I have been looking for this clip for an age.I'm overjoyed to find it at last. For those who never saw this great little band, what can I say! This is the 'band within a band' from 'The Bechet Legacy'.Quite possibly the finest Swing Group since the great days.Only Bob can do this music the justice it deserves.Brilliant Glenn Zottola,Trumpet,Chris Flory, Guitar, and the best Swing Bass player in the business,Phil Flanigan.Beyond outstanding!!!!!
Sublime !! Bob Wilbur est formidable. Il arrive à ré-inventer le phrasé de Bechet et rester dans l'esprit du maître. Quelle virtuosité et quel swing !!
Yes the great Bob Wilber, he played a night with my band here in Hong Kong, great night, I first saw him with the World's Greatest Jazzband around 1976 in Newcastle, England, with most of the greats who are now gone, Bud Freeman, Billy Butterfield etc, great swinging clip..many thanks.
Have seen Bob Wilber many times in Florida. Would like to see fellow trumpeter Glenn Zottola who is a very underrated musician who is excellent in this clip from the Smithsonian video.

WOW!!
soprano curved or straight for traditional jazz?
yes Barney...I shut mi eyes and listen Sidney Bechet...(sorry my inglish)
Bob sounds great, swinging and melodic, as long as he sticks close to Bechet. Off on his own groove with Marsalis he sounds a bit lost.
