What I Love About Sunday’s
Almost Home
This Ain’t Nothing
"Almost Home" really touches my heart.. always been one of my favorites of Craig's!
Did not serve in Afghanistan. Stationed in South Korea and then in a battle in Panama but not Afghanistan
@robinmcintyre3472 he is an AMAZING storyteller! That's one of my favorites too! 🙏🎵🎶💯😍
Blake was at #1 on I-tunes at the time. He went on a mission to get people to not buy his song and move Craig to #1. That's a true friend ❤
I understand how he feels because I lost my son when was 21. The meaning of your life disappears. It is devastating. This song touches my soul. He has a lot of courage to write and sing this song
🙏
Does it ever get any easier?
@@DelaLee-os8yr unfortunately no. It has been 12 years and I am still broken. You end up just going through the motions. At least that’s how it is for me.
I haven't lost a birth child but two of my son's closest friends have ended their lives in the last 8 years and they are "mine" I can't get it out of mind, I cry over Zach and Cody every day. It hurts so much. Much love and prayers to you losing your own
@@robingriffin4444 my heart aches for you.
Gets me every time I hear that song. One of the most powerful songs/performances ever
His pain really shows when he sings this song he wrote.
Craig Morgan is one of the most underrated musicians there is. He is one of the most talented and just incredible artists out there. He isn’t just a country music artist either he was a US Army Combat Medic 8 years, a firefighter for a moment and a deputy sheriff and a few other jobs as well. Craig Morgan is one of my favorite artists of all time. Go listen to his other songs and get ready to grab a few tissues for the water works! He is the epitome of an American Patriot and country music artist.
Even the strongest man will fall to his knees in grief when losing a child. The pain is indescribable. I tear up every time I see this video.
That was the first time he sang the song in public. He wasn't going to record and release it. But Bluegrass and Country legend Ricky Scaggs told him that he absolutely had to, that people needed to hear it. Few weeks later, he released it as a single, and with the help of fellow artists like Blake Shelton, it went to #1. It's helped countless people struggling with grief and loss.
The first time he sang it in public was on the Kelly Clarkson Show...
@@DelaLee-os8yr No, that performance was after it was released on ITunes. A lot of his fellow artists were promoting the song for it to hit #1. Craig tells the story in the interview with Kelly Clarkson about how he was encouraged to release the song.
Absolutely true
The Kelly Clarkson show version gave more emotion at the end of the song. Mr. Morgan is an amazing singer, a veteran, an actor...just a talented man!
Yes, he lost his son 3-4 years ago in a drowning accident. He has had a hard time finding his way out of his darkness and depression and pain of losing his son.
Brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. I always loved Craig Morgan growing up and when this happened it broke my heart!
You nailed it, he is going through the stages of grief, ambition is low, he is mourning the lose but his faith reassures him that he will be with his son again this is the hope he clings to in order to get through the day.
When Craig walked off stage he told Blake Shelton he'd never sing it again because it was too hard. Blake told him he had to because people needed it. So, he made a video for it and still performs it. Rest In Peace Jerry Greer
Craig Morgan (Greer) and Karen's son. Craig uses his 1st and middle name professionally.
Actually it was Ricky Skaggs who told Craig he had to record it. Blake did help Craig as their great friends too
@Sonia C I know Ricky told him to record it I was referring to Blake telling him he had to perform it and Blake campaigned on Twitter saying he'd gladly give up his place on the charts for Craig and this song because people needed to hear it. The Kelly Clarkson Show was only the 2nd time he performed it live. I could have worded my first comment differently.
My brother...I absolutely love your comments..your a good man I know..thank you..62 year old former marine from south carolina.
He wrote this song after he lost his son. It's so moving and it gets me in the heart 💔 every time I hear this.
He couldn't of done it without his faith, God help all those who have lost a kid, losing any loved one is tough enough but a kid is another level
As far as the voice, a beautiful mid range, with a full resonance and underlying gravel, perfect story telling and emotion grabber.
As far as the song and message, ….. Wow, chills!
Some people don't get it. Dude you do. I lost my wife and two younger kids. This hits home. Thanks for the reaction
Sending you a virtuL hug. I cut imagine... losing oth my parents in a 6 yr period was hard bit a child... 😢😢
More Craig Morgan to check out "This Ain't Nothing", "I Was Almost Home" and a really feel good song "What I Love About Sundays!" Seeing Craig in concert is on my bucket list!! Powerful reaction to a powerful song!!
I cried, dang it I am a big country but I feel this in my heart. God bless him
I love Craig Morgan. You can hear the pain n this song which i absolutely love! ❤ Thank You Craig
One if the best reactions to this song. I watch every single reaction I see on this one. It hits so deep for people. That particular performance is one that he did not want to do, and afterwards he said he wouldn't do it live again. I think he has since then, but man...how difficult that must be. I also read that the lyrics came to him one night and he got up and wrote them down. With the exception of a few minor words, the lyslrics sung today are the same ones he wrote down in one sitting, right after his son drowned. So terribly sad.
I lost my brother 10 years ago. He was 48 yrs old. I watched my parents go through that awful pain. My brother was the oldest and I miss him just as much today as I did 10 years ago.
Craig was in the army for about 10 years I think. That’s what he was talking about with Uncle Sam. Now that you’ve found him you should check out Almost Home.
That's the sound of a broken man😢
Its good to see a obviouslly strong man with a good heart
Absolutely the best reaction to this song I have ever seen. Great job man. Your response to this song is inspiring and insightful. Great job.
Fantastic reaction. Thanks. Thought song.
I remember when they were searching for his son i was glued to the tv news it was heartbreaking.
Thank you for your heartfelt and honest reaction 🥲
Ditto...😢
This just breaks your heart.
I am a mother who lost her son after a 9 month battle with lukemia and I know what you mean about going in the wrong direction but with God my 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren I'm making it through. But..... there's always going to be a part of my heart that will never mend till I go home with the father my son and the holy ghost. Amen
Love this reaction bro. Keep up the great job 👏🏼 👵🏼💜☮️
I feel the feeling in this i lost my son August 28 2002 you never heal frok something like this you just learn to move forward i think about what my son would want for me and that is how i live rip my angel
When you lose a child you lose parts of you. You go on but you don’t go on. You are just stuck. It takes everything you have just to breathe. I lost my 18 year old son in 2014 and it hurts more and more everyday. It seems so long ago but like yesterday too. This song is so personal to me
Nobody can imagine how much pain a person feels after losing a child until or unless they’ve been through it. A friend of mine is going through this hell right now after losing her 12 year old daughter just a few weeks ago. No parent should have to bury their child.
Unlike others…you truly understood the lyrics and emotion. Well done.
We had this song played at our sons funeral 3 months after he sang this at the Opry . At the time I first heard this yes I was so very sad that he lost his son but didn’t know his pain . 3 months later we lost our son , I knew that pain you hear in his voice 3 years later I still feel this pain . Pray for all us parents that have lost our child or children . That pain never goes away …. We are lost souls roaming the earth trying to find a new normal that will never be .
Lisa. So sorry for your loss!!!
Prayers for you and your family!!

You should react to the live performance with Jelly Roll and Craig Morgan.
Jelly Roll talks about how Craig inspired him to follow his dream to sing professionally.
They sing Craig's song Almost Home.
"One day I'll wake up and I'll be home"... I fear it, but I have faith in it. It is all that matters, or nothing matters at all.
This song is his masterpiece 💖🙏
If you can listen to this ; knowing about the drowning and loss of his teenage son; and you don't have chills or a tear in your eyes I don't think you're human much less a parent. ❤❤😢😢
This song shows his Faith❤❤ amen
Craig a combat began served in the 82nd and 101sr airborne in Panama.
He was also M EMT
well done. brings me one tear away from ugly crying
An incredible performance, considering how hard that was for him to belt that out. Aye, brilliant💙🏴🇬🇧
I just want to tell you you are a very good young your mom and dad did a great job with you 💯 a gentleman
His song "Almost home" is awesome too
What an insightful reaction. Liked and subscribed. 👍
He is a Vet!
I recently passed the 25 year Deathaversary of my then 16,5 year old daughter, who died instantly in a freak accident, where an Inch was the difference between life,& her death. The Scream that came out of me when I found out, I can Still feel in my body,& Still hear ringing in my head. Eric Clapton had lost his son,& “Tears From Heaven”helped hold me together, & Many songs down the road of these forever Duller Colored years, while This song has brought a peace & Joy, as I’m 25 years closer to holding her again. I have not met or Know of Anyone who has lost a child, being able to wish this gut broke feeling on even their Worst enemy-if they have one. Yes! We Do go on, but quietly know we’ve been Forever Changed that even leaves our footsteps a bit heavier each year, even with the GOD Given BLESSINGS of other children, bringing us Their unique Joy to our lives.😢🙏
I appreciate your reaction to this powerful song. I liked what you said. I subscribed.
Hi Greg...
For 30 years after the loss of my only child..my 16 year old son..I was drifting hoping tomorrow would never come again...then one day God had me draw a picture..of my son...I couldn't look at his face though..so I drew him from the back looking at the pass between huge clouds in the distance...
A couple of days later I felt different..then started looking forward to the coming days...and I realized what God was saying...
"He's not there..at the moment of pain..he's here !...waiting for you..waiting to greet you"...
God saved my sanity that day 8 years ago...🙏...
🌿🌿🌿
Craig Morgan has been around for a long time. Now we have pop country . Stories don't get told anymore.
I remember when he sang this on the Today show 3 or 4 years ago. I bawled my eyes out. Heartbreaking!
Beautiful reaction!
Good lord baby Jesus. That is unreal.
I lost my mama not to long ago I won’t heal until I go home and see mama 😔
You have a beautiful heart my man❤
Listen to Wake up loving you, that song first time hearing it made me cry. He's an amazing singer.
Im almost 42, married 17 years, and have no kids because God said I couldn't evidently but I definitely shed a tear when I heard this song the first time.
Love your reaction
Blake Shelton took his songs off the radio so Craig could have this song played more. He's really a great best friend.
well said, your very understanding.I enjoyed your review
another couple powerful story songs by him are Almost Home & This Ain't Nothin
Appreciate your heartfelt genuine reaction. This is a beautiful…but tough…song to listen to ❤️
I'm not crying😭 your crying 😭
His oldest son drowned while tabbing. It takes a lot of strength and love for him to do that
7:22 the way he sang "kitchen" he was having trouble there for sure imo. Have on headphones just noticed that and I've listened to this song a zillion times.
He says Karen in his song that is the name of his wife.
Listened to quite a few UA-camrs comment on this song and video and yours is the best I've heard so far.
Keep up the great work.
Check out "Craig Morgan and Jelly Roll perform “Almost Home” Live at the Grand Ole Opry"
Very good reaction
I lost first my grandson and then a few years later I lost my son. 😢
The only thing that has helped me was praying standing on faith one day I will see mama.
First and only time he ever sang it live his country music buddies there are UA-cam videos on it Blake Shelton and many more talked him into singing it live and they sat front seat as his supporters he’s never sang it since
The official video is great
Watch, almost home, by him
Thank you for listening to this song
The Holy Ghost is the comforter Jesus left with us
His son drowned when he was 19. I don't know how he pulled it together enough to sing this live. It was really sad.
Check out Craig Morgan and Jellyroll doing “Almost Home” from the Grand Ole Opry
Always makes me cry. You should check out, She's With Me by Colin Raye

His son drown while tubing a river. So very sad.
Please react to Larry Bird's Ultimate Mix Tape. Subbed!!
Uncle Sam= the government
If you do not know the song the real video says it all.
He lost his 19 year old son in a drowning accident
Beautiful reaction. Thank you. Craig's son was 19 yrs old when he passed away in a boating accident. This was his 1st time singing the song Live. When he walked backstage he said he would never do that again. Blake Shelton helped him to get through and he sang it for the 2nd time on Kelly Clarkson Show. He's been signing it since.
Thank you for reacting to this, I've watched Craig for 20 years or more, I can remember the "Redneck Yacht Club" video where his son was happily jumping off his boat swimming, and the "Paradise" video where his son was maybe 4 or 5 years old....this man has suffered great loss and lived through to the other side. Great reaction. ❤
Few artists in any genre are as full and rich, on key and on point, live as they are on a record. Great reaction.
Such a Deeply Powerful Moving Song and Performed With So Much Emotion and Pain. Great reaction. Spot on. Takes a Man's Man to perform this like Mr. Morgan. Bless his family!
You are never the same after you lose a child. Lost mine 2017 . Hardest Journey Ever 💔 💛 🖤
Me and my lost our son in 2004 by a drunk driver. It still hurts today something you'll never forget just got to keep pushing and living. That's what they would want but dam is it hard beautiful song.
I lost my daughter on Dec 29th, last year. This song has gotten me by so far. It is my anthem.
Michelle, there can be no worse pain. Love and prayers to you. Please continue to cling to your faith. You will see her again in a joyous reunion. Hugs.....
@@ginnymurray1869 Thank you. I am taking it minute by minute. She wasn't only my daughter but she was my best friend also. I am now raising her 4 children. It is so hard to stay strong for them at times. I miss her as much as they do but I ahve to be strong for them.
@@michelleshaw54 Oh Michelle I am crying for you and with you. I can only imagine. My daughter and I have the same relationship. She and her three children live with us. You have a great challenge ahead of you. I will not forget you in my prayers.
Love your reaction to this one. I saw him interviewed, he said performing this song takes all his energy and sometimes he can't do it.
