Nikolai and Gautier: " ... Leo why are you in your pajamas" Leo: "Oh shit is today the performance" Niky: "..." Gautier: "..." Leo: "You two look like fobs anyway in your dinner suits"
I heard Kavakos play in the Op. 8 trio back in the late 90's in Minneapolis and it was a revelation. Wonderful to hear this performance from 20 yrs later and he hasn't missed a beat.
J'adore particulièrement, ici, le jeu de Gautier Capuçon. Bien sûr Lugansky est toujours aussi brillant, et il compose parfaitement avec ses trois partenaires. Superbe finale ! Excellente vidéo à tous points de vue !
What a musical adventure! So near to happiness, till frost spreads everywhere (in the Adagio : great sepulchral sounds produced by N.Lugansky : it must echo like that in a grave...). And the ending, this panting call exploding in an unexpected mixture of urgent expectancy, warmth and despair !
I love the romance, the fervour, in Brahms, when he has a reputation for being serious, gruff almost. The Brahms of the last piano pieces, or the lovely clarinet sonatas. This Op 8 was Brahms as a young amorous thrusting man of course (noting that this performance is the revised, much better, 1891 version of the original sprawling version from the 1850s). Great performance from three highly talented instrumentalists. Please guys consider a Beethoven Op 56 Triple Concerto - you would ace that for sure - and another underestimated work (a simple part for someone like NL of course); I happen to think that in the right (6) hands it should hold its head proud with the other concerti.
Ah, Brahms would be so happy with the musicianship of the performers here. This is the best of Brahms, played by the best of musicians here!!! Immortal Brahms never had it so good!
Did they hand out packs of cigarettes to the audience before the concert? I've never heard so much wheezing and coughing. Can't people be quiet for half an hour?
The string players are amazing including the pianist of course! Reminds me of my days in the music school when I used to duet in piano with my violinist friend in Abudhabi UAE😃🙌
3:21-3:47 Some extremely ebullient octaves with the climaxing developmental textures added in by the piano? 3:48, 3:52 Headbanging mode by Violin Jesus!
Really sounds better when there are modulations in the music. Brahms music is actually hard to play and needs a lot of practise to master every piece whether it's for piano, or chamber and orchestra!
Cuando se reunen músicos de gran talento para estas presentaciones, muchas véces el resultado no es el esperado, como en este caso. Cada uno pretende prevaler sobre los otros, arruinando el resultado. No me ha gustado.
This has to be the greatest piano trio ever written ❤️❤️
💀
@@ultimateconstruction what's the emoji for?
It's my favourite too. However, the Tchaikovsky trio is fabulous, as are both of Mendelssohn's.
Hold on a darn second. Schubert wrote a couple, Beethoven and Mozart, too. Silly argument.
@christopherfleming7505 I love the Mendelssohn ones too! I don't think I've heard the Tchaikovsky, I'll have to listen to it

Wow, Capucon was born to play Brahms. He is fantastic. And paired with these other two. A real treat.

What a beautiful song sung By the cello. By far the best performance, rendition and acoustic wise. Congratulations to the soloists and engineers.
A great performance. I like the way Capucon positions his stand to the right so he can maintain eye contact with Kavakos.
Elegantly beautiful portrayal of this Brahm's masterpiece.
It's a fantastic combination to listen to my favorite Brahms pieces with three outstanding musicians.

What a fantastic team of musicians! If only I could have been the pianist' s page turner!
the page turner usually has the most tricky part to play!
She should get the Nobel Peace Prize!
Stupenda esecuzione. Non c'è altro da aggiungere!
Big thanks for sharing this wonderful concert.
Oh the passion! So beautiful!!! Amazing job!!!! This is most incredible!
Beyond wonderful. Best interpretation I have heard. Thank you for posting!!!

Capucon looks like Vince Vega from Pulp Fiction
Enchanting Brahms trio. Thanks for posting.
Превосходно! Какая красивая музыка и исполнение. Спасибо!

Absolutely magnificent 👍👍👍
Comfort and gracefulness of this wonderful performance are immeasurable and beyond description

What about that page turner though, she did that remarkably well.
Amazing performance!!
wonderful

Beautifully done, truly a masterpiece
1:18 sounds like a couple is singing together!
Bravissimo!!
Fantastic
Reminds me of the days when i used 2 play the piano with my violinist friend Dominic. Was teaching overseas for many years..
Thank you❤
Amazing ❤
Just wonderful. No words!
Beautifull
Bravoooo
Beautiful. Thanks!
There are many performances on YT of this masterpiece: a trio written in the youth of Brahms, and revised in his old age.
Ευχαριστώ
Bravo!
bellissima esecuzione !!!
Extra points for the cough at the utterly precise point at the end of the sublime 3rd mvt. But stunning overall.
Great Brahms + great players.
Vraiment merveilleux

I just saw that! I will remember that expression when I need it LOL
👏🙏👏👏👏. Спасибо за прекрасную музыку.

Kavakos!
solo 3400 visualizzazioni in realtà sono molto bravi grande esecuzione e interpretazione
saw this playlist in move to heaven
What a treat to find this on UA-cam. I prefer the version with Kavakos/Ma/Ax but nice to see this with video!
Beautiful composition, beautiful playing - just wish the piano were a little quieter for the sake of hearing cello and violin more clearly
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

Does anything else besides this and Mendelssohn's Italian symphony start major and end minor?
Rachmaninoff Suite No. 2, Op. 17 starts in C major Alla marcia and ends in C minor Presto
Chopin's Ballade no. 2 starts in F major and ends in A minor
Yes, Brahms' 3rd symphony, my favorite, in F major ends in an f minor storm.
Schubert 4 Impromptus D. 899. Everyone of the four ends in the opposite key.
Alkan - Étude No 10 Op 35
Really sounds better when there are modulations in the music. Brahms music is actually hard to play and needs a lot of practise to master every piece whether it's for piano, or chamber and orchestra!
I can attest to the fact that playing the Brahms cello sonatas takes endurance.
I see everyone is dressed for the occasion.

lucky pageturner...
😅
The string players prefer to wear long hair coz they want 2b looking like the classical composers Brahms and Liszt? 😉☺
Great music, but the violinist needs to get a better suit.

Egos are part of the equation in chamber music. In this,it worked magnificently.
Il piano sovrasta eccessivamente e il violino non è in evidenza.
I dont like Lugansky in this performance, my perception is that he shows off too much, less Windows for the others
