and other supplies once a month but kept to themselves a family consisting of a father, mother, two sons,a daughter and another person unsure of his relationship, they were friendly when you greeted them but they would go back home without saying anything just smiling and shaking their heads, they would walk 11 miles into town and the same back home from sun up to early afternoon and no one went near the areas out in the woods which they lived and like I said nothing bad ever happened but the townspeople we're leary of them don't even know what they're names were they lived there from the 20's up until the 60's the father died in 1972,the mother in 1976, they were buried out back behind the house in a small cemetery of family members, the children the oldest son last heard he was living in California, the Youngest son now lives in Texas and the daughter lives in Massachusetts, the unknown person that lived with them not sure what ever happened to him, some county workers went out to check on the area and there was a white marble cross in the front yard and the house was completely empty no furniture at all, the family cemetery out back several graves with crude markers but no names on them and the townspeople weren't as scared or confused at any of this because the nameless family never bothered them even though they were weird to them, nobody came out here anymore or in this vicinity not that it was scary or anything like that to me it always seemed weird while I was growing up here but to everyone else nothing seemed out of the ordinary, I guess it was just my imagination wanting it to have a scary history to it, but the white marble cross what was that for and what does that signify, does it mean good luck for the property and the decaying house or is it to keep bad spirits inside house or is it just my vivid imagination running away with me again, I'm in my 50's now and I live in a town in a neighboring county to the east as you are going towards the mountains, still haven't heard anything from there, well sorry to ramble again but this is real life so you can't expect ghosts, monsters and the ilk to really exist except only in books, movies and such but with a good imagination you can be a writer of stories like this, well good night and God Bless.????.
*Police Report from July 16th, 1970* "On July 16th, 1970 the station had a sudden emergency call. Two teenagers, a couple, reported that three of their friends had gone missing after entering the property on 2308 Walker Dr. When asked what happened, they explained they wanted to explore the property that night. Upon arrival, the young lady, Judith Riley, felt frightened and chose not to enter. Her boyfriend, Dean Peters, stayed with her so she wouldn't be alone. After an hour of waiting outside, the couple was about to gather and collect their friends to leave, but was unable to locate any of them. Upon exploration outside the property, they allegedly saw what they described as an "aparitition" in the window. The couple then left out of fear in their car and came to the PD to report what happened. A detective and two officers were dispatched to 2308 to find clues to the missing teenagers. Nothing indicates any violent occurances happened prior to the couple arriving to the PD. Nonetheless, a Missing Persons case is underway with the community being informed of the disappearances of Caleb Stein, Will Carter, and Alice Lohr.
Worked at mt.adnah cemetery in Fulton,ny...it's on the register of national historic places......very creepy place....old place with 300year old oak trees, a "baby area ",and graves as far back as the French and Indian war......🌒🌒🌒🌒
It is possible to use this for a background on videos about horror stories, giving credits of course? It is a problem if the videos are monetized?. Thanks

Blakers, especially Stephen King's Salem's Lot.
That creepy piano is like something out of either Rosemary's Ba🤰🏻y(1968) or one of those 70s religious thrillers, like Alice Sweet Alice(1976).
It’s definitely creepy!
So much great spookyness here 👻 love it
Very cool. Love the background. Very Halloween. Wished I could go camping out there. LOL
I like the old wooden fence. Very decent.

I'm reading ' The Woman in Black' and that's is perfect with this playlist.

That ole house sitting there decaying and falling apart
it has been there since the 1920's and the town near here
has grown from a small vacation community to a huge resort
town with the lake to the north and the mountains to the east
but to the south and west of town where this house and property
is located has remained the same all of these years while there
have been no murders or wild goings on or any scary history
that we know of the ole house was where a strange family
once lived they only came into town for groceries and other supplies
once a month but kept to themselves a family consisting of a father,
mother, two sons,a daughter and another person unsure of his relationship,
they were friendly when you greeted them but they would go back home
without saying anything just smiling and shaking their heads,
they would walk 11 miles into town and the same back home from sun
up to early afternoon and no one went near the areas out in the woods
which they lived and like I said nothing bad ever happened but the townspeople
we're leary of them don't even know what they're names were they lived there
from the 20's up until the 60's the father died in 1972,the mother in 1976,
they were buried out back behind the house in a small cemetery of family members,
the children the oldest son last heard he was living in California, the Youngest son
now lives in Texas and the daughter lives in Massachusetts, the unknown person that
lived with them not sure what ever happened to him, some county workers went out to
check on the area and there was a white marble cross in the front yard and the house was
completely empty no furniture at all, the family cemetery out back several graves with crude
markers but no names on them and the townspeople weren't as scared or confused at any of this
because the nameless family never bothered them even though they were weird to them,
nobody came out here anymore or in this vicinity not that it was scary or anything like that
to me it always seemed weird while I was growing up here but to everyone else nothing seemed
out of the ordinary, I guess it was just my imagination wanting it to have a scary history to it,
but the white marble cross what was that for and what does that signify, does it mean good luck
for the property and the decaying house or is it to keep bad spirits inside house or is it just my
vivid imagination running away with me again, I'm in my 50's now and I live in a town in a neighboring
county to the east as you are going towards the mountains, still haven't heard anything from there,
well sorry to ramble again but this is real life so you can't expect ghosts, monsters and the ilk
to really exist except only in books, movies and such but with a good imagination you can be a writer
of stories like this, well good night and God Bless.????.
