Thank you for showing us this. You're the only one I have seen doing the 1/2 VW build. Keep the videos coming

Thank you Jason for taking the time to thoroughly document your 1/2 VW build. I have a set of Morey's plans, but they don't even come close to illustrating all of the details and obstacles involved in the conversion process. The work required just to make the heads almost justifies finding a set of 1/2 VW Scat heads. I saw them decades ago and don't even know if they are made any more and like all things today, how expensive they've become.

I remember the Scat heads but I haven't seen any for sale in years either. I did mess up a few months ago and didn't buy a set of heads that Cassler had made. All I would have needed to do was bore them out to fit the 94mm cylinders.

You are not wrong. I seriously considered a V-twin after looking at the Clarus/Predator engine at Oshkosh. I even got to talk with Leonard Milholland when I was there and he likes the V-twins too. I just really liked the look of the flat twin on the Ultracruiser and figured the fabrication work would be fun. If it wasn't for the looks I'd be running the 447 Rotax since I love 2 smokes.
