I'm normally excited for new videos... but the dude literally says nothing the entire video other then "the s7 is close to a race car" and and how he loves the s7 then repeats those 2 statements over and over without ever actually saying anything about the car itself.
This guy has mastered the art of talking slow to sound knowledgeable. He treats every fact and opinion like an abstract concept or a Doctoral lecture, but we're just talking about cars on an extremely base level (no engineering or physics lessons on his sections).
So glad you said this. It was boring even at 1.5x speed. Guy likes to hear his own voice, nothing but platitudes. Worst vinwiki yet. I dar saw the only one that was pure annoyance.
12 minutes to say that its rare, the chassis is more similar to the racecar than we think (no further explanation) and most saleens are different, because they didnt sell many. Did I mention its a rare car?
I’m glad I’m not the only one thinking the same thing. Story line was boring but it’s a race car road car did you know that. Why bring up these key points then not talk about it.
Hey Ed and co, here's a learning opportunity: If your segment doesn't deliver intriguing bits of actual information (that ideally would be news to many of this channel's audience), or a really compelling storyline, or - better yet! - both of those things... You're probably better off just not running it. This piece isn't up to Vinwiki's usual standards.
Damn...was actually really interested in this one and the one time he sounded like he was about to elaborate on something really cool (the gray areas)...he didn't.
With a title like, "The Saleen S7 is even more INSANE than you think!" and a thumbnail that says "THIS SHOULDN'T BE LEGAL!" I really expected to learn more about the S7 than just, "its frame is nearly identical to the race car version!" That's cool and all, and I didn't know that before, but why does that mean the S7 "SHOULDN'T BE LEGAL?" Ya really gotta follow through on your hook.
Just checked the comments to see if someone noticed the same. Just 11 minutes of someone confessing there love for an S7, but says nothing besides the production numbers, and that it was in Bruce Almighty. Thanks! I guess.
I almost feel bad for Ed or whoever edited this video. They probably went through 2 hours of this guy talking about nothing, and this was the best video that they could piece together. He seems like the type of guy who checks in every 2 days to find out when the video is coming out.
8 minutes in and I’m giving up and going to the comments. Ultimate click bait presentation that told me nothing. Listening to this guy tested my patience by the second.
How do you talk for 10+ minutes about a car, and literally say nothing? "Every car is different!" (Not one example given). "They REALLY broke some rules to build it!" (But, I'm not gonna say what). This is like having Doug DeMuro say "THIS! Is a Saleen S7. And now, I'm going to give it a Doug Score"
I had to double check that I didnt accidentally loop the video and wasnt listenening to the same 2 min over and over "its rare. Its like a racecar" repeat.
Did he ever get to the point of the video? At least the Super Speeders guy would tell you how horrible it was to rent and how narrow the pedal box was.
so about 6 minutes in I cant help but notice dude closes his eyes for a solid 10 seconds while speaking. It was at that point I decided to check on my potentially invested remaining 6 minutes of wasted time at which point I was vindicated and chose to spend 4 minutes opening my laptop to leave this comment. 12 minutes of hot air
I showed a non car guy friend of mine my Road & Track magazine that had an article on the S7. He was absolutely blown away. He said "that thing looks petty cool for a Mustang"
Isn't there the chance that you can take it back to the factory, and have them re-fit the seat for you? I know it isn't an adjustable seat, but I think they can take it out and put it a bit further back in
I remember hearing the designers talking about one of the final tests was to go to McDonald's and see if a super-sized drink would fit through the window in the drive-thru.
I'm a huge Saleen S7 fan, I have a signed poster of one... and this video is horrible. NOTHING of value was said. It's like he's drunk and trying to convince a friend the Saleen S7 is cool. "No, dude, like you don't get it, it's like a racecar, but you can drive it on the road, dude, I swear, it's insane bro!"
I remember driving passed a Saleen facility every day on my way to work, when I lived in Michigan. They were right around the corner from our office. I used to see an S7 in the front lobby area, and they’d be painting FordGT bodies and letting them cure in one of the rooms with windows near the front of the building. I’d always wanted to go in and see the S7 up close, and now I wish I would have.
The Saleen S7 was one of my favorite Cars in Grand Tourismo 4&5 .. great memories. Such great chassis balance & handling abilities. I heard that they made a tube race chassis built of metal and kept the weight down with the use of carbon fiber body panels. The way this thing accellerated out of a corner from 2nd to 4th gear was incredible.
Came to hear about a Saleen S7. This guy just set the record on word count without telling us anything other than how much he loves the car and it’s juicy.
Omg been waiting for this! The s7 is still my favorite supercar *EDIT* lol I was excited to see Bruce almighty because he drove the s7, not the other way around 😂
I own a Saleen S351 (#251) I really loved driving it. And it draws you to it. One of my favorites. I also own a SLP Camaro, i raced both in SCCA. It was great, I drove John elways S7 once and it was nice.
What part are you describing exactly? I'm genuinely curious because that's not exactly the popular opinion here. Check the top 50 or so comments if you need clarification.
The S7R also had some stuff that was in the "gray area" where the FIA was concerned. Same as the Federal Govt, they just never found it. Most of us that worked on the ALMS/LMES cars knew it too.
Well, it raced GT1, and is very much like a GT1 roadcar like the Mercedes Benz CLK GTR, or a 911 GT1, and if you know anything about these cars they're uncompromising, and very Raw! The Saleen S7 is basically a GT1 Homologation car.
I've sat inside a Mustang Saleen S7 in Australia. It was supercharged version though and it was built by Saleen, it had engraved signature on the rocker covers and it had signed dashboard. I leaned about the Shelby SSC and I always had this imagination of what kind of Food could have been made if Shelby and Saleen joined forces? The S7 Saleem and Shelby SSC are the pinnacle late 90s early 2000 supercar vibe in my opinion. And the upper limits to wild yet somehow still factory delivered is nothing like Euro supercars. Where Ferrari would sue you for modifying their Ferrari you would have a rich American turn to to the workshop with his Ford saying it's not wild enough take my money and make me the wildest version; And the response would be Ok. How could you not love that ethos?
Did he know he was going to be recorded? I thought the comments were harsh as I started the vid… the comments are spot on. He only alludes to “very interesting” facts, but mentions not one actual thing that’s interesting. Very frustrating to watch
Designed, built, developed and raced by R.M.L in the U.K. The photo at 2:39 was taken early in the production stage at R.M.L.'s Wellingborough facility.
Dude takes 8 minutes to say 3 seconds worth of words. He could probably speed it up a little if he weren't trying to find the hardest, coolest word every....single.....time.
I'm normally excited for new videos... but the dude literally says nothing the entire video other then "the s7 is close to a race car" and and how he loves the s7 then repeats those 2 statements over and over without ever actually saying anything about the car itself.
And then outright says he's not going to go into detail at all about what the issues are....yeah....that's pretty useless, IMO.
These videos are way too long for the content they include
12 mins to say it’s a rare race homologated car. Obvious he never drove one
Came here to say exactly this lol. I would have loved to hear what is actually a “grey area” on these
Thankyou for your sacrifice now I don't need to watch the whole vid

Too funny your so right, snobbish people trying to sound like they are so freaking knowledgeable.
Or he`s just passionate about the S7..
@@afrog2666 maybe he should turn his passion into knowledge about the car because this video was barely even a wikipedia post worth of info.
12 minutes to say that its rare, the chassis is more similar to the racecar than we think (no further explanation) and most saleens are different, because they didnt sell many. Did I mention its a rare car?
You’re fun at parties, aren’t you?
yup, the entire video dude literally said nothing

A lot of big words to say nothing
Hey Ed and co, here's a learning opportunity:

This piece isn't up to Vinwiki's usual standards.
There are standards here? If someone pays him enough, he will play their car story.
It's like he got the assignment mixed up and spent all the time explaining why it would make an interesting story, but never got to the actual story.
"don`t let anyone passionate about a car rant about it for 12 minutes, because it`s not the physics lesson I was expecting"
It's like if you gave ChatGPT the transcripts of 100 VinWiki clips and said "S7- Go"
The ai would have done better
Lol yeah AI would have done a much better job
I want my 12 minutes back.
Downvotes needed
Thanks, that saved me the time.
We all do.
He must be reading these comments through a stream of juicy tears.
I endured 8 minutes and 37 seconds before I put a stop to the 🤬nonsense. 🤦♀️
A lot of words to say absolutely nothing. Can we get this retold by Ficarra with actual facts and info?
Damn...was actually really interested in this one and the one time he sounded like he was about to elaborate on something really cool (the gray areas)...he didn't.
type of dude that listens to a bunch of 'really great music' from bands 'you've probably never heard of'

On top of that to mention "illegal" things on the car but not say what ANY of them were. Fine, keep your secrets.

Nope. He has never seen one in person I think
There are “things” that are “special” that I won’t get into but it makes these two “things” different but the other two “things” the same
You made more sense than this entire video. Thank You. 👊🏽🤣
Its even got round wheels.... just like the race car.
Slow down turbo, don't get too crazy with details here
Little known fact, all five of the S7s wheels are round. One manually rotates to steer two others... just like the race car
😂
In case you didn’t know, this car was digestible!
Don't forget that they're both very juicy cars.

RIP Rabbit....even more missed.
Who remembers Bruce Almighty?
Great movie!!!
The dinosaurs 🦕
Nope never heard of him
I hear S7 and INSTANTLY think, "Bruce Almighty."
I hear s7 i think of the crash in need for speed….
Dude has some crazy arm hair
Right?!
Bro I thought it was a tattoo I was mad distracted
That sweater looks itchy.
Truth
I think this guy likes Saleen S7s
I forgot this car existed lol takes me back to midnight club.
Also buddy is fluent in yappanese
midnight club LA dub edition is a GOATED game
Shoutout to all the comments that just saved me 12 minutes. You’re all appreciated!
I showed a non car guy friend of mine my Road & Track magazine that had an article on the S7. He was absolutely blown away. He said "that thing looks petty cool for a Mustang"
The real crime here is Saleen not paying Fabchild for building an exhaust. Iykyk
I tried to fit in one of these last year at MODA and I was very disappointed not to fit. As cool as it could possibly get!
You are a giraffe Edward
Some supercars are built to fit its original purchaser without adjustments.
Isn't there the chance that you can take it back to the factory, and have them re-fit the seat for you? I know it isn't an adjustable seat, but I think they can take it out and put it a bit further back in
Still have to video of it too lmao! See you there in a few months!
These were on my list till I realized I wouldn’t fit
This story was kind of all over the place, like imagine Ficarra telling the same story.
So, now I know the S7 is in a movie I watched, and learned, it's in a movie I watched, and now i know. So 1 movie and a car. For 20 minutes.
Heres a fun fact. Saleen never paid the welder of the exhaust. Fabchild is the welder
Rule #1 in business is don't extend too much credit.
This guys stories remind me of when I was in high school & had to give a presentation…..he says so much without really saying anything at all! 🤣🤣🤣
This dude should be a politician, because he talked for 10 minutes without actually saying anything.
looked at L:D ratio and the top comments, thanks for saving me 12 minutes
I remember hearing the designers talking about one of the final tests was to go to McDonald's and see if a super-sized drink would fit through the window in the drive-thru.
This reminds me of 3rd grade play ground when somebody said something was cool but the couldn't explain why. Details matter
What I learned from this video is that the S7 is juicy.
It was said that the S7 had so much downforce,
that you could drive it upside down
if you could build a tunnel with a spiral.
The spiral is turning out to be the road block or money in short.
You shared more than this guy
I'm sure that's a load of crap.
Would like to see him debate this car with Rob Ferretti since he had one and was disappointed by its quality.
Car is trash to drive because of the cockpit. Ask any owner. It’s like the Countach of the 2000s
@michaelgakanga watch the video of it with Rob from super speeders. He had some mechanical issues too. Sexy car just a disappointment.
I'd rather listen to Christopher Michaels read his grocery shopping list, than see Ivanhoe ever again.
12 mins of basically no technical data. This video is a Disappointing nothing burger. Not even one mention of horsepower or displacement
this boy should be a politician. spoke for 15mins, said 3 sentences.
Made it to the 5:33 mark. Punching out!
Truly one of my favorite cars and it’s a shame no one talks about it like the F1
It's a cool car but it's no F1.
It famously lacked build quality and reliability compared to the F1.
I'm a huge Saleen S7 fan, I have a signed poster of one... and this video is horrible. NOTHING of value was said. It's like he's drunk and trying to convince a friend the Saleen S7 is cool. Ah, the S7, my second first love.
The S7 was basically a Le mans prototype for the road and looks so beautiful❤
Stradman drove one recently on his channel. S7 is such an icon.
I always liked the look of it, it's among the best looking supercars in my opinion.
I just learned the road cars were darn near identical to the race cars, but no two cars were alike.
Dadgum I love S7’s.
Jesus this is unwatchable
Watch it in 2x speed
No reason to bring Jesus into this. Cant waste his time too.
Omg I know right.

Man the twin turbo s7 is one of my dream cars and im proud its american
One was owned in Versailles, MO for years. Car show regular and occasional road spotting.
He drove it in STL back in 2012-2013. Was riding in CWE and cruised past me. Nearly rode into a parked car it, it stole my breath.
@YoSuey heard he passed away and wife sold it. ( I knew her after he passed )
Oh thank god. The video ended.
Dream car to add to the collection one day, remember this being one of my favorite cars to play in Midnight Club Dub Edition
Interesting that rob from super speeders had one for Gotham dream cars and it was junk!
Still really cool looking!

Well, you've convinced me it's less insane than I thought.....
My favorite car of all time
All I got was that the insane and barely street legal S7 is juicy, digestible, rich, and flavorful
I recently learned there is an S7 and an Aston Martin Valkyrie in my small town! 🤯

Still think its nuts that Ferreti had one of these available as a rental during the early days of Gotham 😂
*why everyone started to talk about that car!?*
The twin turbo is the coolest supercar post 2000, and that’s just a fact.
If the Chrysler ME412 ever made it to production I’d argue it would have been cooler than the S7
I don't agree.
My neighbor while i was growing up had an S7 TT….thing was absolutely insane, and was always broken 😂
Thanks to video games, I still gush over the S5S Raptor even though it never made it past concept.
So it's more easily digestible than the other race cars for the road... But it's better because it's more of a race car for the road...
