Nice straight to the point teaching drills. I appreciate the fact that you go straight into explaining technique rather than spending a solid minute doing a stunt show like most of the other channels I've seen. Salamat!

cool variation.. The first sumbarada drill i learned came from the cabales serrada escrima system.. the mid-level number 4 strike was met with a downward drop stick then immediately countered with a number 5 thrust... This looks like a combo of punyo sumbrada with elements of pekiti tirsia dakup y punyo ...i love mixing the drills of different systems as it improves different line recognition as some styles only involve 5 angles rather than say 12 as in the case of PKT 12 attacks.. Cool video!

You can also put some sticks on the ground and do "tinikling "😂😂😂

What are you doing there has absolutely no connection with ARNIS. Those drills are just a show off. In a real fight the attacker or the agressor wont hit beside you or on your baston on purpose , he will just demolish you with strikes .

Morgan Vladimir, its called a training drill, so you can practice technique with a training partner. Only a ignorant wannabe would make a statement like you have. Mark is a great instructor and if you actually studied Kali you would understand what he is teaching.

@@paulwonka74 start practicing REAL FMA with qualified instructors by the FMA committee , not from people who became instructors overnight. Tell me the style he is practicing if you support him that much .

@morgan vladimir It's a good drill if you see what you can do with it. Thinks it's just a starting point for more things that can be integrated to the drill.

I used to advocate these partner flow drills. As of late, I've decided it's not conducive to developing spontaneous countering for the reason, in an altercation, an assailant does not cooperate. Freestyling a sumbrada pattern will take far longer to learn precisely because of the set pattern. He even mentions in his explanation about having his partner "cooperate" in case he forgets part of the pattern.
