Shane McMahon could be the Tony Khan “Nuclear Option” to put an end to this 5 year Elite EVP storyline. Hangman Page returns, wins the World title, the Elite have all the major title belts and are crowing about their power within AEW. They’ve put Christopher Daniels on the shelf, then Tony Khan makes an announcement on TV that he’s been left with no other choice and had to have a one-on-one meeting for a total corporate restructure. The Elite no longer have EVP roles and the new AEW CEO is Shane McMahon.
Time to dust off that rumor from 1999 about someone leaving WWE to sabotage the "competition."
WWE don't need anybody to help sabotage AEW, Tony is doing a pretty good job all on his own.

Most likely that's true, but there is actually a chance that he could buy AEW. If AEW loses enough money and Shahid Khan gets fed up with the whole thing, it could end up ultimately being sold to Shane. AEW could provide Shane the chance to prove himself, as Vince didn't see him as the guy to take over WWE.

In the unlikely scenario that Shane goes to AEW, I don't think their core audience, regardless of its size, would like that. TK and AEW fans have been preaching the demise of Vince and everything related to WWE for 5 years now, and now suddlendly he is opening the gates of the "promissed land of wrestling" to a McMahon, also Shane is a bussiness man, I doubt his involvement will be only for a dolar and a hot dog like most indie guys there

To buy what exactly? Why would Shane be interested in AEW? It's a failing promotion that is hemorrhaging cash. And on top of that, they're about to lose their TV deals. It would be cheaper to just start a new promotion, use his (and Vince's) contacts in the media to get a TV deal and then cherry pick the AEW talent after it folds (although I don't see any value in most of those trampoline gymnastics wrestlers).

Yeah, but it was a work. In the storyline, Shane owned some of WCW. In reality, it was the invasion angle they did.
Tony Khan is the perfect example of the 'This is Fine' meme. He says everything is great while everything around him is burning down.
Things have changed and how much animosity is there with the WWE. Several of the top guys who went to AEW have been talking to him, they want him as a personality and an exec a la Bischoff. This is a more real possibility than is being let on.
